The Revealing by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Book Review Graphic

The Revealing by Suzanne Woods Fisher wasn’t the book for me.  I have read the other two books in the series and for some reason this book just didn’t work for me and I am not sure why.  I feel bad for Naomi throughout the book though. I remember towards the end of the 2nd book that I wasn’t super impressed but I had one hard time getting through and finishing this book.  I was glad to get to see the characters again and find out what was going on with them.   I love Amish fiction but this just wasn’t the book for me.  I would still recommend them though because I didn’t really enjoy the first book & most of the 2nd book.

The Revealing

About The Book

Naomi King, soft spoken, loyal, and easily overlooked, has a gift. She sees what others can’t see. Intuition, she calls it. Others in Stoney Ridge don’t know what to make of it and dismiss her hunches and inklings altogether.

When a young woman arrives at the Inn at Eagle Hill with a shocking secret about Tobe Schrock, Naomi fears the worst. She can’t ignore the feeling that something sinister is at work— something more than a threat to the tenuous love begun between her and Tobe.

As signs mount, they begin to point to Jake Hertzler, the elusive mastermind behind Schrock Investments’ downfall. Soon, events spiral hopelessly out of control and Naomi must decide whether to listen to her head or her heart.

In this riveting conclusion to The Inn at Eagle Hill series, bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher pulls out all the stops with a fast-paced tale of deception, revelation, and just the right dose of romance.

Hidden Under Her Heart by Rachelle Ayala

Book Review Graphic

Hidden Under Her Heart by Rachelle Ayala was a fun book to read.  I realized that I had already read part of this book because it is part of the boxed set called Chance for Love.  Getting this one to review again gave me a reason to finally sit down and finish this book.  I did feel that at times this book was rushed and I couldn’t see things happening that fast in the real world but that didn’t really make me not like this story.  This is a sweet story and I would recommend it to anyone who loves to read books like I do.  I would recommend just buying the box set though and reading all 3 books in the series.

Hidden Under Her Heart

Four Weddings And A Kiss

Book Review Graphic

Four Weddings and a Kiss was a great book to read.  I love books like this one because it is just a collection of 4 short stories written by different authors.  I love that you get to read 4 different authors stories in one book and have to stories all tie in together at the end.  I read another book like this one before and I loved it just as much as I loved this one.  These stories all have to do with unlikely people falling in love and getting married.  All of these stories made me laugh at points and I was sad when I finished the book because I loved tall the characters and the story lines.

Blue Midnight by Tess Thompson

Book Review Graphic

Blue Midnight by Tess Thompson was another amazing book.  This is the second book I have read by Tess Thompson and I have to say that I wasn’t let down.  She is an amazing author and I am so glad I get the chance to review her books.  Anyway let’s get on to the review for this book.  I loved all the characters and from the first page of this book I felt bad for Blythe and I spent the book hoping that everything worked out good for her.  I am always a sucker for love stories and this one didn’t let me down in the least.

About The Book

“If you change your mind, here’s this.” Finn Lanigan kissed a young Blythe Heywood one last time under an Idaho star-scattered sky. It was the last kiss that ever weakened her knees, the last sky she noticed for over a dozen years. Then she left, returning to her fiancé, the wedding she’d committed to and the secure life she’d yearned for since she was a little girl.

Thirteen years later, her husband leaves Blythe for his young associate. Devastated, she’s unable to imagine the next chapter of her life as she packs her family’s belonging to move across town. Unexpectedly, she finds the forgotten slip of paper in the back of drawer.

Finn Lanigan – 208-555-2004

Hadn’t she tossed it years before, in one of the moments that first year of marriage when she vowed to be the perfect wife and mother? Apparently not. Here it remained. Her road not taken.

Facing three weeks without her young daughters, Blythe sets out to find the man she left behind so long ago. With only the name of the small town where he once lived, Peregrine, Idaho, and the memory of their last kiss under a starry sky, she heads across the Pacific Northwest in search of him.

What she finds in the foothills of Blue Mountain challenges everything she thought she knew and is the very last thing she expected. Within days, her life changes forever. But it is her destiny and destinies cannot be denied.

The first book of the Lanigan Clan Collection, laced with Thompson’s multifaceted and diverse characters, “Blue Midnight” is a mature love story about second chances, family and the complexities of trust and vulnerability after betrayal.

A Mothers Secret by Amy Clipston

Book Review Graphic

A Mother’s Secret by Amy Clipston was another great fiction book about the Amish.  This is the first book from this author that I have read and I have to say that I loved it.  I loved that in this book Carolyn had a son when she wasn’t married and only 16 years old.  The reason for this is that this is the first book where a current issue in today’s society was brought into the story and I really admired the author for stepping out of the box a little bit and making the story a little more relatable.  I loved this book but there were parts for it is flow the best but I was able to look past those parts because I wanted everything to work out for Carolyn & her son Ben.  I loved the ending of the book but it did seem rushed and I wish there would have been more to the ending than there was.  If you love Amish fiction that I would add this one to your most read list for sure.

A Mothers Secret

About The Book

Book two in the Hearts of the Lancaster Grand Hotel series.

Carolyn Lapp dreams of marrying for love. But will the errors of her past destroy this dream forever?

Carolyn Lapp longs to have a traditional Amish family. But she lives on her brother’s farm with her parents and her 15-year old son, Benjamin. Carolyn has never revealed the identity of Benjamin’s father and lives daily with the guilt and shame of her youthful indiscretion. Her brother simply will not forgive her.

His answer is to arrange a practical marriage for Carolyn to Saul, a widower with a little girl. But Carolyn isn’t convinced that Saul really loves her and believes he is simply looking for someone to help raise his daughter.

When Benjamin causes trouble at a local horse auction, horse breeder Joshua Glick decides that he must be taught a lesson. Carolyn and Joshua are unmistakably drawn to each other, but Joshua mistakenly assumes that Benjamin is Carolyn’s brother. Carolyn fears that if he discovers the truth, her past will destroy their budding romance.

After years of shame and loneliness, Carolyn suddenly has two men vying for her attention. But which of them will give her the family-and the unconditional love-she’s longed for?

Rival Hearts by Tara Randel

Book Review Graphic

Rival Hearts by Tara Randel is another book in the Quilts of Love series.  Once again I wasn’t let down by this series or this author.  I read this book in a few hours and I have to say I sad when it was over because I fell in love with the characters and the authors writing.   This is the first book by this author that I have read and I can’t wait to check out other books by her.

Anyway let’s talk about this book.  In this book you get to know Molly & Ben as the compete to get the same job at the publishing company that they work for.  They have to basically switch places and focus on the other person’s job.  So Ben has to make a quilt while Molly has to learn and go kayaking.  After the complete their different tasks they had to write about them and their boss would then chose who he thought would be best for job.  I love the ending of the book and I have to say that I wasn’t shocked at all by the final turn the  book did take but in all it was a great book and I am so glad I received it to read.
