This weeks for the writers workshop I am going to write about #4 which is a quote that I love. I am going to list a few that I love because I have so many that I have used for my Quotes Of The Week posts and I can’t just choose one.
Those are just a few of the quotes that I am loving right now. What quotes are you loving right now?
Here are the other prompts for this week in case you want to join in:
1. An 8th grade memory.
2. Write a blog post inspired by the word: journey.
3. Book review!
4. Share a quote you love.
5. Spring Cleaning! Share a before and after photo of a room you recently tackled.
This week for the writers workshop I am going to write about number 1 which is something I brought for show and tell. When I saw this prompt I was pissed that I still don’t have the thing I brought to school a few times. I had kept if for years and years and a few years ago I figured it was time to let them finally go.
I guess I should tell you all what I brought. If you are squeamish you might want to just skip to the end because I am sure this will gross out some people. I got my tonsils out the summer before I started the 2nd grade and the doctor let me keep them so I would always bring them because it would gross people out. I always thought it was so cool to have them and be able to show other people. I am not one that gets easily grossed out so I thought it was funny when other people did get grossed out.
I also brought my cat a few times as well. I wasn’t ever a huge fan of show and tell because I hated getting up in front of the class and having to talk to everyone. To this day I still hate public speaking and getting up in front of people but that is a topic for another post one day.
What is one thing you remember bringing to school for show and tell?
This weeks prompts:
1. Something you brought for show and tell. 2. November 3rd is National Housewife’s Day…how did you celebrate? 3. The meaning of your name…does it suit you? 4. Tell us about something new you learned last month. 5. Share a list of some of your most recent favorite things. 6. What was your favorite song when you were 16 years old…is it still a favorite?
After you write your post make sure you click here so you can link up.
One of the prompts from last weeks writers workshop was to list 6 random facts about me. Since I am not sure what I have shared and what I haven’t shared I decided I was going to ask my grandma to tell me six random things about me from when I was growing up and I would post what she said so here are her answers: (I was hoping to have pictures for most of these but I couldn’t get my scanner at home to work so there won’t be any pictures)
I was probably 3 or so but she put me in a tree and took a picture of me and I wasn’t sure if I liked it or not. I thought this was funny because I hate heights to this day so this is still so true!
I loved to wash dishes when I was younger. When she told me this I looked at her and said to bad I am not like that anymore lol
There was one time when my mom dropped me off at my grandparents house that my braids were so tight that they stuck out from the side of my head like Pippi Longstockings did and mine didn’t even need wire in them!
I have loved cats since I was a baby. There are pictures of me looking at cat books and what not when I was a baby.
I eat strange things such as Avocado’s, Kiwi’s, Pomegranates and things like that. Now this isn’t weird now but back when I was in elementary school it was super weird because people didn’t eat many things like that.
When I was learning to ride a bike I guess I borrowed a bike of one of the kids that lived behind us at the time. Well his older sister came to get the bike and I was pissed off because he said I could borrow it. Well as she was leaving I yelled out this out the door at her “You’re a butt head and your whole family is a butt head!” I still laugh when she tells me about this because it just so me and who I am.
So those are the 6 random facts about me that my grandma told me!
I am sure some of you know that I love to watch YouTube videos and every month most of them do videos listing their month favorites. This week for the writers workshop one of the prompts was to list my March favorites and I thought it would be fun to show everyone the products I loved and used a ton in March.
First I have loved my Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight. I am sure most of you know that I love to read books and I review a ton of them here on my blog. I love to read actual books because I am one of the weird people who loves the smell of books but there are times where it is easier to just throw my nook in my purse and run out the door.
The second thing I have been loving is my iPhone 5. I got this at the end of January I believe and I love it. For those who may not know I love all Apple products so it is surprising that this is the first time I have ever had an iPhone. I am happy with it but I still do miss my Blackberry but for now I will stick with the iPhone.
I also have been loving my iPod Touch. My laptop died in February so I lost all of my music but because I have the iPod I will have music until I can afford a new laptop.
Another favorite of mine for the past few months is a singing group from Ireland called Celtic Thunder. I own all of their CD’s and I also own most of their DVD’s. I first heard them a few years ago and just started really listening to them in the past 6 months or so.
Those are just a few of the things that I loved in the month of March. What did you love last month?
I chose to write about number 3 this week for the writers workshop because I know exactly what I would do with $ 500. I am not sure if I have talked about this yet on my blog but my laptop died a couple of weeks ago and I don’t have the money to replace it at the moment so if I had $ 500 I would put it towards paying off my iPhone so that I would be that much closer to being able to buy a new Macbook.
I paid full price for my iPhone because I didn’t want to switch cell phone companies and T-Mobile doesn’t offer the iPhone but it does work on their network. So I got mine through Apple and just took it into T-Mobile to get a sim card that would fit it. So I have to pay it off and I also want to pay off my car and then I will save and pay cash for a brand new laptop for myself.
I really want to get rid of the the debt that I do have which isn’t much anymore. I still have the credit card with my husband that has a huge balance on it but refuse to pay for it so that will still be there but I don’t want any other debt. I am always scared that I will lose my job or something like that and I would hate to buy the laptop on a credit card and then not be able to pay for it.
Anyways this post has gotten away from me. So if I got $ 500 I would pay off my iPhone.
For the writers workshop this week I am going to write about 10 reasons you should be glad I didn’t blog in my 20’s. I am going to change the prompt slightly though because I am still in my late 20’s. I am going to write 10 reasons why you should be glad I didn’t blog while I was in college and in my early 20’s.
All I would have had to write about was what I was doing in class and lets just say that would have been super boring. I never partied in college so I wouldn’t have any good stories.
I would have written about my crazy roommates and the one who ended up over dosing the day before Thanksgiving my last semester up at Weber State.
You would have had to read all the posts from when I was pregnant and pissed off at my daughters father.
You would have had to listen to me complain about all the young girls that were keeping their children when I was 20 and placing mine for adoption. It really bugged me at the time and I have since got to the point where I just don’t care anymore. Everyone decides what is best for them and I don’t have the time to worry about it.
Of course you would have had to read about all the high school drama that went out those years.
I wouldn’t have wanted anyone to see pictures of me from that time because that would be super scary.
God knows who I would have pissed off because I just learned how to control what I say or write. I didn’t have any filter back then.
There would have been tons of god awful music and crazy music on here.
I never would have gotten any school work done because I would have spent all the time blogging and reading blogs.
This last one comes from my favorite roommate and she said she was glad I didn’t blog then because she didn’t want any incriminating information out there about her. I gotta love his roommate she is also the only person who ever gave me a nickname the stuck and she still calls it til this day.
So those are my ten things. What is one reason you are glad you didn’t blog then?
