Degrees of Love: A Novel by Lisa Slabach was very well written, but I struggled with reading it.  I say that because since this book is a romance novel, I got bored because even though I don’t know what is going to happen, I do know what is going to happen if that makes any sense.  I am sure that if you don’t read a ton of books like I do that statement won’t make any sense.  I did enjoy the characters in this book, and I really enjoyed the authors writing, but in the end, I was bored.  If you are a huge fan of romance novels than I am sure you will love this book.  I am just starting to realize that I need to stick more to mystery type books because I tend to be bored with another genre of books.  I am going to hang onto this book so that I can pick it up in the future and see if my thoughts and feelings change any about this type of book.

Degrees of Love is Lisa Slabach’s debut novel. She is currently working on her third full-length manuscript and a collection of short stories inspired by her experiences growing up in a small farm community in Washington’s Yakima Valley. In addition to writing, Lisa works for a Fortune 500 Company, leading a sales team in the financial industry. She currently resides in Northern California with her husband and has two daughters, who are both pursuing careers in film. Imperfect Justice by Cara Putman was a great book.  The first thing I want to say is that if you don’t like to read books that have domestic violence in them than I would skip this book because that is a big theme in the book.  I have read several other books by this author in the past, and I have liked the ones that I have read.   I really enjoy books like this one, and I rarely find one that I don’t want.  Like most books in this genre, I was able to figure out what was going to happen by the end of the book.  It did keep me on the edge of my seat throughout the first half of the book, but even though by then I had figured out what was going to happen I still read it right through until the end because I had to know all of the details.  I really enjoyed all of the characters in the book well everyone but Kaylene’s husband.  I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Christian legal thrillers.  If you have read it what did you think of it?

Christmas At Grey Sage by Phyllis Clark Nichols this was a sweet story that I loved right from the first page. There were times where I was confused because I didn’t know any of the back stories but in time it all comes out, and you finally understand things that are alluded to during the first few chapters in the book.  I really enjoyed this author’s writing so much so that I can’t wait to read more books by her shortly.  I liked that her characters seemed like they could be real people and I always love when that happens.  I also love to read heartwarming books this time of year, and this one didn’t let me down.  If you like Christmas books and love seeing people work through their problems than I am sure you will love this book as much as I did.  What Christmas books do you enjoy?

The Gift of Christmas Past by Cindy Woodsmall & Erin Woodsmall was a great book.  Right from the start I really liked Hadley, and I felt so sorry for her and the things she had to go through as she was growing up.  I also wasn’t the biggest fan of Monroe because of choices that he made even though I understand why he did what he did.  I am so glad that Hadley came out on top in the end because it really could have ruined her entire life.  I hoped that they would end up together throughout the whole book even though I wasn’t the biggest fan of Monroe.  I really loved seeing Hadley grow throughout the book.  I love seeing the characters grow and change for the better as the book goes on.  I loved the writing in this book, and I liked that it is written by a mom and her daughter.  If you love romance books, I would pick this one up and check it out.  If you have read it what do you think about it?

The Gift by Shelley Shepard Gray

The Gift by Shelley Shepard Gray was another great book by this author.  I don’t think I have ever read a book by this author that I haven’t liked.  I really enjoyed the characters in this book and the setting of the book.  I have a couple of the other books in this series, so I really enjoyed getting to catch up with some of the characters along with getting to meet new characters.  If you are looking for books about Amish fiction, I would recommend any of the books by this author.  Even though her books are all in series, you don’t have to read them all to know what is going on.  You are able to just pick up one and start reading it.  I think this series might be my favorite series that she has done so far.  I can’t think of anything that I didn’t enjoy about this book, and I am sure that if you like Amish fiction you will love this book just as much as I did.

The Fabergé Entanglement by Lesley Meryn and Elle Brookes was an intriguing book, to say the least.  I was hooked right from the first page, and I can’t tell you why I loved the book as much as I did.    This book did keep me one the edge of my seat throughout most of the book.  During the first few chapters, I did find that I was getting come of the characters confused, so I felt like I was going back and trying to keep everyone straight but it only lasted for a few chapters and then I was able to keep them all straight.  I love when authors in this genre of books have a woman as one of the leading characters because not many authors do.  I also liked that Saber was a strong woman and able to hold her own when it came to the story.  I wasn’t the biggest fan of Adrian through most of the book, but I love when that happens because it means that the author has made the characters life like and I always enjoy that.  If you love thriller type books than I am sure you will love this book just as much as I did.  They have it rated PG + M, but nothing in this book offend me in the least so I am sure that most people will be okay while reading this book.  If you have read this book what did you think of it?
