Band Back Together

Right Click

Right Click

This was the prompt for last weeks writers workshop and I still wanted to use it so I figured it is better late than never!  Anyway I chose to write about number 5 which is: Open a blank blog post and “right click paste” in the body of the post…what was pasted?Explain it.  Since this won’t take long for just one I figured I would do it a couple of times so you can see some of the different things I copy & paste during the day.

This is the latest thing that I copied & pasted:

Maybelle In Stitches by Joyce Magnin was a great book to read.  I loved this book from the first page right up until the end. I love all books that take place during WWII and this one didn’t let me down.

Which is part of a review I wrote about the book “Maybelle In Stitches” by Joyce Magnin.  If you want to check out this review please check back tomorrow.

Here is another thing that I copied & pasted:

This is a link to a funny fail video that I watched and sent to a friend in the office so that she could have something to laugh at because everyone needs to laugh.

The next thing I copied & pasted was the post for Monday from “Band Back Together”.  I don’t want to repost the story here so I will just post the link to the story so you all can go and check it out:

Not An Accident

I volunteer with The Band and I post the posts from the site on their Tumblr page on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday so that is why I copied the whole post.

Those are a few of things that I copied & pasted the past few days.  What is

Most Important Thing In My Life Right Now

Important

This is a question that was on Band Back Together site a few weeks ago and I am just getting around to writing the post about it.  The question is what is the most important thing in my life.  This was something that was easy for me to answer because I know without a doubt that the most important things to me are my two cats.

I could live without pretty much everything else but I don’t know how I would live without my two girls.  It is crazy to me how much my two cats have become like my kids and are “replacement” kids for my daughter I placed for adoption.  I am not sure people who haven’t placed a child for adoption would understand that last statement and I am not sure how to explain it to make them understand.  I guess the best way to explain it is that when you place your child for adoption you still have the desire to mother something so instead getting pregnant again I got my two girls.

Favorite Way To Take Care Of Myself-#Band Back Together

What is your favorite ways to take care of yourself?

I am not sure how many of you read this post where I talk about volunteering for The Band Back Together project.  I am still helping them out and they have started a new thing where on Friday’s that post a question for people to answer and since I am always trying to find things other than book reviews to write about I am going to start writing about them.

Today I am going to answer the question that was asked in this post of theirs: What is your favorite ways to take care of yourself?

  • I have found that lately my favorite way to take care of myself is once I leave work I don’t turn on a computer and I try not to use my phone.  I find that if I am always connected to social media I tend to get burnt out super quick.  When I am home from work I don’t turn on a computer and I just relax so that maybe I will be able to sleep without taking any medication.
  • Another way I like to take care of myself is to read books and as I am sure you can tell I have no shortage of books to read right now.
  • I also take the time to laugh.  My grandma and I are always laughing about something.  Laughter can brighten any day and make a bad day better.  I have learned to not take the world so seriously and laughing helps me do that.
  • I also get my nails done ever 3 weeks.  Which is a great way for me to relax and change things up.  I have started to post what my nails look like after I get them done so if you are interested you can check out those post right here!

What do you do to take care of yourself?

The Band

The Band Back Together Project

I am not sure if everyone knows what The Band is and since I recently started volunteering for them I wanted to write a post about it and introduce to what a great site it is.  I have been reading the stories on Band Back Together since it was started in 2010.  It is an amazing place where you can share stories from your own life of just read others stories and comment.  I haven’t shared any stories from my past yet but it is something that I hope I will be able to write about and have posted over there.

I recently joined the site and I am now volunteering and helping out with the site.  I have met some great people through the site and I have also learned so much.  I love to read others stories and take the lessons that they have learned and apply them in my own life.  It is such a safe place for people to go and write their stories because you don’t have to worry about getting rude and/or mean comments.

We all know there are things that we don’t want to share on our own blogs or that we aren’t at a point where we  can share them openly.  I am personally at the stage where I am not willing to share some parts of my past openly but I am going to share them over there because no one will know it is me.

If you have checked out the site yet please go and stop by because everyone needs to hear nice things and it truly does help the people who have submitted a post.   Also if you would like to volunteer send an email to volunteer at bandbacktogether dot com.  You don’t have to worry about a huge time commitment because you don’t have to do tons of things if you don’t have the time.  Right now I spend a like 30 mins or so a day and that is all.  I am hoping in time I can do more but for now 30 mins is what I have and they are happy with that.

Go check out the site and let me know what you think!
