10 Things I Miss About Being A Kid

10 Things I Miss About Being A Kid

This week for the writers workshop I am going to write about number 5 which is 10 things I miss about being a kid.  This is pretty easy for me since I always find myself telling kids to enjoy being young because being an adult sucks!  So here are the 10 things I miss about being a kid.

  1. I miss not having to do anything but go to school during the week.
  2. I miss the fact that now I have to worry about money and paying bills.
  3. I miss that I really didn’t have a care in the world and I could pretty much do whatever.
  4. I miss how things were back then.  I hate how in todays society you have so many more worries and concerns than there used to be.  I guess the best way to describe what I am trying to say is by saying how bully’s are today and how you can’t even escape them when you are at home like you could when I was a kid.
  5. I miss the fact that I wasn’t sick like I am now and that I could do more things than I am able to now.
  6. I miss the fact that I could sleep.  It is crazy to me how as a kid I hated going to bed but now that I basically can’t go to bed and sleep without taking something I miss being able to lay down and just sleep without taking anything.
  7. I miss not having any major responsibilities such as going to work or paying doctors bills.
  8. I hate that I know have to keep track of doctors appointments and any other appointments that come up.
  9. I hate that I can’t just ask my parents for money anymore when I run out of money during the month.
  10. I miss how I used to feel safe when I was younger and I never had a care in the world.  Now you hear all the time about kidnappings and things like that which makes me not want to raise kids in todays society.

Those are the first 10 things that came to my mind but I am sure after I post this I will think of a tons more things that I miss.  That being said what do you miss about being a kid?

6 Reasons. . .

This week for the Writers Workshop I am going to write about about 6 reasons I am looking forward to fall this year.

  1. First I am so ready for the hot weather to be gone and for it cool down.  It has been so super hot all summer and I am so over the heat and how it makes me feel.
  2. Fall time means that it is time for football again and everyone who read’s me regularly knows how much I love everything football.
  3. I love the foods that my grandma tends to make in fall like Chili and those types of foods.
  4. The 3rd book in the Divergent series comes out on October 22 I believe it is.
  5. My shows start with new episodes which is always a good thing because I am so tired of watching reruns of all my shows.
  6. The leaves changing colors.  I don’t usually go and look at them but I love to look up at the mountains and see them changing colors.  There is just something pretty about fall in Utah.

Those are 6 reasons that I am looking forward to fall this year. Why are you looking forward to fall?

I Always Wanted To Be . . . 21

21

This week for the writers workshop I am going to be talking about the age I always wanted to be.  As long as I can remember I wanted to be 21 because I figured that once I was 21 I could do everything so there was no reason to get any older.  Now that I am almost 29 I still want to only be 21.

Best part of me wanting to be 21 was that when I turned 21 I didn’t drink in fact I didn’t drink until I was 22 and now I still don’t really drink because I hate the taste and I hate the way it makes me feel.  To this day I am not sure why I wanted to be 21 but I did.  I still remember my birthday that year because it was a few months after I had my daughter and it was still a rough time for me.

It is crazy to me how everyone always wants to be different ages.  One of my old friends always wanted to be 22 and she was never sure why.  I have to wonder what makes us want to be certain ages and what not.

What age did you always want to be?

Brave

I few weeks ago one of the prompts for the Writers Workshop was to write a post about the word brave.  I figured the first thing I would do is give you the definition of the word and then go into what the word means to me:

brave [breɪv] adj

1. having or displaying courage, resolution, or daring; not cowardly or timid

The word brave is something people say to be because of parts of my past but I don’t think of myself that way.  I have always felt I just did what I know I had to do.  Now the choices I have made were hard but because I chose them doesn’t make me brave at least not in my eyes.

I think that people who stand up for others are brave or people who do what is right to them even though their family and friends may not agree with them.  I think kids who are fighting cancer are brave because I don’t think I could deal with everything they go through and still be able to smile.  I think of the women in other countries who are fighting to have the same basic rights as men have. That is what brave means to me.

What does brave mean to you?
