Rule of Law by Randy Singer was a really long book, and I struggled with wanting to read it. I know that has to do with the fact that I am so over politics in this country that when it came to reading a book that has to deal with that, I had no patience for it. I did push my way through and kept reading because I wanted to know what was going to happen. I really only finished the book because I wanted to know what ended up happening with the Seals and their families. I was a huge fan of Paige, and I was always rooting for her and hoping that she didn’t stop fighting for what was right. I know part of the reason that I did like this book was that it didn’t shock me that something like this would be happening because I have no doubt that the people in our government would do something like this and then try and cover it up. Like I said I did struggle with staying interested and reading this book, but I am sure if you love books like this then you will enjoy it more than I did. I also think I am going to tuck this book away and read it again in a few years when I feel differently about the subject matter in this book.
About The Book
For the members of SEAL Team Six, it was a rare mission ordered by the president, monitored in real time from the Situation Room. The Houthi rebels in Yemen had captured an American journalist and a member of the Saudi royal family. Their executions were scheduled for Easter Sunday. The SEAL team would break them out.
But when the mission results in spectacular failure, the finger-pointing goes all the way to the top.
Did the president play political games with the lives of U.S. service members?
Paige Chambers, a determined young lawyer, has a very personal reason for wanting to know the answer. The case she files will polarize the nation and test the resiliency of the Constitution. The stakes are huge, the alliances shaky, and she will be left to wonder if the saying on the Supreme Court building still holds true.
Equal justice under law.
It makes a nice motto. But will it work when one of the most powerful people on the planet is also a defendant?

Mercy Triumphs by Jana Kelley was a good book. This is the third and final book in the series, and I am sad to know that the characters are leaving because after reading three books with the same basic characters I am sad to see them go. I have read the other two books in the series so if you want to know what I thought about them, you can click here and here to read them. That being said you can read this book without having read the other two, but if it were me, I would read all of them in order so that you know the back story and how they ended up where they are when you start reading this book. Like the first two, I really enjoyed this book, and it is such a unique storyline. I know one of the reasons that I have loved this series as much as I have is because it has given me an idea what it would be like to live in Sudan as a Christian. I am sad to see these stories come to an end, but I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next. I also loved the pace that this book was written because it wasn’t super slow or super fast. If you are looking for something that is a little bit different to read I would recommend this series of books to you.
About The Book
Mia, an American Christian, has lived in Sudan so long that persecution, harassment, and danger have become commonplace for her. Her tough outer shell threatens to harden her heart while her newly Christian friends, Halimah and Rania, former Muslims, are forced to live in exile outside Sudan. All three quickly discover that escaping danger in one place only means facing even greater challenges elsewhere. As God’s mercy becomes evident in their lives, they must choose whether or not to offer mercy to those who don’t deserve it.
Third, in a trilogy, Mercy Triumphs opens the reader’s eyes to modern-day persecution and the life of Muslims in Sudan. Based on real-life events, Mercy Triumphs reveals some of the struggles Christians face when living under Islamic law. The reader will be inspired to pray for new believers, those who are persecuted for their faith, and even for the salvation of the persecutors.

Curse Breaker by J.T.Bishop was a good book, but there were a few things that bothered me as well. I really liked the characters in this book right from the start of the book. One of the big things that bugged me about the book was the fact that you don’t know much about Gillian and that plagued me pretty much through the entire book. Now by saying that I think that if you had read the other 3 books before this one, you would know what was going on more than I did. I spent almost the entire book mad because I wanted to know more about her and you never really get the answers to that question. I really did enjoy this author writing, and as I said before, I was a huge fan of Gray. This was a bigger book but because I was so in love with Gray I read it in about two days. If you love books like this one, I would check this one out. I am going to add the first three books to my list of books I want to read in the future.

About The Author
Born and raised in Dallas, TX, J. T. Bishop began writing in 2012. Two years later, the Red-Line trilogy was complete. She’s not done though. The Red-Line saga develops as she continues to write new books.
J. T. loves stories that explore character’s unique abilities and origins. What if extraterrestrials did walk among us? It’s a theme she finds intriguing and provides a wealth of inspiration for her books. Drama, angst, passion, and humor all add to the fun. A little bit of romance doesn’t hurt either.
J. T. loves to spend time with family and friends, traveling whenever she can, and spending time in nature (despite the heat in Texas). Getting up in the morning with a cup of coffee, ready to write is the start of a perfect day.

Blood Loss by Ashley Fontainne & Lillian Hansen was a fascinating book. This is the second book in the series, and I haven’t read the first book, but I still understood what was going on in this book. I did wish I knew more of the back story, but it didn’t make me want to stop reading this book. Right from the start this book hooked my interest and keep me interested right up through the end of the book. This book didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat, but it did hold my interest throughout the entire thing. I was such a fan of the characters that I am going to go back and read the first book even though I do know how it all works out in the end. If you like mystery books, I would check this book out.

Wild Ride Cowboy by Maisey Yates was a good book but parts of it I was able to know what was going to happen next. I almost always say that with this genre of the book because I have read some many of them over the years that I know the patterns that most of the books follow. Even though I knew what was coming I still really enjoyed this book. One of the main reasons that I loved this book is because it had to do with the military and I always love those types of book. I had to smile at the things that Clara. I loved that she would always go and get coffee even though she hated coffee. If you love chick lit and want to read a book that was easy to read I am sure you will love this book just as much as I did.

Putting down roots in Copper Ridge was never Alex Donnelly’s intention. But if there’s one thing the ex-military man knows, it’s that life rarely unfolds as expected. If it did, his best friend and brother-in-arms would still be alive. And Alex wouldn’t have inherited a ranch or responsibility for his late comrade’s sister—a woman who, despite her inexperience, can bring tough-as-iron Alex to his knees.
Clara Campbell didn’t ask for a hero to ride in and fix her ranch and her life. All she wants is the one thing stubborn, honorable Alex is reluctant to give: a chance to explore their intense chemistry. But Clara has a few lessons to teach him, too…about trusting his heart and his instincts, and letting love take him on the wildest adventure of all.

The House of Moody Avenue by Cellestine Hannemann wasn’t my favorite book, to say the least, but I still did enjoy parts of this book. I had a tough time staying interested in this book. At times I found it hard to know who was talking. I also felt the book was rushed in some places and in other places I felt like there were way too many details. I did like most of the characters in this book though. I also liked the plot of this book because it was different from anything other than I ever remember reading in the past. I am sure that is the way I did enjoy parts of this book and why I didn’t want to just stop reading it. Usually, when I read books that don’t keep my attention I have a hard time finishing them, and I usually give up on them. I am sure that this book will work for some people, but I wasn’t one of them.
About The Book
An eclectic assortment of humanity, with all their foibles and failings, lived in the house on Moody Avenue over a period of ninety years. I tell their stories.
Lisette, her unshakable faith sustaining her, is undeterred in the face of adversity; Julia, a social-climbing snob, sees her world crumble when her children marry inappropriately; Clarence, a Casper Milquetoast bank clerk, absconds with a quarter of a million dollars; Frances, a country girl, comes to the big city to marry a rich man; Sammy, a black man, passes for white.
Beatnik squatters, high on LSD, burn down the condemned ninety-year-old house, leaving it naught but a precious memory in the hearts of those who once sought its shelter.
