Writing Prompt

2012 Favorites

I am going to perticipate in the Writers Workshop this week because her first prompt seemed like tons of fun.  Here are all the prompts that she has for this week:

1.) The ladies at MomSmack listed their top 10 faves of 2012 here. Use their list as a template and fill in your own answers! (inspired by MomSmack)
2.) Have your kids ever embarrassed you? Share something they’ve said or done that caused a *facepalm*.
3.) Tell us about something that is haunting you.
4.) Have you ever gotten detention at school? What did you do?
5.) Find a photo of yourself taken 10 years ago and display it on your blog along with a current photo. How have you changed since the day that photo was taken?

Top 5 YouTube Videos

As most of you know I love watching YouTube videos.  This week for the writers workshop one of the prompts was to list my top 5 YouTube videos of all time.  This was harder than you can think because there are so many that I watch all the time but here are the 5 that if they got deleted I would be so sad!!!! (They are in no order)

If you get offend by swearing than this video isn’t for you but it does make me laugh every time I watch it.

As you can see they vary greatly but like I said there are tons more that I love.  Here is a post where I listed some of my favorite channels that you should all check out.

One Tip-Have Fun While Blogging

When I started blogging I didn’t even realize that there were so many blogs out there.  I started blogging simple as something to do and as a way to keep my husbands family up to date on things that were happening with us since his family is all out of state.  There are so many things that I now know about blogging that I wish I would have known about when I started blogging years ago.

The biggest tip I could give a new blogger would be to just have fun with blogging.  When I started it was more like a chore and it was really hard for me to keep it up.  I do go through phases where it seems like it is a chore but when I just have fun with it and blog about things that are on my mind I find that can write posts without having a problem.  Right now I feel I am stuck and I haven’t been able to finish a blog post to save my life.  I know that once I get into the groove again I will have tons of posts almost ready.

When I have forgot to have fun with blogging I have gone months and months without posting.  I know when I have to write blog post for products I receive or a book review I struggle with it because I really don’t enjoy having to write posts on something.  I love when I write about whatever I am feeling like and I hate having to write about certain things.  Now that being said I still do sponsored posts and book reviews because I love books and can use the money and products from sponsored posts.

I went off on a tangent there but in the end I would just say don’t forget to have to fun with blogging and don’t lose site of why you started blogging!  What one tip would you give to someone who is starting out blogging?

Case Of Nerves

This past week for the Writers Workshop I was going to write about #2 which was A case of the nerves! When was the last time you had them and how did you get through it?  I didn’t get a chance to finish the post and get it up because I had so much to do at work since I was going to be off Friday and I had to get everything ready for the temp person.  I still really wanted to  write a post about it so I figured that I would write it and post it now.

I chose this one because I have had major issues with nerves the past couple of weeks.  At the end of February I chipped a tooth while I was eating so I had to find a dentist and also figure out how I am going to pay to get it fixed since I don’t have dental insurance.  When I was younger I had to have 2 sets of braces and the 2nd set was super painful.  Ever since then I have always had major issues when it came to going to the dentist.  Since I had chipped my tooth I had to go I couldn’t put it off any longer.  As I was calling around to find a dentist I literally wanted to have a panic attack because the thought of going to a dentist made me so nervous.

I finally did find a dentist and the first 2 times I saw him I was super nervous and anxious but now that I have seen him twice I don’t have the same problem.  I have to go back in may to have more work done but I don’t get nervous at all thinking about it.  When I get nervous I always just force myself to do whatever makes me nervous because I know that it will all pass with time.  I have learned to just talk myself through the situation because as I have gotten older I have had more issues with nerves and I think that is something that the MS has caused.   I know that I can talk myself through situations and then after time they aren’t as scary and don’t make me nervous like they did in the beginning.
