Rescued Hearts by Hope Toler Dougherty was a sweet story.  I did get bored from time to time as I was reading but that always passed after a couple of pages, so I didn’t have a hard time finishing this book like I have had with other books.  I really liked Brett right from the start, but Mary got on my nerves from time to time.  I always got annoyed at how at times she acted because I felt like she was whiny and all Brett wanted to do was keep her safe throughout the entire book.  She reminds me of girls who act tough around people, but in the end, they aren’t tough in the least.  I really enjoyed this author writing, and it kept me interested in the book, but it didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat like some other books have.  If you love mystery books than I am sure that you will love this book just as much as I did.

About The Book

Children’s clothing designer Mary Wade Kimball’s soft spot for animals leads to a hostage situation when she spots a briar- entangled kitten in front of an abandoned house. Beaten, bound, and gagged by the two thugs inside, Mary Wade loses hope for escape when a third villain returns with supplies.

Discovering the kidnapped woman ratchets the complications for undercover agent Brett Davis. Weighing the difference of ruining his three months’ investigation against the woman’s safety, Brett forsakes his mission and helps her escape, the bent-on-revenge brutes following behind.

When Mary Wade’s safety is threatened once more, Brett rescues her again. This time, her personal safety isn’t the only thing in jeopardy. Her heart is endangered as well.

Sugar Babies by Mickey J. Corrigan was a super exciting book.  I loved that it gave me a small look into what being a sugar baby might be like.  This book was a super easy read, and I was able to read in over a couple of days, and it left me wanting more.  I felt like the characters were all real people and I love when that happens.  I have read one other book by this author, and if you want to check out that review, you can click right here.  So far I have liked both of the books that I have read by her, and I can’t wait to read another by her in the future.  If you are looking for a different type of book to read I would for sure recommend this one to you because I am sure you will love it just as much as I did.

Book Review Graphic

FTC: I received a free copy of this book from iRead Book Tours in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation and the opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent true and my own.

First Crush, Last Love by Elizabeth McKenna was a fantastic book.  I loved that you meet the characters when they are in their senior year in high school, and you follow along as they grow up.  I loved this because it felt like I was growing up with them and it also helped me understand their lives.  I wasn’t a massive fan of Lee throughout most of the book, but I didn’t hate him either.  I really liked Jessie, but I got annoyed when she stayed with her ex-husband because no one deserves to be treated like she was.  This author did a great job of making the story come to life for me, and I know that I will be reading more of her books in the future.  If you love romance books that I know you will love this book just as much as I did.

About The Author

Elizabeth McKenna works as a full-time technical writer/editor for a large software company. Though her love of books reaches back to her childhood, she had never read romance novels until one Christmas when her sister gave her the latest bestseller by Nora Roberts. She was hooked from page one (actually, she admits it was the first love scene).

She had always wanted to write fiction, so she combined her love of history, romance and a happy ending to write Cera’s Place and Venice in the Moonlight. Her short story, The Gypsy Casts a Spell, is available for free on her site http://elizabethmckenna.com/. She hopes you will enjoy her first contemporary romance novel, First Crush Last Love, as much as others have enjoyed her historical romances.

Elizabeth lives in Wisconsin with her understanding husband, two beautiful daughters, and a sassy Labrador. When she isn’t writing, working, or being a mom, she’s sleeping.

One Summer Night by Caridad Pineiro

Book Review Graphic

FTC: I received a free copy of this book. I received no other compensation and the opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent true and my own.

One Summer Night by Caridad Pineiro was a sweet but predictable book.  Even when saying that I fell in love with the characters and the setting so much that I am going to read other books by this author.  I was such a huge fan of Owen throughout the entire book.  Maggie at times did get on my nerves but I did like her more than her friend Tracy.  Tracy right from the start got on my damn nerves right from the first chapter.  I was so glad that she wasn’t a super big part of the plot because she just bugged me.  This was a very typical book in this genre but I still really enjoyed it and the author writing as I said before.  If you love chick lit than I am sure you will enjoy this story as much as I did.

The Pretender Ta'Mara Hanscom

FTC: I received a free copy of this book from Litfuse in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation and the opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent true and my own.

The Pretender by Ta’Mara Hanscom was a book I thought I would really enjoy but in the end, I was bored throughout most of the book.  There were parts throughout the book that I did like but they never lasted long, and I always ended up bored and wanting to pick up something else to read.  This is the first book I have read by this author, and I don’t know that I will get any others to read.  This book was well written, but I just didn’t connect with the author and the characters in the book.  This does happen from time to time, and it makes me sad when it does happen, and I have to review the book because I hate having to leave reviews like this one.  Like I said it was well written and I am sure that it will be a great book for other people it just wasn’t the right fit for me.

About The Book

Set in South Dakota in 1975, where eighteen-year-olds could order 3.2 beer in a bar, and loaded guns were kept under the counter.

It’s within this tumultuous season of American history that Tillie Caselli meets Noah Hansen, and they are never the same again. Their lives were mysteriously intertwined-and had been for many years-yet they had no idea.
From the moment they met, Tillie and Noah wanted to spend the rest of their lives together, but a deliberate omission will keep them apart—and that same omission will be responsible for the escape of a murderer, and a bride’s deception.

Curse Breaker by J.T.Bishop

Book Review Graphic

FTC: I received a free copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation and the opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent true and my own.

Curse Breaker by J.T.Bishop was a good book, but there were a few things that bothered me as well.  I really liked the characters in this book right from the start of the book.  One of the big things that bugged me about the book was the fact that you don’t know much about Gillian and that plagued me pretty much through the entire book.  Now by saying that I think that if you had read the other 3 books before this one, you would know what was going on more than I did.  I spent almost the entire book mad because I wanted to know more about her and you never really get the answers to that question.  I really did enjoy this author writing, and as I said before, I was a huge fan of Gray.  This was a bigger book but because I was so in love with Gray I read it in about two days.  If you love books like this one, I would check this one out.  I am going to add the first three books to my list of books I want to read in the future.

About The Book

Truths that will change their future forever.

About The Author

Born and raised in Dallas, TX, J. T. Bishop began writing in 2012. Two years later, the Red-Line trilogy was complete. She’s not done though. The Red-Line saga develops as she continues to write new books.

J. T. loves stories that explore character’s unique abilities and origins. What if extraterrestrials did walk among us? It’s a theme she finds intriguing and provides a wealth of inspiration for her books. Drama, angst, passion, and humor all add to the fun. A little bit of romance doesn’t hurt either.

J. T. loves to spend time with family and friends, traveling whenever she can, and spending time in nature (despite the heat in Texas). Getting up in the morning with a cup of coffee, ready to write is the start of a perfect day.
