St. Patricks Day 2016

St Patrick's Day 2016

This week for the writer’s workshop I am going to talk about what I will be doing today for St Patrick’s Day.  Not that I ever do anything special for it because since I don’t drink there really isn’t much to do.

One thing that I know, I will listen to one of my favorite musical groups Celtic Thunder. I found them a few years ago, and I have been hooked on watching and listening to their music for years. I also have gotten my grandparents and nephew into them.  On a side note, my nephew turned two this past November and one of the first things he said was Ireland, which always makes me laugh. Now whenever he hears their music or sees one of the DVD’s that I have he always says Ireland.

Since St Patrick’s day is during the week this year I am sure I won’t be doing anything other than working because most days it is all I  can do to get through work and I have no energy left to do anything after work.  If you are looking for something funny to watch you should watch this music video because it still makes me laugh.

I hope that you all have a great and safe St Patrick’s day this year!

Do you have any fun plans for St Patrick’s Day this year?

Here are all the prompts in case you want to join in.

  1. ThrowbackThursday: Choose a photo from a previous March and write a poem or a blog post.
    2. A time you were tricked.
    3. I wish I could…
    4. Write a blog post inspired by the word: Fishy.
    5. What is on your Spring Break “to do” list?
    6. Share how you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Joy

Joy

I am not sure where I saw this topic but since it is the week of Christmas I thought it was a great time to write this post and get it posted.  The topic is: List the top 9 things that bring you joy.  So lets get on to the list.

  1. The first thing that came to mind was my nephew Brycen.  We watch him on the weekends and he always makes me smile.
  2. My cats are the next things that bring me joy.  You never know what cats are going to do so it is always a good time watching them.  It is fun that Brycen now tries to play with them and if he didn’t scream when he gets excited I think they would play even more together.
  3. My grandma always brings me joy because she is always saying or doing things that make me laugh.
  4. Books.  Do I really need to explain this one???
  5. Blogging brings me joy because it always me to share books and other things that I love.  It is also my way of connecting with the outside world.
  6. The fact that I have a job makes me happy-Not because I love my job but because I am lucky to have one in today’s society.
  7. The few friends I do have make me happy because they always make me smile and they aren’t high maintenance like other friends I have had.
  8. The great winter weather we have had so far.  Now I know we will be hurting next summer for water since we have hardly had any snow but I don’t miss having to drive in it during rush hour.
  9. That this year is almost over and a new year will start next week.

So those are 9 things that bring me joy.  What is bringing you joy this year?

Nails Of The Month-Halloween Nails 2014 Edition

NailsI haven’t done one of these posts in months and months but I am in love with my nails right now so I wanted to post a few pictures of them.  They are so different from anything that I have ever seen.  They also are Halloween nails but they are in your face Halloween which is what I wanted this year.

Nails Of The Month-Halloween 2013

Nails Of The Month-Halloween 2013

I am going to show you the nails I had done for Halloween this year.  Now I already have these ones off because I had my nails done on the 28th but I wanted to save this post for Halloween because other than getting my nails done for Halloween I really can’t stand the holiday and most of the things that go along with it.  This year I didn’t want to do orange or any of the others things I have done in the past because I am just over orange and the usual things that people do on their nails.

This year I decided to just do a black cat face with lime green on rest of the nails.  Here are the pictures of my Halloween 2013 nails:

I have to say that I have heard “those are cute Halloween nails” more than I thought I would.  I guess you can see that they are Halloween nails but they aren’t over the top and your typical Halloween colors & design.

What do you think???

Nails Of The Month-Spring/Easter Nails

NailsI don’t think anyone who reads my blog knows that I get my nails done every 3 weeks and I am always doing something crazy with them because I think it is fun and it is one way I can do something crazy and if I end up not liking it then I only have to wait 3 weeks for it to go away.  People always like to see them on my private Facebook page so I thought that I would post them on my blog because you guys might like to see them and it will also give other idea’s for things to do on their nails.

This time we did bright colors because I love bright colors and they look a little bit like fun colored Easter eggs.  We used 3 colors this time and here are a few pictures of them:

Musical Monday’s-Memorial Day

If you would like to play along with this new meme all you have to do is:

  • Grab the button
  • Write a post that includes a song and why you like that song
  • Come back and link up!

This week for the songs I have chosen songs that are patriotic because of Memorial Day.  The first two I have loved for ever as for the 3rd one I just found it this past week and it made me cry!  I hope you all enjoy the songs!

1. On a scale of 1-10, how superstitious are you, honestly?
Probably like a 5 or so.
2. Julius Caesar is quoted as saying, “I came, I saw, I conquered.” Which circumstance or experience of yours does this saying best describe?
Everything in my life to be honest with you.  I feel as if I have had that attitude a lot because I haven’t had any options but to conquer things that are put in front of me.
3. If I peeked in on your day like a mischievous little leprechaun, at what time would I most likely find you blogging?
While I am at work or after work in the middle of the night when I should be sleeping.
4. Re springing forward for Daylight Saving Time, is there anything you’ve ever been really early or really late for?
I always try and be places early because if I am going to be late I don’t want to go at all.
5. What are you most looking forward to concerning Spring?
The warmer weather and being able to ride around town with my sun roof open on my car.
6. Shamrocks are the national flower of Ireland and are picked on St. Patrick’s Day and worn on the lapel or shoulder. Do you wear green on St. Patty’s Day?
Yes I do only because little kids take things to far if you aren’t wearing green.
7. One of Caesar’s assassins, Casca, said, “But, for my own part, it was Greek to me,” which of course means he didn’t understand something. Probably his own lines in the play. Anyway, what is something that is “Greek to you,” something incomprehensible or indecipherable?
How some people are such idiots and can keep making the same mistakes over and over again with out learning from them the first couple of times.
8. Is March behaving more like a lion or a lamb where you live?
Both-It is bi-polar like it always is.
9. “An extra yawn one morning in the springtime, an extra snooze one night in the autumn is all that we ask in return for dazzling gifts. We borrow an hour one night in April; we pay it back with golden interest five months later.” -Winston Churchill. If you had one extra hour per day every day, what would you do with it?
Sleep or at least try and sleep because I never get enough sleep that is for sure.
10. Legend says that every Leprechaun has a pot of gold hidden deep in the Irish countryside. Aside from real gold or money, what material item would be in your dream pot of gold?
A house of my own
11. “The best things are nearest: breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes, flowers at your feet, duties at your hand, the path of God just before you.” Robert Louis Stevenson. Look around you right now and tell us about something essential or beautiful very near you that you take for granted every day.
Misti-She is always there for me and some days I take that for granted.  I try not to but if someone is always there and you work with them it is hard to not take it for granted.  At least it is for me anyways.
12. Just for a bit o’ fun, click here  and then report your Irish name.
My Irish name is: Jacinta McNamara
