I Always Wanted To Be . . . 21

21

This week for the writers workshop I am going to be talking about the age I always wanted to be.  As long as I can remember I wanted to be 21 because I figured that once I was 21 I could do everything so there was no reason to get any older.  Now that I am almost 29 I still want to only be 21.

Best part of me wanting to be 21 was that when I turned 21 I didn’t drink in fact I didn’t drink until I was 22 and now I still don’t really drink because I hate the taste and I hate the way it makes me feel.  To this day I am not sure why I wanted to be 21 but I did.  I still remember my birthday that year because it was a few months after I had my daughter and it was still a rough time for me.

It is crazy to me how everyone always wants to be different ages.  One of my old friends always wanted to be 22 and she was never sure why.  I have to wonder what makes us want to be certain ages and what not.

What age did you always want to be?

Lessons Learned

Lessons Learned

Last week one of the prompts for the writers workshop what about lessons that I have learned.  I really like this topic so I figured I would write about it today and let everyone know some of the lessons I have learned.

  1. I have learned that if something can go wrong it probably will go wrong.
  2. I never say “it  can’t get any worse” because trust me it will probably get worse.
  3. Things always seem to happen in sets of 3.
  4. People somehow know when you are having a bad day and do everything they can to get on your nerves.
  5. If I have a book review due and I haven’t started on the book yet I will get a migraine making me want to just kill myself as I am trying to read the book.
  6. Cops are the worst drivers.
  7. I always find something to laugh about when I am having a bad day because laughing is better than crying.
  8. Don’t give into people who just want to argue with you.  The one thing I learned from my ex husband was to just stare at the person who is pissed off and that is better than stooping down to their level.
  9. Always try to look on the positive side of things in your life.
  10. Don’t let total strangers get to you when they say mean things about you or to you.  If you don’t know the person than they don’t know you and since they don’t know you what they are saying isn’t true.
  11. Keep your friends and family close because you will need them.

Those are 11 things I have learned that I figured I would share with you.  What lesson have you learned that you would add to this list if you could?

First Concert

My First Concert

The first concert I attend (or at least I think it was my first) was NSYNC.  I was in 7th or 8th grade.  I went with one of my best friends back then.  I can still remember waiting in line to buy the tickets months and months before the show.  I remember every little detail about the show and remember how I was the day after the show.

I remember I was super sad and depressed because I had looked forward to going to see them for months and months and then it was over and I felt like I didn’t have anything else to look forward to.  I remember that my grandma laughed at me when I told her why I was sad and now that I look back at it I have to laugh as well.  It crazy how I looked at things when I was younger and how  big this concert was build up in my head.  I did go and see them one more time along with a few other boy bands that were popular at the time.

Now that I am an adult I tend to want to go and see more comedians than music stars.  I have seen Jeff Dunham twice and I loved every second of those shows.  I stake his website so I will know when he come back and my brother and I can go and see him again.  It is weird to me that I love music so much but the thought of going to a musical concert makes me head hurt now.  When I was younger I loved the loud music at concerts and now I don’t think I would be able to stay through the whole thing no matter how much I loved the show.

Who did you see for your first concert? Do you like to see comedians or music stars more?

8 Places

8 Places

This week for the writers workshop I am going to write about number 5 which is eight places you’d go this summer if money weren’t an object.  It was hard for me to get it down to just eight places because I love to travel, and if I could, I would go all the time.  Here are the eight places I would go if money weren’t an object.

  1. Yellowstone-I loves Yellowstone so much that if I could pick one place to go on a vacation to every year, this would be the place.  We went there when I was younger all the time and now that I am an adult I miss going.
  2. Michigan-I went here the year I graduated from high school, and I can’t wait to go back.  I loved everything about this state.
  3. Ireland-Since I have started listening to Celtic Thunder I want to go and experience the country see the sights.
  4. Australia-I has always wanted to go here, and I am not sure why other than the fact that it looks super beautiful.
  5. New York City – I have been in the state when we went to Michigan the summer I graduated, but I want to see and experience New York City.
  6. A Cruise-I would go a cruise pretty much anywhere so that I could say I have gone on one.
  7. Florida-I want to go the Disney World along with just seeing the state.
  8. England-I love all of the history that you can see and experience in England, and I would like to just wander around and explore the country.

Where have you always wanted to go?

Writers Workshop-Pinterest

Mama’s Losin’ It

I haven’t done any thing for the writers workshop and since I haven’t had time to actually write in the past couple of weeks I figured that I would write about 2.) Are you on Pinterest? Share the last five items you pinned, choose one and let it inspire a blog post.  I have been signed up for months for Pinterest but I never used it until the past 2 weeks or so and I am hooked!  I am pinning all day long at work and when I am surfing the web.  There are a lot of fun things I couldn’t just pick one so I am going to post some of my favorites here today instead of writing a post about just one.
