Simple Things

Mama’s Losin’ It

This week for the Writers Workshop I am going to write about 1.) The simple things..

It is the simple things in life that make me happy:

Going home and chasing my girls around the house

Or listening to Sylvia “bark” like she is a dog

Hanging out with Misti just talking and laughing

Designing blogs for people

Laughing at the crazy things that people will say or do

Being around my grandma who can always make me laugh

Blogging

Reading good books

With out all the simple things that make me happy life would be depressing!

Hardest Thing About Blogging

Mama’s Losin’ It

This week for the Writers Workshop I picked #3-What do you find most challenging about blogging?

I find a lot about blogging challenging but that is because I want to know how everything works.  I am getting into design blogs and that leaves little time to actually write blog posts.  It amazes me how people can design blogs and also find time to blog as well.  I guess part of my problem is that I work from 8-5 Monday through Friday and then go home at work on designs.  I seem to be working all the time and that leaves little time to actually blog.  I also have a hard time trying to figure out what I want to write.  I have tons of post sitting in my drafts folder but I don’t know how to finish any of them.  I always have great ideas for post and then after I start them I get busy and never finish them.

Dreaming Big

Mama’s Losin’ It

This week for the writers workshop I am going to write about 1.) What was your big dream for yourself when you were 18 and had graduated from high school?

The one dream I had when I graduated was to finish college and become a nurse.  I wanted to work in either the ER or as a life flight nurse.  I feel like I gave up on my dreams because I got pregnant and then lost the will to go back to school.  I am hoping that one day I will go back and finish my degree but I don’t know if it will happen.  I also am not sure if I even want to be a nurse anymore.

This is a short post but oh well!  I want to welcome all my new followers and tell everyone that reads my blog thank you!

One Thing . . .

Mama’s Losin’ It

This week for the writers workshop I am going to write about 1.) If you had to go back to high school, how would you do it differently?

I hated everything about high school because it was pure hell for me but if I could go back and do something again I would have graduated early.   I would have worked my ass off so that I could get away from the bullies and also get a head start on college.  Also my high school had a program where you could take college classes and get credits for high school.  I wish I would have looked more in to that as well because if I had done that I may have finished college and be at a totally different place in my life.  I believe that if I had more college done before I graduated I would have a degree by now.

A Phone Call I Wish Hadn’t Happened

Mama’s Losin’ It

I haven’t written anything for the writers workshop in awhile and one of the topics this week jumped out at me and just had to write about it.  I picked #3-A Phone Call You Won’t Forget.  Funny enough the one phone call I will never forget was from my mom after she received a letter from me.  After I had my daughter I decided that I wanted to find her and see if she wanted to be in my life.  I took months of me searching and paying websites to try and find her.  I got an address and decided that I would write to it and if it wasn’t her then oh well and if it was then I would see what happened.

I was on my way to work and my started ringing.  I usually don’t answer out of state numbers but since my husband is a truck driver I wasn’t sure if it was him or not.  After I said hello she literally said “Hi, this is your mom”.   I literally just sat there because I didn’t know what to say.  We talked for about 20 mins or so.    She told me that she was so glad that I found her because she was leaving it up to me if I wanted her in my life.  She didn’t want to just show up and upset my life.

I wonder why has changed from that first conversation and now.
I wonder what would have happened if I just ignored her phone call and let it go to voicemail.
I wonder what would have happened if she had  gotten the letter that I wrote to her and just thrown it away.
I wonder where I would be if I had just left well enough alone and left her in my past which is where I think she wants to be anyway.
