PERSONAL THOUGHTS

Believing In Bigfoot by JC Miller

Believing In Bigfoot by JC Miller was a great book.  This is the second book I have read by JC Miller and it as another great book.  JC Miller does an amazing job of writing and making you feel as though you are there with the characters.  When this book started I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book but after the first few chapters I did really get into the book and fell in love with the characters.  This was such a fun sweet book that I would recommend to everyone.

About The Book

Reeling from his failed comeback and ruined marriage, washed-out actor Ian James (née Isaac Janowitz) flees Los Angeles for a two-week respite in Northern California’s remote Marble Mountains—Bigfoot country. His time alone in the wilderness begins to peel away the layers of his Hollywood persona. After a fateful meeting with a beguiling woman, Ian begins to question his heart. In a moment of clarity, Isaac ditches his publicist and finds himself in Redding, living with invisibility at the Vagabond Motel.

Professor Ruth Hill is burnt out teaching photography at Redding’s Shasta College, eager for her upcoming retirement. But for unexplained reasons, despite weekly therapy sessions, her panic attacks have escalated. Her artistic slump persists. Looking back, she regrets a life without risk; looking forward, she dreads a meaningless future. Going over her proof sheets one morning, she stumbles upon a series of striking thumbnails, reigniting her passion and creativity.

Readers will root for Isaac and Ruth as they grapple with their chance encounter on the mountain and search for meaning in their repellent, yet intense attraction. Their paths do cross again, but when confronted with the possibility of enduring love, Ruth’s cynicism creeps in; Isaac’s self-defeating beliefs take hold. For these two damaged souls, it just may be too late.

Quotes I Love-Writer Workshop

Quotes

This weeks for the writers workshop I am going to write about number 1 which is a quote I love. As some of you may know I post a quote every week because I love quotes and I love to share quotes that I love with other people. If you want to check those out you can click here and scroll through them. The one quote I have loved since I heard it is:strong.jpg
I love this quote because it is so true.  I first saw this quote after I had my daughter and I struck me as true because I never thought I would be able to place my daughter for adoption.  Like I always say when people ask me how I get through life “I don’t have an option but to keep going because I can’t just die”.  You just have to put one foot in front of the other and know that in time things will pass.

Here are a few other quotes that I am loving right now:

Oprah Winfrey Vince LombardiJimmy DeanC. S. Lewis Robin Williams

What quote are you loving right now?

Here are the prompts for this week’s so if you want to join in you can pick one and write your post:
1. Share a quote you love.
2. Take a line from a song you love and turn it into the title of your next blog post. Let the content follow.
3. Saturday morning at your house…
4. Best or worst gift you ever gave.
5. Something someone did that put a smile on your face.
6. How old were you when you stopped believing in Santa?

Swept Away by Laura V Hilton and Cindy Loven

Book Review

Swept Away by Laura V Hilton and Cindy Loven was another great book in the series.  When I first started this book I didn’t like any of the characters but Sara Jane’s Grandma.  After a few chapters in I really did love the characters.  I think after a few chapters you got to see more of the characters and you get to know more about who they are so that helped.  I didn’t like how Sara Jane in the beginning of the book acted like a stuck up brat but after a few chapters you get to see more of who she is.  I have loved all the books in this series but one so I am so glad that this one ended up being another one that I love.  If you love romance books written by Christian authors than I would recommend this one to you.  I also would recommend any book in the Quilts Of Love series because they are all so amazing.

Swept Away

But things don’t always go as planned.

Roy L Smith-Quote Of The Week

Quote Of The Week

This weeks quote is by Roy L Smith.

Roy L. Smith

I have decided that I am going to have Christmas quotes for the next couple of weeks to get in the holiday spirit.  It is always hard for me to get into the spirit of the holiday’s because of past experiences with  the holiday but I am not getting into that here.  I loved this because it is true if you don’t have the spirit of Christmas in your heart you will never find it under your tree.

What do you think of this weeks quote by Roy L Smith?
