Jackee Harry – Quote Of The Week

I chose a quote by Jackee Harry for this week’s quote.

I loved this quote because this is how I have been feeling over the past year or so.  I have had to deal with some much crap this past year because of family members and other people not acting like adults.  I haven’t talked at all on here what has been going on because I don’t want to make things worse.  I also refuse to put things out into the world that will at some point my nephew will read.  I refuse to act like either of his parents, so that is all will say for now at least on that subject.

I think that today we all need to sit back and just think through all of the horrible things that are happening in the world.  I feel like there is so much negative stuff happening in the world that we all need to take a step back and figure out a way to stop all of the violence and bullying that is happening every day.  I have no idea how to go about it, but I think it is something that we all need to try and do every day.  I have always been the person that isn’t going to say something to someone on the internet if I wouldn’t say it to their face.  Anyway, those are just a few of my thoughts on this quote.

What do you think about this week’s quote from Jackee Harry?

Do you agree or disagree?

Malala Yousafzai – Quote Of The Week

This week’s quote is by Malala Yousafzai.

I have always respected Malala because of how brave she is.  I don’t think I would be able to go through what she went through and then still have the strength to stand up and tell her story.  I love this quote because even though she is younger than me, I look up to her.  She has made me speak up when I see things happen in my life that isn’t right.  Everyone needs to learn from her because she is amazing and the world would be a much better place for everyone.

What do you feel about this week’s quote by Malala Yousafzai?

Quotes I Love-Writer Workshop

Quotes

This weeks for the writers workshop I am going to write about number 1 which is a quote I love. As some of you may know I post a quote every week because I love quotes and I love to share quotes that I love with other people. If you want to check those out you can click here and scroll through them. The one quote I have loved since I heard it is:strong.jpg
I love this quote because it is so true.  I first saw this quote after I had my daughter and I struck me as true because I never thought I would be able to place my daughter for adoption.  Like I always say when people ask me how I get through life “I don’t have an option but to keep going because I can’t just die”.  You just have to put one foot in front of the other and know that in time things will pass.

Here are a few other quotes that I am loving right now:

Adoption Thoughts: Things People Say

Adoption Thoughts

This week I am going to write another post in my adoption thoughts series.  This post is going to be about my current thoughts on people telling me “I could never do what you did” and “You are so strong”.  There are times when hearing these things don’t really bother me and I will just say thank you to them but then there are times like right now when hearing both of these things just get on my nerves.

When people say “I could never do what you did” it usually leaves me just staring at them because how do you really respond to something like that.  Up until recently I haven’t really said things back to anyone but now I almost always say “unless you have been in the same situation you don’t know what you would be able to do”.  I know people just say this because they don’t think they could do it but I didn’t think I could do it either until I was in the situation.  I never thought that placing a baby for adoption was something I could handle but once I was pregnant with her I knew without a doubt that it was something that I had to do.  I mean who grows up thinking that they are going to give birth to a child and then place that child for adoption.

Now when people tell me I am so strong this quote always pops into my head:

strong.jpg

Being strong is always relative to the person.  Like the quote says you won’t know what you can do or how strong you are until you have to face it and deal with whatever is happening to you.

I guess the whole thing for me is that I just did what I had to do in the situation that I found myself in.  I know in parts of this post I sound harsh but this is how I feel some days and I don’t want to sugarcoat things or make is seem like these things don’t really bother me.  I have spent many years not talking about how things make me feel and I don’t want to do that anymore.  For the first time I want to be honest with others and even myself.

If there is anything about adoption that you would like me to talk about please let me know and I will work on it for you.

You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me

Some of you will know that I love music.  I always have it on at work in the background and I usually have it on at night when I am designing or surfing the web.  I always seem to have songs for everything that I have gone through or are going through.  When I was pregnant the song “Welcome To My Life” by Simple Plan was how I was feeling.  Every time I hear that song now it brings back all of the memories and feelings I had when I found out I was pregnant.

Right now the song that describes how I am feeling is by Cher from the movie “Burlesque”.  It is called “You Haven’t Seen The Last Of Me”.

I love this song right now because I feel defeated.  There is a lot going on right now that I won’t get into but this song says how I feel right now.  Like the song says you haven’t seen the last of me.  I will get through everything that is going on and I will come out on top!

Do you have songs that explain certain parts of your life?
