Monthly Favorites – October 2016

october-2016-monthly-favorites

How are we already at the end of October?!?!?  My birthday is in less than a month, and I am so not ready to be thirty-two yet.  I wish that there was a way to stop having birthdays once you reach a certain age.

Anyway, let’s get on to the things that I have loved from this past month.  This first thing I have loved this month is a song by Shawn Mendes call “Stitches.”  I heard this song on Pandora for the first time this month, and I have it on repeat most of the month.  Here is the music video in case you haven’t heard it before.

I have also been loving the song “Rise” by Katy Perry.  The first time I listened to this song it was a cover of the song Super Fruit.  I will have the cover of it that I loved, and I will also include the video of Katy Perry as well in case you haven’t seen either of them.

I also have been loving these new Mentos that I found this month.  The only place I have been able to find them is at a gas station that I pass on my way to work in the mornings.  They remind me of Milk Duds, but they don’t stick to my teeth like Milk Duds do.

I have also been a huge fan of these freezer meals that I have gotten from the store they are called Evol.  I love them because they have so many different choices.  I had one that was vegan and I had another one that is gluten free.  The boxes are all marked with what they are and they are so good.  They are a little bit more expensive, but I don’t mind spending more on lunch items that are vegan and gluten free.  Here is a picture of one if you are interested in seeing if your grocery store carries them.

The last thing I have been loving this month is the TV show “The First 48”.  I have talked about this show in the past because it is a show I have been watching for years and I am sure I will keep watching it for years to come.  I love watching as the detectives investigate and solve murders.  It is something that has always interested me, and I am sure that it always will.  It is on A&E in case you want to check it out.

Those are just a few things that I have loved this month.  What have you enjoyed this month?

A Few Of My Favorite Songs

A Few Of My Favorite Songs

I haven’t written about music that I love for quite a long time, and I wanted to list a few songs that I am loving.  I used to post songs I loved on Mondays and if you wish to check those posts out you can click here to see them.  Let’s get on to a few of the songs that I am currently loving.

If you click on the title of the song, it will take you to the video on YouTube that you can watch.

  1. See You Again ft. Charlie Puth by Wiz Khalifa.  I loved this song since I first heard it.  I wasn’t a huge fan of the movie, but I do love this song, and it is one of the ones that I put on repeat as I drive home from work.
  2. Love Yourself by Justin Bieber.  I just started listening to this song last week because I don’t follow the popular music anymore, so I never hear about songs until they are older.  I can’t help but sing along with the song, and it makes me wonder what else I have missed.
  3. Time Of Our Lives by Pitbull & Ne-Yo. This song is one that I loved when it came out but I forgot about it until a few weeks ago, and it reminds me of why I love Pitbull & Ne-Yo.  This song makes me car dance because you can’t help but dance when you listen to it.
  4. Black And Yellow by  Wiz Khalifa.  I am adding this song because even though I don’t listen to this song all that often it is one that I will randomly just start singing because it gets stuck in your head no matter what you do or, at least, it does for me.

  5. Big Guitar by Blackhawk.  I didn’t know anything about this song until 2014 when I started to listen to the 90’s Country station on Pandora and once I heard this song I was hooked.  They have such a different sound, and I know that is why I love it like I do.

I am going to stop at five but if you would like me to do this more often let me know and I will do it again.  What songs or artists are you currently loving to listen to?

Musical Monday-Brave by Sara Bareilles

music copy

I did a Musical Monday post last week and if you missed it you can check it out right here!  This weeks I decided to do a post about the song Brave by Sara Bareilles.  This song came out last year but I just found it and I have to say I have had it on repeat because I love the message of this song.

Now that you have listened to the song what do you think?  Do you love what this song says to everyone?  I think people today need to hear this song and the message because there is so much bullying going on and people feeling like they aren’t worth with anything.  If more people tried to do what this song says I am sure there would be fewer people committing suicide.  This post has turned into me basically saying people need to be nice to each other.

Anyway what do you think of this song?  What songs are you loving now?

Musical Monday-Hey Brother by Avicii

music copy

I haven’t written a Musical Monday post in a few months but I wanted to write another one because I have been in love with a song.  Lately I have been in love with the song Hey Brother by Avicii.  I have never actually heard this song on the radio here but I found it when I was listening to the iTunes radio feature that I have on my phone & iPod.  I find that I just put this song on repeat and listen to it all the time which I find happens with songs that I love and songs that end up sticking around for me.  There isn’t anything about this song in particular that I can find that as to why I like it so much but from the time I heard it I didn’t want to stop listening to it.  In fact right when I heard it I had to download it so I couldn’t listen to it over and over again.

Now that you have had a chance to listen to the song & see the video what do you think?

What song are you currently loving?

Can’t Hold Us-Musical Monday

music copy

I have another Musical Monday post for you today because lately I have loved listening to music on the way home from work.  It seems like I have more time that usual as well because of all the traffic because of the horrible weather we are having.  Anyway this song is Can’t Hold Us by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis.  I pretty much love the CD that this song is on but I find that I am just putting this song on repeat while I am driving home because it makes me want to dance.  It also makes me forget that I am stuck in traffic.

Do you like this song?  What songs and/or music are you loving now?

Let Her Go by Passenger-Musical Monday

music copy

I haven’t done a musical Monday post for months and months but I have to post this song because I am listening to it on repeat all day long.  It is called Let Her Go by Passenger.

I am not sure what it is about this song that I love so much but I can’t stop listening to it.  I bought the whole album and I have to say that I wasn’t disappointed.  I am not a huge fan of the music videos but I do love his music.  I think I like it so much because he has a very different voice than anything I have heard in years so that always a good thing to me.

What songs are you loving this week?????  Leave them below because I am always on the lookout for great music.

Musical Monday-Green Day

I haven’t posted a song on Mondays for a long time but I have wanted to post a song by Green Day and I figured that I would post it this week.  I am sure some of you know that I love music.  I literally always have music playing and I can’t ever get enough of it.  I listen to pretty much anything and the past few weeks I have been loving “Boulevard Of Broken Dreams” by Green Day.  This is my favorite part of the song:

I walk a lonely road
The only one that I have ever known
Don’t know where it goes
But it’s home to me and I walk alone

I walk this empty street
On the Boulevard of Broken Dreams
When the city sleeps
And I’m the only one and I walk alone

I love this song because the lyrics that I have listed up above is so how I feel a lot of the time.  I know that I am on the one responsible for the reasons I am alone.  Most days I am okay with this but there are days where it does get lonely and today is one of those days.

Fly Away

For last week’s Writers Workshop I chose to post songs that told part of the story of my life.  One of those songs was this song by Sugarland.  I reason I like this song is because of these lyrics:

I’m so sick and tired of being told what’s good for me
People got lots of ideas of who I’m supposed to be

Now there are other parts of this song that I love as well but these are the first two lines in the song that jump out at me.  I love the lines because I do get tired of people who I know mean well telling me what they think I should do.  Those of you who know me know that the best way to make sure I don’t do something is to tell me that I should do it.  I have always done the opposite of what people tell me I should do.

I am the type of person who has to learn from my own mistakes so when people try and give me advice I don’t ever take it.  I know my life would/could be simpler if I would just listen when people give me advice.  I know part of this is because I am so stubborn that I have to do things my way.  Even if I know that my way isn’t the best way to go about doing something.

I love the second line because I am so tired of people telling me who they think I should be or what they think I should do with the rest of my life.  Like I said before I know most of the people who say things like that mean well but I get tired of hearing it.

What do you think of this song?
