What is World’s Best Story?

“This is not just a literary contest, we’re looking for stories that will be consumed in multiple media formats – from books to the big screen and beyond,” says Vincent Salera, founder of World’s Best Story. “Our goal is to revolutionize the traditional literary contest and identify a story with blockbuster appeal. We’re looking for a story that audiences will love and help authors turn that story into trans-media franchises, which is why we’re empowering readers to judge the contest.”

How does it work?

Readers will vote for stories and awarded judges will declare the final Top 10 winners.

About the author:

Weekly Wrap-Up

I have felt like I was behind all week and because of that fact I am so glad that it is Friday and I have a few days off to try to get things “caught up”.  I mean with blogging you can never really be ahead of the game because there is always something that needs to be done but I try to stay a week ahead with my posts and because I was off of work the end of last week I didn’t get and of this week’s posts done or even started to so I have written them all at the last-minute and that is never a fun thing.

More More Time by David B. Seaburn

Book Review

More More Time by David B. Seaburn was such an interesting book.  There were times during the first few chapters that I got confused but once you have met all the characters it is easy to follow along and you are able to understand it all.  I loved learning how all the characters were connected and see how they all interacted with each other.  I really like Max and I found myself feeling bad for him because I can’t even imagine how it would be to hear voices all the time and to feel like you are going crazy.  If you love general fiction than you should check this one out.  If you have read it what did you think of it?

Seaburn served a rural country parish, worked in community mental health, was an assistant professor of psychiatry and family medicine at the University of Rochester Medical Center for twenty years, and also directed a free public school-based family counseling center before his retirement in 2010. He has written five novels: More More Time (2015), Chimney Bluffs (2012), Charlie No Face (2011—Finalist in General Fiction, National Indie Excellence Awards), Pumpkin Hill (2007), and Darkness is as Light (2005). He and his wife live near Rochester, NY. They have two adult daughters and two wonderful granddaughters.

House of Thieves by Charles Belfoure

Book Review

House of Thieves by Charles Belfoure was a great book.  I loved this book because it gives you enough information and details to understand the story but it  doesn’t give you so much that you get bogged down in the details.  I hate reading books where you get lost in all the details and I was so happy that this book wasn’t like that.  I loved almost everything about this book and the one thing I didn’t like was how long of book that this was.  I have been having a hard time reading bigger books lately so I would read it for awhile and then pick up another book for awhile and come back later.  This was a great historical novel and one that I think you should look into reading if you love historical novels.

Avalon: a Heartwarming True Cat Story by Vanessa Morgan was such a good book to read.  As most of you know I am a total cat person so when the author contacted me about reviewing this book I knew I had to.  I can’t say no to books written about cats because they always make me laugh and I can imagine whatever is going on happening with my own cats.  Now that being said I am so glad that neither of my cats are as crazy as Avalon but I still couldn’t help but laugh at the things that he did because I could totally see some cat do everything he did and more.  I like the author couldn’t/wouldn’t get rid of my cat just because they were acting all sorts of crazy.  If you are an animal person or if you want to read a story that will leave you smiling than I would for sure recommend this book to you.
