5 Great Blogging Tips

Blogging Tips

Last week for the Writers Workshop one of the prompts was to list 5 of my favorite blogging tips.  I always love to read other people’s tips and tricks when it comes to blogging so I figured I would list a few of my own.  These are things that I also wish I would have known from the start.

  •  First before I started a blog I wish I would have picked a name and also known what I wanted to blog about.  I say this because it is so much easier to have all of this done before hand instead of trying to figure it all out once you have been blogging for a few years like I did.
  • Don’t get caught up in the numbers.  I spent a lot of time worried about the number of followers of my blog or the number of likes that my Facebook Page had.  For me this just turned blogging into some sort of popularity contest and made me want to stop blogging.  Once I stopped caring and started blogging for me I found the reason I started blogging in the first place.  Now I still love when I get comments or emails from people who read my blog but I don’t focus on those things because if I do I get discouraged and blogging becomes a chore instead of something I just love to do.
  • For me I always have to remind myself just to have fun and be true to who I am.  I have been blogging for years and only in the past year have I started to really just blog about things I want to.  I have lost readers because of the book reviews but it is something I truly love doing so I am going to continue them.
  • Know that people who know you in real life can and will find out about your blog so don’t blog about things you don’t want other people who know you to read.
  • It can take years to build a blog so don’t give up if you aren’t where others are.  It takes some people years to build their blogs and then others make it big fast.

Those are a few of the things I wish I would have known before I started blogging.

What do you wish you would have known before you started?

The Snugg iPhone 5 Case Review

The Snugg

I was contacted by The Snugg and asked if would like to review on of their cases.  I have my iPhone 5 since the beginning of the year and I have become addicted to buying cases for it.  So when I was contacted I figured why not I am always open to trying new cases and seeing what they are all about.

They have so many to choose from that it was hard for me to pick.  I finally chose to get ultra thin hot pink case because I didn’t have anything this color.  It took about 5 or so days to get to me which was great.  I hate waiting a long time for something to arrive so quick shipping is a must in my world.

The Snugg iPhone 5 Case Review
This is the case that I received.

I was worried when I got the case that I wouldn’t be able to get it off because of nails.  I got it to snap on really quick and I was also able to get it off even with my nails being super long.  This is a super cute case and it makes me want more of them.  The only draw back to the case is the fact that if you drop it so the screen is pointed down the screen could shatter because it isn’t protected.   Other than that they are super fun and super cute.

If you are looking for a cute case just to dress up your phone then I would for sure check these out.  Also they aren’t that expensive so that is always a good thing when you buy as many cases as I do.

What cases do you love?

FTC:I received a free case in exchange for my honest review.

Things That Drive Me Insane-Nurses

Things That Drive Me Insane

This time for things that drive me insane I am going to talk about my latest infusion and how bad one of the nurses there was.  The thing that made me the maddest about the whole situation was the fact that she was a supervisor.  Anyway lets get onto the story.  I am sure you all know that I have Multiple Sclerosis and that I take Tysabri once a month to keep me stable.

So once a month I go to the hospital and get an IV in my arm so I can get the medication.  The best way to describe how the give it is to say they give it like they do Chemo or when you have a blood transfusion.  So usually they get the IV started with just one poke but this time it took 3 times.

Now if the only problem was that I took three times to get the IV started I wouldn’t be so pissed about it but the second time they poked me it hurt like hell and here I will show you a picture of the bruise that formed:

Things That Drive Me Insane-Idiot Nurses
This was taken 5 minutes or so after I got home from getting my infusion done.

This bruise was already forming before she pulled out the needle because she couldn’t find the vein.  I don’t think I have ever had a nurse dig around so much trying to get the vein.  She was digging around for a good 2 to 3 minutes and still couldn’t get it.  She then had to poke me for the 3rd time and thank god she got me then because if she hadn’t I wouldn’t have let her poke me again.

Here is what the bruise looked about 4 or 5 days latter:

What the hell is up with the straight lines????

Let me just tell you I have never once seen a bruise like this.  The fact that there are straight lines is so weird and everyone that see’s it says the same thing.  I ended up having to go to the hospital and get blood drawn because she messed up and my blood test came back weird so they want to make sure that it everything was okay.   Oh and this bruise still hurts and I bet even when the bruise goes away I will still have pain because I believe she went into the muscle and did some damage.

I pray to god that when I go back for my next infusion that she won’t be there because I hate making scenes but there is no way in hell that she is ever going to get another needle anywhere near me.  I have another Idiot Drivers coming up next week.

Has this ever happened to you???
