Romance Book

Counting on a Cowboy by Debra Clopton

Book Review

Counting on a Cowboy by Debra Clopton was a super sweet love story.  This is the second book in the series and I have read and reviewed it so you can click here if you want to check out that review.  You don’t have to read the first book to understand what is going on in this book so if you are just interested in this book you can just start here.  I think these two characters are my favorite so far in this series because they seem the most relatable to me.  I really loved Abby because she seemed so relatable to be and there were times where I laughed out loud at the things that Bo did when Levi was first dropped of and he had to figure out what to do and how to do it.  I laughed because I could see my brother doing things like that if he was forced to take care of a new baby that was just dropped off.   I you love romance novels than I would for sure recommend this book to you.

About The Book

Counting on a Cowboy (Thomas Nelson, August 2015)

After losing everything she held dear, Abby never wants to love again. But a certain cowboy may just spur her to wonder if love might be worth the risk.

Running from a past that haunts her, Abby Knightly is drawn to the cozy town of Wishing Springs, Texas. Maybe this small town could offer hope and healing and a future for Abby . . . if she’s brave enough to reach out and take it by the reins.

Bo Monahan isn’t interested in the new romantic destination his little town has become—or the women who might be looking at him like he’s their next Mr. Right. Between taking care of his Pops and his growing stirrup business, he isn’t looking for serious romantic commitments. But when the infant son he never knew about shows up at his doorstep, his world is turned upside down.

This confirmed bachelor might not think he needs a wife, but he sure needs help. Even Abby can see that, and despite her best efforts to keep her distance, she can’t help but be drawn to this new father-son duo. As Abby throws herself into helping Bo navigate fatherhood, hope sparks between them, revealing that maybe, just maybe, they can navigate their dark pasts and emerge together into a future as bright as the Texas sun itself.

Hello, My Love by E Journey

iRead Book Tour Logo Medium

Hello, My Love by E Journey was an amazing book to read.  This is the first book in the Between Two Worlds series.  I will also be reviewing the other two book in the coming weeks so make sure that you check back for those reviews.  This book was an easy read and I think that has to do with the fact that the line spacing & margins on the pages are a little bit bigger than some other books I have read.  I love that because I am able to read a little bit more before I have to take a break because of my eyes.  I can’t say enough good things about this book and this author.  I loved everything about this book and I can’t wait to read the other 2 books.  I really like Elise and Greg and I loved that they threw in a little bit of a mystery so it just wasn’t a love story.  This book is really well rounded and it is one that I am going to keep and add it to my collection of books.  If you love romance novels than I know you will love this book.

hello my love - ebook_72

About The Book

This thoughtful woman’s romance novel explores the inner life (thoughts, hopes, and doubts) of a couple as they contend with the realities of compelling relationships.
A modern-day pastiche of Jane Austen novels. Elise is a bright, beautiful law student, focused on a career and distrustful of men. She butts heads with Greg at her parents’ dinner parties. Dark, good-looking, internet-business owner, he finds Elise intriguing, so unlike the dark-haired seductive beauties he used to escort around.

Specter of revenge. Unable to deny their attraction for each other, they spend an unexpected night together two days before he is to wed someone else. Lori, the jilted fiancée, exacts revenge, tearing Greg and Elise apart and forcing them to face who they are and what they really want.

An accident. Older and wiser, Greg and Else reunite two years later. He is in for a surprise. Later, their lives are thrown again into disarray when Elise becomes the victim of a hit-and-run. Is Lori back to haunt them again?

A delicious romance with a literary slant, spiced with a twist of whodunit.

EJourney

About The Author

E Journey is a realist who thinks she has little imagination. Credit that to her training (Ph. D., University of Illinois) and work in mental health, writing for academics and bureaucrats, and critiquing the work of others. She’s been striving ever since to think and write like normal people.

She’s a well-traveled flâneuse—a female observer-wanderer—who watches, observes, listens. And writes. A sucker for happy endings, she finds enough that depresses her about real life, but seeks no catharsis by writing about it. For her, writing is escape, entertainment. She doesn’t strive to enlighten. Not deliberately. But the bias of her old profession does carry over into her writing. So, instead of broad shoulders and heaving bosoms, she goes into protagonists’ thoughts, emotions, inner conflicts, insecurities, and struggles to reach balance and grow.

