An Amish Year by Beth Wiseman was an excellent book.  I love books like this because I love the shorter stories and the fact that I can read through one quickly and move on to a new thing.  I liked that they put definitions of some of the words that the Amish use so that if you haven’t read books in this genre before you will be able to understand and follow along with the stories.  I have read enough books that I don’t need the information, but if you are new, then I know you will love it.  Out of the four stories that are in this book, I think I liked the first story the most.  I felt like I could relate to Rosemary out of all the characters and her story was my favorite out of the four stories.  I would recommend this book to people who don’t have tons of time to read because since they are short stories you can just read one and then put it down and walk away from it for awhile without having to remember what happened before.

A Sons Vow by Shelley Shepard Gray was another great book.  I love all of the books about the Amish that Shelley has written, but if I am honest, this book has to be one of my favorites.  I like Darla from the start and even though I didn’t like some of the things that Aaron did I had a soft spot for him because felt he was more relatable than some other characters.  I am a huge fan of these books because I love that I don’t have to worry about what will be in the books, and they always are such sweet stories.  I would recommend this genre to anyone who is looking for a change in what they are reading because I don’t think that anyone would hate these books.  They are always easy reading and great stories.  I love that I always feel good after I finish one of the books, and I know you will probably love it as well.

The Bishop’s Son By Kelly Irvin was a good book to read.  I have lots of Amish fiction books than this book was one of the better ones that I have read.  I have always loved to read these book so when I saw this book on BookLook I knew I had to requested and check it out.  I am so glad that I did because this is an amazing author who was able to make me feel like I was there with the characters and I also was able to understand why they made the choices that they did.  I enjoyed everything about this book and I can’t wait to check out the others books in this series as well as the other books that she has read.  If you love Amish fiction I would for sure recommend this book to you.  If you have read it what did you think about the story?

Kelly Irvin’s latest book in the New Hope Amish series, A Plain Love Song, releases in July 2014. She is the author of the Bliss Creek Amish series and the New Amish Amish series. The first series includes To Love and To Cherish, A Heart Made New, and Love’s Journey Home, published by Harvest House. Love Still Stands, the first book in her spin-off series New Hope Amish, released in September 2013, followed by Love Redeemed in March 2014.

Kelly is now working on a three-book series for Zondervan set in Bee County, Texas. The first book in The Amish of Bee County series, The Beekeeper’s Son, is set to release in January 2015.

Book Review

A Wedding At The Orange Blossom Inn by Shelley Shepard Gray was great book the series.  I love that you don’t have to read all the books in order because there are times when you are just interested in one of the books.  I am never let down by the books that Shelley writes and this one was another amazing book.  I think the two main characters in this book are two of my favorite characters because I feel like these are two of the most relatable.  I had to laugh at the crazy things that Frankie did  throughout the book because I could total see a beagle doing those things.  If you love Amish fiction I would recommend this book as long as this author.

Book Review

The Photograph by Beverly Lewis was a great Amish fiction story.  I love fiction stories about the Amish and this book didn’t let me down in the least.  This is the first book that I have read by this author and I can’t wait to check out more of her books.  Anyway let’s get on to my review of this book.  I loved all the characters and the setting of this book.  It is always refreshing to read this books because you don’t have to worry about what might happen in the books because they are always clean and they are also up lifting.  This book was all of those things and so much more.  If you love Amish fiction than I know you will this book.

Book Review

Balm of Gilead by Adina Senft was a good Amish fiction book to read.  This is the 3rd book in the series and I didn’t read the first two and I was able to figure out what was going on for the most part.  That being said you can read this one first but if it were me I would start from the start because there were parts of the story that I wished I knew the back story but I was still able to read this book and not get too lost.  I really enjoyed this book it was a little slow during certain parts but not so slow that I wanted to put the book down and not come back to it.  If you love Amish fiction than I would for sure recommend this book to you.

Adina Senft grew up in a plain house church, where she was often asked by outsiders if she was Amish (the answer was no), she made her own clothes, and she perfected the art of the French braid. She holds an M.F.A. in Writing Popular Fiction from Seton Hill University in Pennsylvania, where she teaches as adjunct faculty.

Writing as Shelley Bates, she was the winner of RWA’s RITA Award for Best Inspirational Novel in 2005, a finalist for that award in 2006, and, writing as Shelley Adina, was a Christy Award finalist in 2009.
