Blogger Cliques

I was looking through Kludy Mom’s Idea Bank and saw this topic: Do you feel there are blogger cliques? And if so, where do you fit in?  When I saw it I knew I had to write about it because I do think that cliques happen in the blog world just like they happen in real life. I blogged for about a year before I started to find other blogs to read.  I of course found some of the big blogs when I was starting and I loved them but then drama started between one group of them and another group.  I stayed out of it and wasn’t sure what they were really arguing and fighting about but when I happened I literally stopped reading all of their blogs because I hate dealing with drama and crap that reminds me of high school.

As most of you know I am slowing starting my own design business and I have seen that there are also cliques in the design world.  I really have tried to stay out of them because I just don’t play that game and I also want to be friend with everyone.  I do have a really great friend who taught me all I know and is still around to help and give me advice.  Other than her I don’t really talk to other designers because I refuse to deal with drama and cliques.

I really just don’t see the need for cliques because as bloggers would should all support each other.  Drama of it all just gets old!

What do you guys think of cliques in the blog world?

Pet Peeves

Today I am going to make a list of some of my pet peeves.  I am sure I will forget some of  them so this will be updated at some point.  I got this topic from Kludgy Mom’s Idea Bank.

  • Hearing people chew their food.  I have to get up and leave the room if someone is chewing loudly because it is like nails on a chalk board  to me.
  • People coming up to my desk and just staring at me and not saying anything at all.
  • People that keep stealing stuff even though they know I know!
  • When my brother and grandma start to argue in the middle of the night and wake me up when I have to get up and go to work in the morning.
  • Getting woken up by someone
  • Drivers that don’t speed up on the on ramp to the freeway so that it is harder to merge into traffic.
  • When people call at work and don’t know who they want and they expect me to be able to read their mind and know who they need
  • People eating my food.  If someone has a bite of my food I won’t eat the rest of it.
  • Bullying of any kind.
  • People who sneeze so loud that it sounds like they are yelling.
  • People who have office close to each other but instead of going to one of the offices they just yell back and forth to each other.
  • Drama

Those are all that I can think of right now but I am sure I will come up with more.  What are your pet peeves?

Cattiness In Women

Women GossipingI have been looking for places to get topics to blog about and I recently found this site that has tons of different topics to write about.  I chose: Talk about cattiness in women.  I chose this one because I work in a building full of men and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  Now don’t get me wrong the men I work with drive me crazy to say the least but the don’t have all the drama that women have.  The guys still have their days but for the most part they are 100 times better than women are to work with.

When I saw this topic the first thing that popped into my head was beauty salons.  Some of you may know that I get my nails done so that means I spend a lot of time in a salon.  Let me just saw that the lady I go to now doesn’t have hardly any drama but all the other people I have seen always have drama.  There is always someone talking about someone else.  I can’t figure out why women talk about each other.  I can’t stand listening to all the gossip that goes on at salons or with women in general.

Growing up I didn’t have hardly any girlfriends because I would get so tired of the drama and women will turn on people in a heart beat.  I also didn’t attend church once I got into high school because of all the drama that got carried over from school. I have never been the person to talk about others and I also have never understood why women are always talking about each other.  If I had to guess at a reason I would guess it was women are always so jealous of each other.  We are always seem to be judging each other.  I think women need to build each other up and not knock each other down.   I know if women stopped talking about each other that more women would be okay with themselves and not depressed.

I am sure this post rambled on but it is how the thoughts came to me!

Drug Addictions

Mama’s Losin’ It

This week for the writers workshop I picked to write about 2.) Amy Winehouse died. Another name amidst a growing list of talented celebrities lost to addiction. Your reaction.

It makes me sad to hear about anyone who dies because of their addictions.  There are tons of people each year that die because of addictions and yet people only seem to care about the celebrities.  It makes me sad to know that people do die because their brains think they need the drugs and alcohol.   When I in college the fall Sophomore year, which is the same sememster that I got pregnant, I moved into a new dorm apartment and I was living with 2 drug addicts.  I would go home on weekends because I worked at Kmart by my parents house.  I would leave on Friday afternoons and when I got back Sunday night they were still on the couch when they had been when I left.  I was going home for Thanksgiving and I realized that I hadn’t seen the roommate what was staying in the dorms for the holiday.  After I left I knew something was wrong so I called the housing office and had them go and check on her.  By the time I got home which was 45 minutes later or so I got a call from one of the campus cops I knew that they found her dead.  She was big into prescription drugs.  The night before she had passed out on her bathroom floor but she was breathing and I refused to babysit grow adults.  When I woke up in the morning she wasn’t there anymore so I figured she had moved into her room.

It was such a shock to realize that her addictions killed her.  I still look back and I can see what was happening and I watched her get in so deep with her addiction that it killed her.  I moved home during Christmas break and I have always wondered what ever happened to the other roommate.  I know she was into drugs heavy as well and I wonder if they killed her or if she is still around.  I always hoped that she got sober but I doubt that she did.  I hate to hear about other people that die because of their addictions because it is such a waste of a life.  They miss out on so much all because of a drug they think they need to survive.

We need to focus more on the everyday people that die then on the celebrities that pass way.  It is sad that they die but they do have more resources to get sober if they want to.  Average people don’t have the resources that celebrities do to get sober.  We need to make more programs for people that need/want to get sober.

That post is random but that is how my brain works!  I hope everyone has a great Thursday!

Simple Things

Mama’s Losin’ It

This week for the Writers Workshop I am going to write about 1.) The simple things..

It is the simple things in life that make me happy:

Going home and chasing my girls around the house

Or listening to Sylvia “bark” like she is a dog

Hanging out with Misti just talking and laughing

Designing blogs for people

Laughing at the crazy things that people will say or do

Being around my grandma who can always make me laugh

Blogging

Reading good books

With out all the simple things that make me happy life would be depressing!

Hardest Thing About Blogging

Mama’s Losin’ It

This week for the Writers Workshop I picked #3-What do you find most challenging about blogging?

I find a lot about blogging challenging but that is because I want to know how everything works.  I am getting into design blogs and that leaves little time to actually write blog posts.  It amazes me how people can design blogs and also find time to blog as well.  I guess part of my problem is that I work from 8-5 Monday through Friday and then go home at work on designs.  I seem to be working all the time and that leaves little time to actually blog.  I also have a hard time trying to figure out what I want to write.  I have tons of post sitting in my drafts folder but I don’t know how to finish any of them.  I always have great ideas for post and then after I start them I get busy and never finish them.
