Alice Walker – Quote Of The Week

This week’s quote is by Alice Walker.

I really love this quote because I have had several friends who didn’t want to be around me because of the person I was becoming at the time.  I have changed quite a bit over the past ten years and there are people who haven’t changed at all in all of those years.  Most of them have stopped talk to me which made it easy to just move on.  I still do think about some of them and wonder what they are up too but I know it is for the best.

Elon Musk – Quote Of The Week

Quote Of The Week

This week’s quote is by Elon Musk.

I hate change but as I am getting older I am starting to embrace it more and more because it usually turns out for the best in the long run.  I now make a point to force myself to deal with change and deal with the anxiety that I get when things are changing in my life.  Those are just a few of my thoughts on this quote.

Keri Russell – Quote Of The Week

Quote Of The Week

This week’s quote is by Keri Russell.

I really agree with this quote because some of the things that have changed my life have been such small choices.  It is crazy as I sit back and look at the choices I have made over the years and where I have ended up in life.  I had no plan to stay at the job that I have had for the past nine years and yet here I am and it has been a blessing that I now work for a great company that have no problem at all with me taking time off for my infusions and what not.

Clint Eastwood – Quote Of The Week

Quote Of The Week

This week’s quote is by Clint Eastwood.

I think he has to be one of my favorite actors so when I saw this quote I knew I wanted to use it.  The first movie of his that I  remember liking is Grand Torino because of how you got to seem him grow and change throughout the film.  Let’s get on to my thoughts about this quote.  I agree with this quote one hundred percent because the only thing you really can change is yourself.  You can’t make someone or anything else change if they don’t want to change.  I try and fix things in myself when I see something someone else does that bothers me.  Those are just a few thoughts I have about this quote.

Viktor E. Frankl – Quote Of The Week

Quote Of The Week

This week’s quote is by Viktor E. Frankl.

Viktor E. Frankl

I like this quote because I am a firm believer in the fact that you can only change yourself.  You can never change someone else and at times it is hard even to modify the situation you are in.  The best example I have of this would be when I worked for a company that in the end put us out of business, and we all got picked up by the business I work for now.  For the entire five or six year’s everything was always so negative, so I had to change myself and be more positive because being so negative was ruining my life, and it was making the Multiple Sclerosis worse.  I just learned to focus on the positive things even if it was hard to find something.  Now because I did do that with the job that I hated it is so easy for me to do now with the job that I am currently loving.

Jim Rohn – Quote Of The Week

Quote Of The Week

This week’s quote is by Jim Rohn.

Jim Rohn

When I saw this quote, it stuck out to me because people on the internet are always saying things because you can hide behind a made up persona.  I am the kind of girl that will say what I need to say regardless of if people know who I am.  I don’t hide who I am and I never really have since I have been online.  I don’t see the point because if I feel the need to hide what I am saying or doing than I have no business acting like that.  Those are just a few of my thoughts on this quote and how I feel about it.

Changing Careers?!?!

This week for the writers workshop I am going to talk about number 3 which is You HAVE to go back in time and choose a different career path for yourself. What do you choose?  As I sit here and think about changing careers the one thing that keeps coming to the front of my brain is that I wish I had finished school and that I was a registered nurse.  I basically dropped out of school after I got pregnant and had my daughter.  It has been so long since I have been in school that when I think about going back to school now I don’t know that I could or that I even want to go back to school to get my nursing degree.

I remember when I was in college people always said don’t stop going to school because once you stop or take a break you won’t go back.  At the time I was in school I always thought that was stupid because I never saw myself not finishing school even if I took a break.  Now that I have been out of school for years and years the last place I want to be in the world is back at school with teenagers and people who are younger than me.  I am that weird person who loved school and now the thought of going to school again literally makes me sick to my stomach.

The more years I spend at the job I am at now the more I realize that I am probably going to be here forever because at this point I have done it for almost 8 years and it is all I know anymore.  I remember starting this job thinking it was just going to be something until I could go back to working at a nursing home and now the longer I am here the more I realize that I don’t mind doing accounting and things like that.

It is funny to me how I have changed and my thoughts on what I want to do when “I grow up” have changed so much.  I am glad I have the job I do and I am also glad that I think I am finally okay with not being in the medical field anymore.  It will always be something that I love and something that just comes naturally to me but I don’t think I would be able to do the job because of the Multiple Sclerosis and things like that.

If you could change your career what would you want to do now?

Here are all the prompts for this weeks writers workshop if you want to join in on the fun.

1. Write a blog post inspired by the word: guilty
2. Write a poem for your mother.
3. You HAVE to go back in time and choose a different career path for yourself. What do you choose?
4. I know my kids really love me because…
5. Describe a home cooked meal that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

Quote Of The Week – Ellen Glasgow

Quote Of The Week

This weeks quote is by Ellen Glasgow.

Ellen Glasgow

I loved this quote when I read it because it is so true for me.  People change all the time but that doesn’t mean that the changes are growth or that they are even good changes for that person.  I also agree with not all movement is forward because lately I feel like I am moving but I don’t feel like I am going forward.  I feel as though I am stuck right now but I am hoping to change that this year and get  back on track to where I want to go in life.  Those are just a few of my thoughts for this week.

Now I want to know what you think of this weeks quote by Ellen Glasgow? Do you agree or disagree?
