Book Review

Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Beth K. Vogt was a fun book to read.  The one thing that stuck with me throughout the entire book is how much didn’t like Ted.  There wasn’t any point in this book where I liked him and how he acted.  At first I wasn’t a huge fan of Vanessa because of how she let Ted talk her into something that she didn’t want but after I was a few chapters in I really did start to like her.  The one character that I loved from the first time he showed up was Logan and to be honest is the reason I kept reading in the beginning.  I do love this authors style of writing and I have read a couple of other books by her and she has never let me down.  I loved how this book end and I can’t wait to read more books in this series.

Among the Fair Magnolias

Book Review

Among the Fair Magnolias was a fun story to read.  This is another  book where there are 4 different stories in the same book and each story is written by a different author.  I love all the stories in this book but if I had to pick one that was my favorite it would have to be the first story.  I think it is because I related most to the characters in the first story more and any of the other characters.  I also love that all the stories are short because I don’t feel bad if I read one of the stories and then put the book down for awhile.  This stories all take place during the years of the civil war so it was nice to get a glimpse of what like was life for people who had money.  If you are looking for an easy read than I would for sure check out this book.

Book Review

Detained by Don Brown was an amazing book.  I wasn’t sure when I requested this book to review that I was going to like it but I really enjoyed reading it.  I think part of that is because I wondered if things like this really happen because it wouldn’t shock me if they really did happen.  Anyway I loved the author’s writing and how could make you feel as if you are there with the characters.  I felt so bad for Nijib & Hasan and had to keep reading because I had to know what happened to them.  This book wasn’t a hard read and it is something that I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a good mystery book.

Two Hearts by James Eric Richey was an okay book to read.  This was hard for me to get into and I don’t know that I ever really got into it.  I felt like some parts of the book were rushed and other parts were super long and could have been cut down.  With all the being said I still enjoyed the characters and the setting of the book.  I loved following along with Jaxon & Annie as they grew up and that things that they went through as a married couple.  I really did like Annie and felt bad for her because of the things that her mother told her about men.  If I am being honest I wasn’t a huge fan  Jaxon through parts of the  book but in the end I like him more than I hated him.  If you are looking for a romance novel that is more like something that could happen in real life I would for sure recommend this book to you.

James Eric Richey was born and raised in California. He attended Brigham Young University, studying English with an emphasis in Literature. After graduating from BYU he returned home to California to further his education by attending law school. After passing the bar, James practiced in California for several years, but he quickly learned that he did not have a passion for the law.

In 1998 James obtained his real estate appraiser license, which has given him a flexible work schedule and allowed him to pursue his true passion, writing books. Book Review

A Heart’s Promise by Colleen Coble was a great addition to this series.  If you have missed the other 4 reviews I have them listed right below this review so you can check them out.  You do have to read the books in this series in order because these books were originally one book that they broke them up into 6 different books.  Anyway lets get to the review of this book.  I think this may be my favorite book in this series so far.  I think I love these characters the most out of any of them.  I loved this series so much that I read the last book in the series so I know how the series ends but I will get into the ending next month.  I still felt so bad for Emmie because of everything that she has to go through and the things that have happened to her.  I have to say that I am still not a fan of Jessica and I really wish that she wasn’t in this book but I understand why she was and what not.  If you are looking for a great series of books than I would for sure recommend this book to you.  They are all about 100 pages so they are super quick and easy reads.

Getting It Right The Second Time Around by Jennifer Frank

Book Review

Getting It Right The Second Time Around by Jennifer Frank was a great book.  I loved the characters in this book.  I just smiled when they were reading Alison’s aunts will.  I have to wonder if people actually do things like this because I think it is a great idea and something I may do when I am older.  Anyway I loved everything about this book and I think it helped that I have a cat named Elinor so I instantly love her.  I loved reading as Alison gets her second chance and get to re-do things.   I am sitting here thinking about this book and trying to write this review I just keep thinking about how much I love aunt Elinor and how I wished she had been around more during this story.  I loved this book and I can’t wait to read more stories by this author in the future.
