Joy

Joy

I am not sure where I saw this topic but since it is the week of Christmas I thought it was a great time to write this post and get it posted.  The topic is: List the top 9 things that bring you joy.  So lets get on to the list.

  1. The first thing that came to mind was my nephew Brycen.  We watch him on the weekends and he always makes me smile.
  2. My cats are the next things that bring me joy.  You never know what cats are going to do so it is always a good time watching them.  It is fun that Brycen now tries to play with them and if he didn’t scream when he gets excited I think they would play even more together.
  3. My grandma always brings me joy because she is always saying or doing things that make me laugh.
  4. Books.  Do I really need to explain this one???
  5. Blogging brings me joy because it always me to share books and other things that I love.  It is also my way of connecting with the outside world.
  6. The fact that I have a job makes me happy-Not because I love my job but because I am lucky to have one in today’s society.
  7. The few friends I do have make me happy because they always make me smile and they aren’t high maintenance like other friends I have had.
  8. The great winter weather we have had so far.  Now I know we will be hurting next summer for water since we have hardly had any snow but I don’t miss having to drive in it during rush hour.
  9. That this year is almost over and a new year will start next week.

So those are 9 things that bring me joy.  What is bringing you joy this year?

Most Challenging

Most Challenging This week I am going to write about 1.) The most challenging part about blogging for you is…  I chose this one because now I am really struggling with certain parts of blogging and I wanted to write about them because there are definitely challenges that go along with blogging.

The first thing I have struggled with when it comes to blogging is coming up topics to write about.  I do tons of reviews because I love to read and it was a great way to find new books to read.  It took me awhile to break into the review world but I am glad that I did.  Anyway let’s get back on topic.  Other than reviews I struggle with coming up with things to write about because I am scared to put certain things on my blog because I am worried about the reactions somethings could bring.  I have tried to get more personal when it comes to adoption and Multiple Sclerosis because I know I need to get my feeling out but it is hard to expose certain things about me and let other people in.

Another thing I am finding challenging is finding other blogs to read and comment on so that I can find more readers for my blog.  Since I don’t really have a blogging niche like some blogs do so I am struggling to find other blog’s that are like mine.  I know that people don’t read my blog a lot because of the book reviews but I love doing the reviews so I just need to find a better balance between reviews & personal post I guess.

Those are the things that I find most challenging about blogging now.  Things always change in my world but as for now those are the things that I find the most challenging.  If you have any advice please let me know!

What do you find most challenging about blogging now?

One

One

I chose another prompt from the Daily Post blog and the one I chose this time is:

If you could have a guarantee that one, specific person was reading your blog, who would you want that person to be? Why? What do you want to say to them?

When I read this prompt I knew I wanted to write about it but I wasn’t sure who I would want the one person to be.  I have sat and thought about it and I know who I wouldn’t want to read my blog but as for someone who would I am not so sure.

I don’t think I could just pick one person so I am going to change it to a group of people.  Even as I try and have it be a group of people I still have more than one so I guess I am totally breaking all the rules and just going to list 2 groups of people.

  • I wish young people who are getting diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis at a young age like I did would read this blog.  I know when I was diagnosed it sucked that there was no one around me that was my age.  When we would go to events I was always the youngest person and I wish I would have had someone I could relate to.  It is hard to be 16 years old and be diagnosed with a disease that can’t be cured.
  • I would want book-worms to read my blog because I know before I got into reviewing books I had a really hard time figuring out what to read next and things like that.  I wish I would have had a blog or place to go where I would read reviews of books and a place to read about different types of books.

Those are the two groups of people I would like to read my blog because I think it would be interesting for them.  I am sure there are other groups that would like to read my blog but those are the 2 main groups that I would like to read it.

Who would you want to read your blog?

Hi, My Name Is . . .

My Name Is . . .

This was a prompt from last weeks writers workshop and I had to write about it because it was such a fun topic and there are tons of things that could complete the sentence.  I think I am going to just list things that I am and then explain why on some of them.

  • Birth Mom-I placed my daughter for adoption when I was 20.
  • Blogger
  • Daughter
  • Mom to two crazy cats
  • Book lover
  • Introvert
  • Person who truly loves to be alone
  • Huge football fan-I will watch pretty much any game but I love the University of Utah & the Baltimore Ravens.
  • Suffer of an invisible illness-Multiple Sclerosis
  • College dropout
  • Blog Designer

Those are just the few things that came first to me.  I know I could go on and on with a list but no one has time to read that.

How would you answer the sentence?
