10 Reasons I Am Glad To Be Done With School

10 Reasons I Am Glad To Be Done With School

This week for the writer’s workshop I am going to write about number two which is: ten reasons I am glad to be done with school. I did write a post a few weeks ago about wanting to take classes, but I have zero desire to go back to school. Let’s get right into the ten reasons I don’t want to go back to school.

  1. The first reason I don’t want to go back to school is that I have no desire to be in the same classrooms as teenagers again.
  2. I don’t want to have to take tests anymore. I have always had test anxiety, so I don’t want ever to have to take tests again.
  3. I have no desire to have to do homework.
  4. I never had to study in high school, so when I got to college, I had no idea how you study. I still have no idea on how you are supposed to study so I am glad that I don’t have to try and figure it out now.
  5. Assigned reading-Buying books that you can’t afford and they won’t buy them back at the end of the year.
  6. Dealing with Teachers-I have never liked to deal with other people and having to deal with teachers always sucked. It is also hard in college because most professors write their books so if you don’t learn well from that teacher you are in a lot of trouble because you have to use their book. I had a biology professor at the University of Utah that if I had gone into his class not knowing anything, I would have failed because he taught so weird.
  7. Having to take certain classes even if they don’t interest you. I never got a degree because I didn’t want to take the P.E. classes or the art classes you have to take to graduate.
  8. Group projects-I was always was the person in the group that did most of the work because I wanted it done right. I also am not the kind of person who likes to leave things to the end.
  9. Working and going to school-Most days it is all I can do to go to work and back home so I have no idea how I would be able to work full-time and go to school even if I only went back part time.
  10. The amount of money it costs to go to school

Those are ten reasons that I am glad to be out of school. I am sure if I sat down long enough I could come up with another ten reasons I am happy to be out of school.

What is one reason that you are glad that you are out of school?

Writers Workshop-Show and Tell

Show & Tell

This week for the writers workshop I am going to write about number 1 which is something I brought for show and tell.  When I saw this prompt I was pissed that I still don’t have the thing I brought to school a few times.  I had kept if for years and years and a few years ago I figured it was time to let them finally go.

I guess I should tell you all what I brought.  If you are squeamish you might want to just skip to the end because I am sure this will gross out some people.  I got my tonsils out the summer before I started the 2nd grade and the doctor let me keep them so I would always bring them because it would gross people out.  I always thought it was so cool to have them and be able to show other people.  I am not one that gets easily grossed out so I thought it was funny when other people did get grossed out.

I also brought my cat a few times as well.  I wasn’t ever a huge fan of show and tell because I hated getting up in front of the class and having to talk to everyone.  To this day I still hate public speaking and getting up in front of people but that is a topic for another post one day.

What is one thing you remember bringing to school for show and tell?

This weeks prompts:

1. Something you brought for show and tell.
2. November 3rd is National Housewife’s Day…how did you celebrate?
3. The meaning of your name…does it suit you?
4. Tell us about something new you learned last month.
5. Share a list of some of your most recent favorite things.
6. What was your favorite song when you were 16 years old…is it still a favorite?

After you write your post make sure you click here so you can link up.

What I Miss Most

I remember while I was in school thinking that I was never going to miss being in school.  Now that I have been out of school for a few years I realize that I do miss school.  I don’t miss tests but I miss learning.  I actually miss going to classes and learning new things.  It is crazy for me to think that I miss anything about school because I really hated school until I got to college.

High school was rough for me because of bullying and I just wanted to get out of there.  Once I started college and Weber State University I came to love learning and  going to class.  I know it had a lot to do with the fact that I was taking classes that I enjoyed and wasn’t stuck taking tons of classes that didn’t interest me.

I miss learning things.  I don’t know what it is about sitting a class room listening to a professor teach that makes me feel like I am learning but it does.  I really want to take a class here are there because I do miss learning.  I feel like I am wasting away when I am not in school.  I am sure that is because I never have finished school so I still feel like I need to finish.

School has always come easy to me and I think that is why I miss learning.

What do you miss about school?
