Back In The Saddle by Ruth Logan Herne***Updated Review***

Book Review Graphic

FTC: I received a free copy of this book from Blogging For Books in exchange for my honest review.  I received no other compensation.

Back In The Saddle by Ruth Logan Herne was an excellent book to read.  This is the first book I have read by this author, and I am so glad that I read this book because I now have another great author that I can add to my list of great authors that I want to read in the future.  I like all the characters in this book right from the start.  I did spend most of the book hoping that Colt wouldn’t leave after the market recovered and what not.  After I finished this book, I can’t wait for the next book in this series to come out.  I fell in love with the entire cast of people in this book, and I can’t wait to catch up with them in the next book but also to find out more about the other characters.  If you love chick lit, I know you will love this book, and it is also one that I will be keeping in my collection of books.

Waking Amy by Julieann Dove

Book Review Graphic

FTC: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.  I received no other compensation for this review.  All opinions expressed in this review are mine.

Waking Amy by Julieann Dove was a book I was excited to read because I saw it all over the place and I had to know what all the hype was about.  That being said it was a good book, but I couldn’t figure out what all the hype was about.  It isn’t the best book I have read lately, but it was one that I will give four stars too.   For some reason, I just couldn’t get into the story and at times the book seemed to go super slow. I liked Amy because I could see a lot of myself in her, so I know how she was feeling.  I wasn’t a super big fan of Mark because he seemed to be the type of guy that just likes to play women and I don’t like that.  All in all, it was an okay book just not the right fit for me.  If you like chick lit then I would check this one out because I know most people who like chick lit would love this book.

Waking Amy by Julieann Dove

About The Book

Amy Whitfield is blindsided when she comes home and finds a note on the fridge from her husband, Wesley, stating that after four years of marriage, he’s leaving her. Amy was in the midst of trying to spice things up, to bring life back to their boring marriage. It seems now that she was too late.

Relieved, Amy sees this as her second chance: the chance to get it right this time. To channel the girl Wesley won’t leave when he regains consciousness… She just needs some help to pull it off. After all, she was voted girl most likely to die a virgin in high school.

Amy would never figure on getting that help from Mark Reilly…Wesley’s doctor! He’s a non-committer, too-cute-for-his-own-good bachelor, and completely the guy Amy begins falling for. It’s a race against time to see who wakes up first—Amy or her husband.

The Secret Life of Charlotte Dodd by Holly Kerr

Book Review Graphic

FTC: I received a free copy of this book from CLP in exchange for my honest review.  I received no other compensation for this review.  All opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent my own thoughts and opinions.

The Secret Life of Charlotte Dodd by Holly Kerr was and interesting book.  When I first started it I was super confused and wondered if this was part of a series.  After I looked into it I couldn’t see that it was so I just stuck with it and once I got to chapter 7 I had figured out enough that I wanted to keep reading the book.  Once I was into the book I didn’t want to stop reading it because it was a fast moving book and I loved the whole concept of the book.  This was a super easy book to read and it went super fast for me as well.  I found the concept of this book pretty unique which I also enjoyed because books tend to be pretty similar and I love when I find a book that isn’t like other books.  If you love mystery books I would recommend this book to you.  I also say give it a little bit of time to get into it and for it to start to make sense before you give up on it because I am glad that I gave it the time.

Charlotte Dodd is having a very bad day.

After taking an experimental drug to erase her memories of saving the world (or at least the country – several times) Charlotte is given a new life – a quiet, unassuming job, a second chance at love with Luke, and no one trying to kill her.

Two years later and with no recollection of saving the world, she steps in to help a random stranger and is amazed at the ease in which she dispatches her opponents using a rolled-up magazine. But how is that possible? She has Buffy-like fight moves, fires a gun with deadly accuracy and can use the air from car tires to keep breathing underwater.

When she meets Ham – why is he so familiar? The flashes, the déjà vu, the dreams – they’re not really dreams? Blowing up a building in Mexico, being buried alive – those things really happened to her? And what is her brother doing flying a plane? Turns out those two years of quiet with Luke was really an undercover mission to help bring down a secret organization targeting her family.

Charlotte needs to remember her secret life if she wants to save the world again and the only man she’s ever loved.

Walt Disney-Quote Of The Week

Quote Of The Week

This week I chose a quote by Walt Disney.

Walt Disney

I loved this quote because it is a great thing to remind yourself and a way to think more positive.  I love quotes like this one because they are an excellent way to stay positive.  I print things like this off and put them on my desk so that I always have something that reminds me to be positive and not let the negative thoughts take over.

What do you think of this week’s quote by Walt Disney?

Leaving Barringer by Tina Martin

Book Review Graphic

FTC: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.  I received no other compensation for this review.  All opinions expressed in this review are 100% my own.

Leaving Barringer by Tina Martin wasn’t my favorite book, but it was still an excellent book.  This is the second book in the “The Blackstone Family” series.  Even though I didn’t read the first book I didn’t feel lost at all when I was reading this book.  So you don’t have to read the first book if you don’t want to.  I do like when you don’t have to read the other books in the series to understand books after it.  After I was a couple of chapters into this book, I started to enjoy it more, and I even began to like all the characters.  I do say the one thing that bugged me was the fact that Barry wouldn’t just be honest with his wife about what was going on with him and the reasons that they didn’t have kids.  I know that is part of the story, but it just bugged me is all.  All in all, I did like this book, and I would consider reading rest of series.  If you are a huge fan of chick lit I know you will enjoy this book, and you should check it out.

Leaving Barringer by Tina Martin