First Sight by Laura Donohue

Book Review

First Sight by Laura Donohue was a great book.  I love that this was a shorter book to read and that makes it easy for me to fit into my schedule.  This was such a great story and I can’t wait to read more books by her in the future.  This book was easy to read and understand.  Her writing also made me want to keep reading because I had to know what happened and how the story ended.  I loved the characters and the setting of this story.  I think one of the reasons I loved this story so much was because I have always wanted something like this to happen in my life so I felt like I could relate to the story & characters.  This was a sweet love story that I would recommend to anyone who love romance novels and is looking for a super sweet love story to read.

Book Review

A Heart’s Home by Colleen Coble is the last book in the series.  I loved this book because I think the characters in this book are my favorite which is why I loved this book so much.  I was sad to see this series come to an end because I really did love everything about this  series.  I am going to have a post up in a couple of weeks where I will link all the reviews so you will be able to check them all out if you want to read any of them.  I felt so bad for Emmie because of the promise that she made to her friend because I can’t even imagine what it would feel like knowing that you may have to marry a man who you don’t love because of a promise you made before your friend died.  I love how everything worked and how everyone ended up happy.  If you love books by Colleen Coble than I would for sure check out this series of books.

Through Waters Deep by Sarah Sundin

Book Review

Through Waters Deep by Sarah Sundin was another great book.  I have read another series by this author so this book had big shoes to fill and it lived up to everything that I hoped it would.  I also love this book because it is my favorite type of historical fiction to read.  I love pretty much everything that takes place during WWII.  Anyway let’s get back to the review of this book.  Loved following along as Mary tries to figure out who is behind all the crazy things that are going on and I also loved following along as Mary & Jim spend so much time together and start to fall in love.  I can’t say enough good things about this  book and this author.  She does an amazing job writing these stories and making you feel like you are there with the characters.  If you love historical fiction than make sure you don’t miss this story.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Beth K. Vogt

Book Review

Crazy Little Thing Called Love by Beth K. Vogt was a fun book to read.  The one thing that stuck with me throughout the entire book is how much didn’t like Ted.  There wasn’t any point in this book where I liked him and how he acted.  At first I wasn’t a huge fan of Vanessa because of how she let Ted talk her into something that she didn’t want but after I was a few chapters in I really did start to like her.  The one character that I loved from the first time he showed up was Logan and to be honest is the reason I kept reading in the beginning.  I do love this authors style of writing and I have read a couple of other books by her and she has never let me down.  I loved how this book end and I can’t wait to read more books in this series.

Crazy Little Thing Called Love

About The Book

Crazy Little Thing Called Love: A Destination Wedding Novel(Howard, June 2015)

Wedding bells and storm clouds collide in the first engaging novel in a brand-new series about destination weddings, the power of love, and the possible mishaps and missteps that happen on a couple’s journey down the aisle to “I do.”

Paramedic Vanessa Hollister has put her adolescence behind her, including the unwanted label of being the new kid in town over and over again, thanks to her father’s military career. She’s overcome what her mother called “the biggest mistake of her life” and is planning an elegant destination wedding in Destin, Florida with her new fiancé. But will the reappearance of her first husband from her what-were-you-thinking teenage elopement disrupt her dream of an idyllic beach wedding?

As a professional storm chaser, Logan Hollister is used to taking risks. However, a reckless decision during the last tornado season has him questioning the future of his team, the Stormmeisters. Coming face to face with his ex-wife eight years after their divorce compels him to confront his greatest regret: losing Vanessa. Does their past give him the right to interfere with her future?

A fast-moving, powerful hurricane throws Vanessa and Logan together as they evacuate to a storm shelter along with other residents of the Florida Gulf Coast. Forced to spend time together, the pair battles unexpected renewed feelings for each other.

Vanessa and Logan are faced with a choice: Should they accept, once and for all, their teenage marital mistake? Or is God offering them a second chance at happily ever after?
