March Favorites~ Writers Workshop

March Favorites

I am sure some of you know that I love to watch YouTube videos and every month most of them do videos listing their month favorites.  This week for the writers workshop one of the prompts was to list my March favorites and I thought it would be fun to show everyone the products I loved and used a ton in March.

NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight_AngledFirst I have loved my Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight.  I am sure most of you know that I love to read books and I review a ton of them here on my blog.  I love to read actual books because I am one of the weird people who loves the smell of books but there are times where it is easier  to just throw my nook in my purse and run out the door.

white_iphone_5The second thing I have been loving is my iPhone 5.  I got this at the end of January I believe and I love it.  For those who may not know I love all Apple products so it is surprising that this is the first time I have ever had an iPhone.  I am happy with it but I still do miss my Blackberry but for now I will stick with the iPhone.

I also have been loving my iPod Touch.  My laptop died in February so I lost all of my music but because I have the iPod I will have music until I can afford a new laptop.

Another favorite of mine for the past few months is a singing group from Ireland called Celtic Thunder.  I own all of their CD’s and I also own most of their DVD’s.  I first heard them a few years ago and just started really listening to them in the past 6 months or so.

Those are just a few of the things that I loved in the month of March.  What did you love last month?

My Middle Name

My Middle Name

A few weeks ago one of the prompts was to tell about your middle name.  I didn’t get a chance to write this then so I figured I would write about it now.  My middle name is Anne but it is said “Ann”.  The American meaning of Anne is favour or grace, prayer, God has favoured me.  I have always hated how my middle name is spelled.  I had a chance to change how it was spelled when my grandparents adopted me and my brother and I decided to leave it spelled the right way because I was named after someone so it just didn’t feel right to me to change it.  So that is my middle name.  Like I said I am not a fan of it but it just a middle name so I don’t go by it so its okay.

What is your middle name?  Do you like it?

Spring In Utah

Spring In Utah

Lets just say that spring in Utah totally sucks ass.  The pictures I am going to post were taken on a few different days so that I could show you just what the weather in Utah is like in the spring. The following two pictures were taken on Friday during my lunch.IMG_0166c

I shouldn’t have been shocked that it was snowing because that is pretty much how spring in Utah goes.  It will go from freezing to boiling over night.  The next picture was taken on Saturday.  I meant to take a picture first this when the snow was still on the ground but I didn’t get around to it until the snow had started to melt.  We had about 8 inches or so on our driveway when I woke up.

So basically spring in Utah is crazy and you never really know what you are going to get.  I hate spring and fall because I feel like I have to change clothes every 2 hours because the weather and temperature changes so much.  It has been raining and cold this week but it is better than snow so I will take it.

What is spring like where you live?

My Review

I liked this book at times it seemed to drag on and on but it really was a good book. I had to wonder what was going to happen and who she would end up with. The author did a great job of keeping you reading and wanting to know what was going to happen with the characters. This is the first book in the series and I can’t wait to read other books in the series.

About The  Book

Secrets…

Evie Sandstrom has always had secrets. She has grown up with them and now they are starting to come back and chip away at her confident facade. Always one for an adventure, she decides to leave after college break and spend the summer in Boston.

The Irish Gangster…

Finn Reilly is not only a bad-boy drug dealer but he is also Evie’s first love. When they meet again in Boston, sparks begin to fly and although they share one huge secret that should have destroyed them forever, it unites them at a time when she needs all the help she can get.

The French Model…

Evie’s mother, superstar actress Athena Donahue, has remarried to Etienne Fournier, a model who is eighteen years her mother’s junior and wants to get to know Evie in more ways than one.

Once Athena drags her daughter back to L.A. under dubious circumstances, she is within the sights of Etienne yet out of the sights of Finn. Can they resolve their differences and will true love prevail or will life get in the way and spoil their chances of happiness?

Writers Workshop- $ 500

Apple logo icon

I chose to write about number 3 this week for the writers workshop because I know exactly what I would do with $ 500.  I am not sure if I have talked about this yet on my blog but my laptop died a couple of weeks ago and I don’t have the money to replace it at the moment so if I had $ 500 I would put it towards paying off my iPhone so that I would be that much closer to being able to buy a new Macbook.

I paid full price for my iPhone because I didn’t want to switch cell phone companies and T-Mobile doesn’t offer the iPhone but it does work on their network.  So I got mine through Apple and just took it into T-Mobile to get a sim card that would fit it.  So I have to pay it off and I also want to pay off my car and then I will save and pay cash for a brand new laptop for myself.

I really want to get rid of the the debt that I do have which isn’t much anymore.  I still have the credit card with my husband that has a huge balance on it but refuse to pay for it so that will still be there but I don’t want any other debt.   I am always scared that I will lose my job or something like that and I would hate to buy the laptop on a credit card and then not be able to pay for it.

Anyways this post has gotten away from me.  So if I got $ 500 I would pay off my iPhone.

What would you do with $ 500?

Writers Workshop-10 Reasons. . .

Top 10 Reasons

For the writers workshop this week I am going to write about 10 reasons you should be glad I didn’t blog in my 20’s.  I am going to change the prompt slightly though because I am still in my late 20’s.  I am going to write 10 reasons why you should be glad I didn’t blog while I was in college and in my early 20’s.

  1. All I would have had to write about was what I was doing in class and lets just say that would have been super boring.  I never partied in  college so I wouldn’t have any good stories.
  2. I would have written about my crazy roommates and the one who ended up over dosing the day before Thanksgiving my last semester up at Weber State.
  3. You would have had to read all the posts from when I was pregnant and pissed off at my daughters father.
  4. You would have had to listen to me complain about all the young girls that were keeping their children when I was 20 and placing mine for adoption.  It really bugged me at the time and I have since got to the point where I just don’t care anymore.  Everyone decides what is best for them and I don’t have the time to worry about it.
  5. Of course you would have had to read about all the high school drama that went out those years.
  6. I wouldn’t have wanted anyone to see pictures of me from that time because that would be super scary.
  7. God knows who I would have pissed off because I just learned how to control what I say or write.  I didn’t have any filter back then.
  8. There would have been tons of god awful music and crazy music on here.
  9. I never would have gotten any school work done because I would have spent all the time blogging and reading blogs.
  10. This last one comes from my favorite roommate and she said she was glad I didn’t blog then because she didn’t want any incriminating information out there about her.  I gotta love his roommate she is also the only person who ever gave me a nickname the stuck and she still calls it til this day.

So those are my ten things.  What is one reason you are glad you didn’t blog then?
