1. Do ya love New Year's Eve? What did you do? (Or if you arrived here early, what are your plans?)
No I don't like New Years Eve.  I never do anything but stay home and go to bed early.
2. What’s something nice you did for someone else this year?
I can't really think of anything but I always try and help everyone that I come in contact with.
3. Who do you wish could find their inner spirit to become more comfortable in their life?
Everybody I hate to see people that hate themselves.  There are certain people but I am not going to name people because I don't want to forget anyone.
4. What’s the best thing to inherit other than money?
Animals
5. How many members of your family not living with you did you see on Christmas Day?
Nobody actually
6. When spending time with family, how long after you arrive do you begin to feel "antsy" about being there too long?
It depends on who the family is but it usually doesn't take me very long to get tired of people.
7. Is your family more likely to have pleasant discussions or heated arguments during a big meal? Do you join in or quietly listen in?
We don't really eat together anymore but my brother and I always used to fight during family meals.
8. Did you get everything you wanted for Christmas? What one thing that you didn’t get would you like to have received?
Ya I did.  I picked everything out and was happy with what I got.
9. What’s one area of your life you really improved this year?
I want to lose all the extra weight I am carrying around.

Bearing in mind that the Christmas tree in the White House will be called a "Holiday Tree' this year - makes one want to cry !!

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday  Morning  Commentary.
My confession: 

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish.  And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees.  I don't feel threatened.  I don't feel discriminated against. That's what they are, Christmas trees. 

It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me.  I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto.  In fact, I kind of like it.  It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in  Malibu  .  If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away. 

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians.  I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period.  I have no idea where the concept came from, that  America  is an explicitly atheist country.  I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat. 

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God as we under stan d Him?  I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too.  But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the  America  we knew went to. 

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different:  This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking. 

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina)..  Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response.  She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives.  And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out.  How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?' 

In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.  I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK.  Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school.  The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself.  And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide).  We said an expert should know what he's talking about.  And we said okay.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out.  I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.' 

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell.  Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says.  Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing.  Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace. 
Are you laughing yet? 

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it. 

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us. 

Pass it on if you think it has merit. 
  
If not, then just discard it... no one will know you did.  But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

Saturday 9: How's It Gonna Be
1. How's it gonna be in 2011 for you?
I hope that it is better than 2010 has been.  I really have no idea how it will be though.
2. What is your idea of a perfect romantic evening?
I don't have one.  I am not a romantic type of person.  I am really content most days being alone and not having to worry about another person and what not.
3. What strategy would you implement to deal with drug abuse in today's world?
I have no idea what I would do.  I have never thought about it before.  Part of the problem is the fact that we lock them up in prison and don't get them the help that they need to kick the habits that they have.
4. What thing about your family are you least proud of?
There are a lot of things and since I don't need to start drama I am to leave it at that.
5. What part of the holidays are you really looking forward to?
For them to be over!  Ever since my husband left me on Christmas I have hated this time of year.  I hope one day it will go away but for the time being I still hate it.
6. Who is the last person you high-fived? Why?
I can't even remember.
7. Have you ever made out at a drive-in?
Nope I haven't and actually I have never been to one either.
8. If you had only enough energy left in you for one last smile, who would you give it to?

Day 7

Today the want me to talk about my dream wedding.  Well I did have a wedding and I loved it.  I would say I had my dream wedding because I don't plan on having another wedding.  I am so done with marriage and men.

I am going to do another prompt that the SITS girls emailed out.  Today I am going to write about a Christmas I would rather forget.  I would love to forgot Christmas of 2008 when my husband chose that day to tell me he wanted a divorce.  To this day I am not sure why he chose Christmas to tell me but he did.  He has ruined Christmas for me now.  I was never a fan but now I hate it even more.  I am already getting stressed and stuff like that because I know it is coming.  Last year I ended up in the ER with a migraine so only gods knows what this year will be like.

Saturday 9: Reason to Believe
1. Has anyone asked you to believe in something that called for a huge leap of faith on your part?
Yes they have.  I am not going to go into though.
2. When is the last time you moved? Why did you move?
When I was forced to move home because my Husband didn't want to pay rent for an apartment because he was never home.
3. Malls? ..or one Internet? Are you doing more online shopping this year? The polls say we are, but I'm curious about what the real people are doing.
I love shopping online but I haven't done much of either type this year.
4. Do you remember the first meme you participated in and if so, what was it?
I think if was one that Supah used to do called All About MeMe
5. If you could invent something, what would it be?
A laptop that never needed to be charged.
6. Are you finished with your shopping? Do you still a few things to go? What? Not even a game plan? ...or is there just one person you're having trouble finding something for?
I haven't even started shopping so I need to get started and figure it out ASAP!

Everything is done around the house and at work.

