Monthly Favorites – October 2016

october-2016-monthly-favorites

How are we already at the end of October?!?!?  My birthday is in less than a month, and I am so not ready to be thirty-two yet.  I wish that there was a way to stop having birthdays once you reach a certain age.

Anyway, let’s get on to the things that I have loved from this past month.  This first thing I have loved this month is a song by Shawn Mendes call “Stitches.”  I heard this song on Pandora for the first time this month, and I have it on repeat most of the month.  Here is the music video in case you haven’t heard it before.

I have also been loving the song “Rise” by Katy Perry.  The first time I listened to this song it was a cover of the song Super Fruit.  I will have the cover of it that I loved, and I will also include the video of Katy Perry as well in case you haven’t seen either of them.

I also have been loving these new Mentos that I found this month.  The only place I have been able to find them is at a gas station that I pass on my way to work in the mornings.  They remind me of Milk Duds, but they don’t stick to my teeth like Milk Duds do.

I have also been a huge fan of these freezer meals that I have gotten from the store they are called Evol.  I love them because they have so many different choices.  I had one that was vegan and I had another one that is gluten free.  The boxes are all marked with what they are and they are so good.  They are a little bit more expensive, but I don’t mind spending more on lunch items that are vegan and gluten free.  Here is a picture of one if you are interested in seeing if your grocery store carries them.

The last thing I have been loving this month is the TV show “The First 48”.  I have talked about this show in the past because it is a show I have been watching for years and I am sure I will keep watching it for years to come.  I love watching as the detectives investigate and solve murders.  It is something that has always interested me, and I am sure that it always will.  It is on A&E in case you want to check it out.

Those are just a few things that I have loved this month.  What have you enjoyed this month?

Monthly Favorites – September 2016

monthly-favorites-sept-2016

I did a few of this kind of posts in the past, but I think it has been year’s since I have taken the time to write one. Reviews have slowed down for me lately so I figured now would be an excellent opportunity to share some of the things that I am currently loving.

One the things I have been enjoying lately is a book that I am reading to review. The book is called The Kept Woman by Karin Slaughter. I am not going to say much about this book because I will have a review up for it on October fifth. I have enjoyed everything about this book so make sure you check back on the fifth to find out what I loved so much about it.

The next thing I have loved has been adult coloring books. Over the past six months, I have been getting into them. I love coloring with gel pens in them because I have all different types of finishes, and they have such bright colors. I have loved one that is like a journal in the sense that you can write down thoughts you have about a quote or lesson that is taught on the other page. Then you can color the pages or just decorate the pages. I love this because it is journaling, but it also makes you think about God and life. If you are interested in pick this up, you can click here to buy a copy for yourself.

I also have been loving listening to Pandora radio on my way to and from work. I have always had a tremendous passion for music, and I love Pandora because it allows me to listen to all types of different music and it also recommends songs and artists that I might like. I love finding new music, and I have loved Pandora for that reason lately.

I have also been loving binge watching documentaries on YouTube and Netflix. I always have something playing in the background when I am at home on the weekends or even while I am at work during the week. There is one documentary that I watch on Netflix, and I enjoyed it so much I wanted to share it. It is called “Finding Home” and it is about the poor girls that are part of the sex trafficking problem in Cambodia. I have watched this one twice, and it breaks my heart just thinking about what the poor girls are forced to go through and deal with.

Those are a few of the things I have loved this month.  I sure there are more things I could write about but I have run out of time.  Maybe next month I will have more time to share more of the music and movies that I am loving.

What is something you love right now?

Top 10 Most Listened To Songs-April 2016

Top 10 Most Listened To Songs

This week I chose to write about number six which is: Top 10 most listened to songs.  I chose this one because like most of the know I almost always have music playing the background because I love to have background noise when I am doing anything.   As I was going through my archives, I saw that I did a post like this at this time last year so if you want to check out what I was listening to the previous year, you can click here to read it.  Now let’s get on to the songs I love right now.

1-This first song that I have listened to on repeat lately is “Team” by Iggy Azalea.  I am not sure what it is about this song, but right when I heard it I had to buy it, and I listen to all the time as I am driving to and from work.

2-The next song that I have loved lately is “Move Bitch” by Ludacris.  I always listen to this song when I am pissed off by the stupid drivers as I am driving to and from work.

3- Another song I have loved lately is “Good Morning” by Chamillionaire.  This song has always made me smile, and it is how I feel about people who dislike me.  It can always put me in a good mood.

4-“Viva la Vida” by Coldplay I have always liked this song but I forgot about it until the Super Bowl this past year.

