The Ultimate Party on G+ #theultimateparty

This month I am a co-host for The Ultimate Party on Google+!

Every week +Tammy Doiel from The Ultimate Linky, +Tammy A from My Life Abundant, +Kim P from KidPep, and +Amanda Paxton from Old House to New House are the hosts of this party.

This month the three cohosts for the party are +Margaret Tidwell from The World as I See It, +Karen Weido from Ting’s Mom and Ting’s Mom’s Books, and +Nicole Johnson from Or Whatever You Do.

I was so excited when I saw they still needed hosts for August because this has been a great way to gain new followers on G+ and it also brings so much traffic to my site every week.  It also is a great way to find new blogs to read.  Since I have been linking up I have gotten so many new followers and I have also found some great posts and ideas!

Here are some reasons why doing a G+ party on Friday is The Ultimate Party:

  1. Posting on G+ helps with SEO optimization.
  2. Posting on G+ helps your posts get ranked higher in Google’s search engine.
  3. Friday is supposed to be the best time for interaction on G+, specifically between 11a.m. – 2 p.m. and 7 – 10 p.m. The linky will remain open until 8 p.m. Please link up as early as possible so that you get the most interaction on your posts.
  4. To help you gain more followers on G+.
  5. To interact with and to get to know other bloggers. For most parties you follow people but never interact. Here you get to see who has the same interests/niche as you do!
  6. BECAUSE IT’S FUN!! Why do a party if it isn’t going to be fun?

The Achilles Heel by Karyn Rae

the achilles heel buttonThe Achilles Heel by Karyn Rae was an amazing book.  Parts of this book seemed totally ridiculous because I am big into thinking that things in a book could really happen but I doubt any of this could really happen so that bothered me a little book.  In whole the book was amazing and I am hoping that the next book will have the same characters because I did fall in love with them.  If you love thrillers I know you will enjoy this book and I can’t wait for the next one.

Karyn Rae is an emerging Romantic-Suspense author. Her debut novel, The Achilles Heel was released in May 2014. She is a member of the Romance Writers of America, and the Columbia Chapter of the Missouri Writers Guild. Karyn resides in Missouri with her husband, son, daughter, and chocolate lab- Augusta Mae.

The first part of Karyn’s life was spent in the South, and the last fifteen years have played out in the Midwest, but she’s still holding on to a shred of her Southern roots. She is a wife, mother, daughter, and sister who has made it her mission in life to carve out a career for herself, while keeping the husband and the children happy.

Pretty Girl by Amy Heugh

Book Review GraphicPretty Girl by Amy Heugh was a good book.  I did find that I got bogged down in the details at times but that isn’t always a bad thing.  I did fall in love with the characters and just want things to work out for both.  I think she nailed how high school is for certain people and it made the story even more real to me.  Even though I did get lost in some of the details in the book I loved the characters and I hope that she will do a follow-up book so we can see where the characters end up.

This week for adoption thoughts I am going to talk about something that I have heard over and over that just doesn’t make any sense to me.  If you have missed the past adoption thoughts post you can click here and read them.  For today’s post I am first going to list a couple of definitions of words that I am going to be talking about in today’s post:

Sad

Regret

a sense of loss, disappointment, dissatisfaction, etc.

regrets, a polite, usually formal refusal of an invitation:

a note expressing regret at one’s inability to accept an invitation:

I have had four acceptances and one regret.

Now that you have read those 2 definitions let’s get onto why I am talking about them.  I have had people say to me when I say I am sad about placing my daughter that “they know I made the right choice”.  I know this is said out of love so it doesn’t make me mad in that sense that I am upset that they think I made the “right” choice.  It upsets me just because I am sad about the situation doesn’t mean I regret my choice.  You can be sad about something in your life and not regret the choice you made.  I will never regret my choice because I know it was the right choice for me and for her.  As you saw above them do have similar meanings but they aren’t the same thing.

I am sad about a few things from my past but I don’t regret anything I have gone through.   I spent years regretting choices I made but I have come to realize that I am who I am today because of those choices.  I just want people to know that just because someone is sad doesn’t mean that they think they made the wrong choice or the regret what got them to this point.  It is okay to just be sad about things once in awhile.  I guess this post was more for me than for other people but I wanted to share just another thing I deal with because I am a birth mom.