Day 6

Today's I am supposed to post a picture of an animal I would love to own.

I would love to own either of those animals.  If I had a duck I would name him Bob The Duck!!!  I love cats and I think there wouldn't be anything better than owning a tiger.  They are so pretty and majestic in my eyes.  I would never have the guts to actually own a tiger but I sure wish I could own one that is for sure.

MS Tuesdays

I found this really interesting topic on MS on one of the other blogs I read.  I am not going to quote his blog but I went and found a article on it.  They have found a way to use stem cells to make the myelin sheath around the nerves that is damaged by when the immune system attacks the nerves in MS patients.  The research was done at Universities of Cambridge and Edinburgh.  They found the mechanism to make the stem cells start regenerating myelin around the nerves.  The myelin insulates the nerves like the the plastic that surrounds a copper wire.  When the myelin gets damaged the nerve doesn't work as well or even work at all.  They are also hoping that the research done with help people develop drugs that will promote myelin repair in MS patients
.
So if there is away to fix what damage has been done then they can reverse the damage and even cure the disease.  Now this has only been done in rats but if they can do it there then they are getting closer to trying it  in humans.  I have always figured that stem cells were going to be the way to helping people with MS and I am so glad to see that it can possible work.

Saturday 9: Hard Habit to Break
1. Do you have any habits or rituals at this time of year?
Nope I don't and that is okay with me.  Since 2008 I hate this time of year so I always just hope it will pass quickly!
2. Polar bears seem to do well in the snow... How about you? Is snow just another thing you deal with when it shows up, or is it shutdown time? ...and if you're posting from a non-snowy locale, do you make trips to actually see snow? It's okay to admit it...
I hate the snow!!!!!  I am in Utah and I hate driving and even watching it snow.  It always causes idiots to come out of the wood work and cause accidents
3. Tell about a toy you remember from your childhood.
I don't remember very many things but one thing I remember are my Barbies and Dolls that I used to play with.  I also had a stuffed dog that I loved other than that I don't really remember much.
4. If you could make one thing in the world absolutely free for everyone, what would it be?
Food!!!!!  There is no reason that people should have to go hungry.
5. Do you live close to your immediate family members? If not, how far away are they?
Ya I live with them because I can't afford rent because of all my doctor bills.
6. My mom ordered a turkey dinner from a local market. it was o.k., but not very good. how was your turkey (or last holiday meal) this year?
It was good.  I have had 3 that I can think of and they were all good but I do love turkey and chicken.
7. In a one horse open sleigh: Have you ever been on a sleigh ride or a carriage ride? Do you even like horses? Or would you just rather travel by your own two feet?
No I haven't been on one but I think it would be fun and no I don't like horses in fact I hate them.
8. What is your favorite Christmas song? ...and sung or played by whom? You know, the one you tend to listen for on the radio or hit 'repeat' on the player...
I don't have a favorite Christmas song.  I never have had a favorite either or at least I can't remember having one.
9. What is your least favorite Christmas song? ...and sung or played by whom? You know, the one you tend to skip on the player...
I don't listen to Christmas music so I don't have one that I hate.  I only listen to it if someone else is listening to it.

My Secret Santa

I took part in a Secret Santa Gift Exchange with Simple Stacie.  They had you pick a catagory so that people would have some idea of what to buy for you.  I chose books because I have started to read a lot to pass the time since I can't leave the house very much because of the MS.  My Secret Santa sent me the two following books:

I am reading "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" right now and I am not sure how I feel about it right now I will do a review when I finish it.  I haven't started the other one but I am super excited for it because I love books about WWII so I am sure I will love it!

I super happy with what I received and I will for sure be doing another one!!!!

This week for the Writers Workshop I picked number 1.) Have you ever had a fight with a long time best friend and never made up? Do you think about her from time to time and think about contacting her? What would you say? What if it didn't work out? What if it did? (inspired by Elizabeth from Mama Sick). I picked this one because I had a great friend all through high school and around the time I got pregnant we got in a fight and to be honest I have no idea what we were fighting about.  I have several ideas but I not 100% sure what we fought about but I do know that ever since then we haven't spoken until a month or so ago.  She sent me a message on Facebook that said she was sorry she couldn't be the friend I needed her to be.  I was shocked and taken back by it because I am pretty sure I caused the fight.  I sent her back a message telling her that I don't really remember what we were fighting about and that I would love to talk to her again.  We exchanged numbers and we talked a couple times for our birthdays.  I have always wondered what she was up to and things like that but I have never had the guts to email her and see how she is doing.  She is really the only person I have ever fought with that I have missed being in my life.  I have the attitude that if you are in my past there is a reason for that and leave people there but with her I have always wondered.  I hope her and I can get close again because I do miss having a friend that is my age!