5-“Roads” by Chris Mann-I got a copy of this CD back in 2012 to review, and this has always been my one favorite song of his.  I am not huge into Christian music, but I do love this song, and I am sure it will always be one that I will listen to.

6-“The Sound Of Silence” by Celtic Thunder-If you have been around for the past few years you know that I am a huge fan of Celtic Thunder, and this song is one that I have loved lately from them.

7-Live You Life (feat. Rihanna) by T.I.– There isn’t much I can say about this song because like most of the others on this list it is an older song that I have listened to for years.

8-Fly Away by Nelly– I love most of the songs that Nelly has released but if I had to pick one that is my favorite of his it would be this one.  I love everything about this song, and I am sure that won’t change anytime soon.

9-Straight Tequila Night by John Anderson– I remember this song from my childhood and so I knew I had to include it on this list.  I totally forgot about this song until last year when I started listening to 90’s country on Pandora, and I was reminded of all the songs I loved when I was a kid.

10-Wild Ones (feat. Sia) by Flo Rida– I always find myself singing this song as I am driving home from work.  Then again I am always singing songs by Flo Rida because they are so catching and they tend to get stuck in my head.

Those are the ten songs that I am currently loving.  I also wanted to include one other song because after I was done writing this post the song started playing and I knew I wanted to post it.  The song I am talking about is “Love Yourself” by Justin Bieber.  I  wasn’t a huge fan of this song when I first heard it but last month I fell in love with it, and I have been known to put it on repeat for the entire drive home from work.

I am always on the lookout for new music so what songs are you currently loving and what would you recommend to me?

If you want to join in and write about one of the prompts I have listed them all below so, you can pick one.  If you have written about one, please let me know in the comments so I can go and check it out.

I have finally slowed down with book reviews so I can now get back to posting about things other than only reviews.  I do love posting reviews on books but it does get old quickly.  Anyway today I am going to talk about my top 5 favorite movies.  This was hard for me to decided because I love so many movies but I did manage to get the list down to just 5.

8 Of The Best Reasons To Live In Utah

reasons to live in utah

This was a prompt from the writers workshop a few weeks ago and I wanted to write about it because I always complain about living in Utah but there are some great things about living here as well.  I am going to list a few of the reasons that I love living in here and why.

  1. I love that we have all four seasons.  I know I always complain about how hot summers are and how cold it is in the winter but it is so nice to have all 4 seasons and not just one or 2 of them.
  2. It is super pretty here almost all year around because of the changing seasons.
  3. I love the mountains and I can’t imagine living in the midwest where it is basically flat.
  4. I love all the different things you can see and do in Utah.
  5. For the most part I love the majority of the people who live here.  There are some people who I can’t stand but for the most part people aren’t to bad here.
  6. I love that I am not looked at funny when people find out I chose not to drink alcohol.  I did drink at one time but now I really don’t see the point in it.
  7. I love going to Temple Square at Christmas time and looking at all the lights they put up.
  8. The last thing reason I love living here is  I am comfortable being here since I was born & raised here.  I know that is a silly reason but for me that is a huge thing because I hate change.

Those are 8 reasons I love living in Utah.  Why do you love the state you live in?

10 Questions

10 Questions

I got the idea for today’s post from The Daily Post and figured I would answer the 10 questions that they had listed because I didn’t have much time to get a post ready for today.  I am always going crazy because I have to get a weeks worth of blogging done before I am off of work during the week of Thanksgiving.

  • What is your favorite word?  I don’t know that I have a favorite word.  I am always saying words wrong on purpose but if I had to pick one word that was my favorite I would have to say it would be Puce.   I like the word because it is fun to say and there is no set color for what color it is.
  • What is your least favorite word? I would have to go with effect & affect because for the life of me I can never remember which one is which and I always end up having to google them and see which one I should be using.
  • What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally?  I would have to say music is what makes me start thinking and wanting to get creative.
  • What turns you off?  Stress and being depressed.
  • What is your favorite curse word?  I would have to say shit is my favorite curse word but I do used some of the others at times as well.
  • What sound or noise do you love?  I can’t really say that there is one sound that I love more than other sounds.  I do love listening to the bag pipes even though they make me want to cry most of the time.
  • What sound or noise do you hate?  I hate nails on the chalkboard and even now just thinking about it make me want to cringe and it also makes my fingers hurt.
  • What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?  I have always wanted to be a life flight nurse so I would love to try that or even being a lawyer.
  • What profession would you not like to do?  I would hate to teach school because I don’t have the patience to do that kind of work.
  • If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?  I am not sure but I know I would want to know why things happened in my life.  I might be the one to ask why before he even got a chance to say anything at all.

If you answer these questions leave the link to your post in the comments so I can check out your answers!
