I did a few of this kind of posts in the past, but I think it has been year’s since I have taken the time to write one. Reviews have slowed down for me lately so I figured now would be an excellent opportunity to share some of the things that I am currently loving.
One the things I have been enjoying lately is a book that I am reading to review. The book is called The Kept Woman by Karin Slaughter. I am not going to say much about this book because I will have a review up for it on October fifth. I have enjoyed everything about this book so make sure you check back on the fifth to find out what I loved so much about it.
The next thing I have loved has been adult coloring books. Over the past six months, I have been getting into them. I love coloring with gel pens in them because I have all different types of finishes, and they have such bright colors. I have loved one that is like a journal in the sense that you can write down thoughts you have about a quote or lesson that is taught on the other page. Then you can color the pages or just decorate the pages. I love this because it is journaling, but it also makes you think about God and life. If you are interested in pick this up, you can click here to buy a copy for yourself.
I also have been loving listening to Pandora radio on my way to and from work. I have always had a tremendous passion for music, and I love Pandora because it allows me to listen to all types of different music and it also recommends songs and artists that I might like. I love finding new music, and I have loved Pandora for that reason lately.
I have also been loving binge watching documentaries on YouTube and Netflix. I always have something playing in the background when I am at home on the weekends or even while I am at work during the week. There is one documentary that I watch on Netflix, and I enjoyed it so much I wanted to share it. It is called “Finding Home” and it is about the poor girls that are part of the sex trafficking problem in Cambodia. I have watched this one twice, and it breaks my heart just thinking about what the poor girls are forced to go through and deal with.
Those are a few of the things I have loved this month. I sure there are more things I could write about but I have run out of time. Maybe next month I will have more time to share more of the music and movies that I am loving.
It is fall in Utah which means it will soon be snowing. I saw a prompt that asked what I did on a dark and stormy day and I figured it would be a good topic to write about because that type of weather will soon be taking over in Utah. There aren’t a ton of things that I do when it is storming out but a few things that I really do enjoy doing.
The first thing that came to mind when I saw this prompt was I love to watch football when it is stormy and nasty out. I don’t think there are many things better than curling up and watching a good football game when it is cold and nasty out. On with that theme I also love to just put on a good movie or even watch reruns of my favorite shows curled up in bed. I love not having to go out and being able to watch it storm and be warm and comfortable in my house watching TV.
The only other thing that I really love doing when it is storming is to get whatever book I am reading and find a warm spot to sit and finish the book. I love being able to read books when it is gross outside because I can read about warm places and forget for a while that it is snowing and freezing outside for a little while. I also have started to love listening to audiobooks because there are days where my head hurts so bad that I can’t read but being able to listen to an audiobook is great for passing the time as well.
Those are a few things that I love to do when it is stormy and gross out. What do you like to do when it is storming outside?
I have finally slowed down with book reviews so I can now get back to posting about things other than only reviews. I do love posting reviews on books but it does get old quickly. Anyway today I am going to talk about my top 5 favorite movies. This was hard for me to decided because I love so many movies but I did manage to get the list down to just 5.
Apollo 13-I have loved this movie since the first time that I saw it and I honestly don’t think that I will ever not watch this movie. I am pretty sure that I could quote every line in this movie because I have watched it that many times.
Liar Liar-I still find myself quoting this movie all the time and it is one movie that I know will always have a place in my movie collection.
Heritage by Celtic Thunder-I just randomly picked one of the Celtic Thunder DVD’s that I have and this one was the one. I love all of their DVD’s and I hope that one day I will be able to see them live because I love their music & their DVD’s of the shows.
Short Circuit-This is a classic movie in my opinion and one that I am so glad I was able to find on DVD awhile back because it always makes me smile and it such a great movie for all ages to watch.
Harry Potter & The Goblet of Fire-This Harry Potter movie was my favorite book and I also loved the movie. I like all of the Harry Potter movies & books but this one stands out among all of them for me.
Those are my top 5 movies. There are hundreds more that I love as well but I wanted to just stick to the top 5 ones that I would chose to watch over and over again.
What movies do you love or do you want to recommend me to check out?
This week for the writers workshop I am going to write about number one which is: A movie you loved as a child. There are a few movies that I loved as a child so I am going to post a few of the ones that I loved.
The first one that came to mind when I read this post had to be the movie “Labyrinth“.
Even now when I watch this movie it makes me smile and I am not 100% sure what it is about this movie that I loved so much. It has David Bowie in it and if you haven’t seen it then I think it is worth watching if you want a good laugh.
I have tried to watch this movie as an adult and I am not sure what I liked about it because I literally can’t get through watching the movie now. I remember parts of this movie but everytime I try and watch it now that I am an adult I turn it off because it is that bad.
There isn’t much to say about this movie because I love it that much. When it was realised a few years ago on DVD I bought several copies because the VHS I had broke and I didn’t want to be without it again. I basically have the whole movie memorized and yet I still get excited if I see that it is on TV. To me this will always be a classic movie.
I still love this movie and I watch it all the time. It did take until I was an adult to get everything that was really going on in the movie. Once I realized what was going on in the movie I loved it even more. I have always loved WWII so that made me love the movie even more.
Those are the four movies that came to mind right when I read the prompt.
