Cradle My Heart

Craddle My HeartAbortion continues to be a hot topic in politics, women’s rights, and medical practice. But for the eight to ten million American Christian women who have had one, abortion is a spiritual issue as well, raising questions of life and death, heaven and hell, grief and loss.

Writing from her own experience, Kim Ketola sheds light on one of the darkest and most neglected personal issues of our time: the widespread need for healing and spiritual recovery after abortion. “After abortion brought the worst trouble into my life I had ever known,” writes Ketola, “I just couldn’t see my way free to believe in God’s love.”

With a compassionate heart, Ketola offers ten true stories of healing promise from the Bible to help women answer the most common spiritual torments they face: Is abortion a sin? Does God hate me? Where can I turn in my shame and distress? How could I ever tell anyone the truth? And more.

Inspired by Romans 6:4–“just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life”–this is a definitive resource to help women see themselves and God anew and–finally–to find spiritual healing.

My Review-Cradle My Heart

This book is amazing.  As you know I placed my daughter for adoption so I have never had an abortion.  This book even helped me with some of the issues I have had since I placed my daughter for adoption.  I didn’t think I would get anything out of the book but after I finished the book I was so glad that I took the time to read it.  There are so many great things about this book that there is no way that I can do justice to the book with a review.  I would recommend this book to anyone who has had an abortion or even placed a child for adoption.  This book gave me hope and made me see how I can make changes and get into a better place when it comes to dealing with my feelings from the adoption.

Defending Jacob

Book Description

Andy Barber has been an assistant district attorney in his suburban Massachusetts county for more than twenty years. He is respected in his community, tenacious in the courtroom, and happy at home with his wife, Laurie, and son, Jacob. But when a shocking crime shatters their New England town, Andy is blindsided by what happens next: His fourteen-year-old son is charged with the murder of a fellow student.

Every parental instinct Andy has rallies to protect his boy. Jacob insists that he is innocent, and Andy believes him. Andy must. He’s his father. But as damning facts and shocking revelations surface, as a marriage threatens to crumble and the trial intensifies, as the crisis reveals how little a father knows about his son, Andy will face a trial of his own—between loyalty and justice, between truth and allegation, between a past he’s tried to bury and a future he cannot conceive.

Award-winning author William Landay has written the consummate novel of an embattled family in crisis—a suspenseful, character-driven mystery that is also a spellbinding tale of guilt, betrayal, and the terrifying speed at which our lives can spin out of control.

My Review

I can’t say enough good things about this book!  I loved everything about this book and I didn’t want to put it down the entire time I was reading it.  The author does a great job keeping the reader interested and making the characters totally relate able.  I love how the book will go from the dad on testfiying before the grand jury and then telling the story through other parts.  I didn’t expect the ending at all and this for sure a book that I be reading again and I am sure my family and friends will love this book as well.  I loved reading about how each of the family members dealt with the pain and how it affected them.  I am sure going to check out more books by this author.

PRESCRIPTION TO KILL!

My Review

I loved this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I could not put this book down because the characters are doctors and it is a mystery.  I have never read a book like this before and now I am hooked on them.   I loved the characters and I was sad when one of the main characters gets killed.  I was also rooting for her best friend to figure out who killed her.  Now I knew the main person they thought killed her didn’t do it but I couldn’t figure out who really did it.  Every chapter when they found out something new I would change who I thought did it but I never would have figured out who really did it.  After I found out who did it I just sat there in shock because I never would have guessed in 100 years that they did it.  I also loved how the author wrote a little bit about most of the main characters right at the beginning so you would know a little about them and also so you can go back and look at them if you forget who someone is and how they tie into the story.

I can’t any enough good things about this book!  Everyone needs  to read this book!  Go here and pick the book up you won’t regret it!

The Shadow Of Your Smile

Back Of The Book

A beautiful blanket of snow may cover the quaint town of Deep Haven each winter, but it can’t quite hide the wreckage of Noelle and Eli Hueston’s marriage.  After twenty-five years, they’re contemplating divorce . . . just as soon as their youngest son graduates from high school. But then an accident erases part of Noelle’s memory. Though her other injuries are minor, she doesn’t remember Eli, their children, or the tragedy that has ripped their family apart. What’s more, Noelle is shocked that her life has turned out nothing like she dreamed it would. As she tries to regain her memory and slowly steps into her role as a wife and mother, Eli helps her readjust to daily life with sometimes-hilarious, sometimes-heartwarming results. But can she fall in love again with a man she can’t remember?
Will their secrets destroy them . . . or has erasing the past given them a chance for a future? Read the story behind the story here.

My Review

I loved this book!!!!!!  This type of book isn’t usually what I like to read but I couldn’t put this book down.  I read it in 3 days and was sad when it was over.  I don’t think are words to describe how I feel about this book.  The characters were so easy for me to relate to and her writing captured me in from the very beginning.  I really didn’t think that I would like this book because like I said it isn’t my usual type of book but I am so glad that I read it and have found this author.  I can’t wait to read more of her books.  If you love romance books I am sure you will like this one.  I has a touch of romance along with a little bit of mystery thrown in.  I can’t say anything else but that I love this book and I know you will as well!

Inner Window: An OSS Adventure

The Inner Window Cover

Inner Window: An OSS Adventure
by R. C. Souther

To the untrained eyes, Colena is a picture of a girl next door enjoying the best years of her life. Navigating the waters of Lake Chelan with her love interest, Bill, and close friends, Larry and Susan, she appears to be at the zenith of her life.

Yet the lake triggers memories of a life deeply locked in the inner recesses of Colena’s mind. The memories, as they unravel, challenge her cherished relationship with Bill.

In Inner Window, by R. C. Souther, we see a young girl thrust in the intrigues and life-and-death games of global espionage, all in the service of her nation during World War II. Barely coming out of it alive, she must race to retrieve her memories in order to gain back control of her own destiny.

Will she be successful in the attempt and gain her freedom, or will she wilt and surrender under the stress and fear of what she might discover about herself?

My Review

This book was hard for me to get into.  For some reason the writing just didn’t grab my attention.  It also took me awhile to get through it because I really couldn’t focus on it.  Now my grandma on the other hand really enjoyed the book so it just wasn’t the right fit for me.  I may try and read it again a little bit later and see if I can get into it.  I would recomend that people at least give this book a shot.  Over all it is a good story and it is interesting as she gets her memories back a little bit at a time.

imPRESS Press-on Manicure- Review

I recently signed up for Influenster and I received my very first VoxBox from their program.  The thing that is so great about it is that the box’s are free.  You sign up and then unlock badges for things that interest you.  When they have a box that matches your interests and things that you influence they send you that months box for free.  In the box that I received this month they had these great imPress Press-on Manicure nails in them.

These nails are so super cute and are so easy to use.  Most of you know that I do get my nails done but if I didn’t I would be all over these because they have great styles and patterns.  They also have most of the crazy things that I do on my nails now.  I really recommend these to anyone who wants the look of nails without the cost.  They are so cute and if I ever stop getting my nails do I am for sure going to be using these.
