A Beautiful Taste by Lilliana Anderson

Book Review

A Beautiful Taste by Lilliana Anderson was a super sweet story.  There are 5 or 6 books before this one in the series but you don’t have to read them in order to know what is going on in this book.  I haven’t read any of the other ones and I had no problem following this story.  It was an easy read which is nice but it also held my attention which some books that are easy to read aren’t able to do.  I loved the characters in this book and the setting of the book.  The one thing I do know is that I am going to have to go back and read the other books in this series because I truly enjoyed this book and the author’s writing.  If you love contemporary romance novels than this is one that I think you need to read!

About The Book

It’s never easy to go back. That’s something chef, Bradley Rae is sweating bullets about as the date of his school’s kayaking team reunion draws near. When his friend and teammate, Elliot Roberts, convinces him to go, he thinks he’ll be fine going back there. After all, chances are, she won’t be there at all. It’s been almost ten years. Maybe she she’s moved away. Maybe he won’t see her at all…

Dakota Morgan is a girl with many regrets, and Bradley Rae is on top of that list. You see, she did something – she didn’t wait five minutes, and that tiny amount of impatience changed the course of her life forever.

When her father sets up a fundraising reunion for their family owned kayaking club, her heart beats out of control when she sees Brad’s name on that list. Part of her wants to refuse to go so she doesn’t have to face him. But a larger part of her needs to see him, even if it’s just a window into what might have been…

When Brad and Dakota meet again, will sparks fly, or will the past remain firmly in the past? And what about secrets? Can they survive the reality of what that one split decision, made all those years ago, has done? Or will they let it all go again?

A Love Like Ours by Becky Wade

Book Review

A Love Like Ours by Becky Wade was a super sweet story.  This is the third book in the series but you don’t have to read the other two in order to understand and follow along with this story.  I love when I have read the series to be able to check back in with the characters that you come to love after reading a whole book about them.  If you missed my reviews on the other two books you can click here and here to check them out.  Anyway lets get back to the review of this book.  Out of all the Porter brothers I have to say that Jake has been my favorite.  Maybe that is because I grew up in the military but I really liked him and felt so bad for him because of everything he went through.  I spent the whole time I was reading this book hoping that everything would work out great for Jake & Lyndie because I truly loved both of them.  This is a sweet story that everyone who love contemporary romance books should check out!

A Love Like Ours

About The Book

A Love Like Ours (Bethany House, May 2015)

Former Marine Jake Porter has far deeper scars than the one that marks his face. He struggles with symptoms of PTSD, lives a solitary life, and avoids relationships.

When Lyndie James, Jake’s childhood best friend, lands back in Holley, Texas, Jake cautiously hires her to exercise his Thoroughbreds. Lyndie is tender-hearted, fiercely determined, and afraid of nothing, just like she was as a child. Jake pairs her with Silver Leaf, a horse full of promise but lacking in results, hoping she can solve the mystery of the stallion’s reluctance to run.

Though Jake and Lyndie have grown into very different adults, the bond that existed during their childhood still ties them together. Against Jake’s will, Lyndie’s sparkling, optimistic personality begins to tear down the walls he’s built around his heart. A glimmer of the hope he’d thought he’d lost returns, but fears and regrets still plague him. Will Jake ever be able to love Lyndie like she deserves, or is his heart too shattered to mend?

Side by Side by Jana Kelley

Book Review

Side by Side by Jana Kelley was a very unique book.  I have never read a book like this one before and I have to say that I think more people should write books like this one.  I didn’t want this book to end because it was so interesting watching the characters grow and learn about other people and their personal beliefs.  I love how this book was inspired by things that the author went through so that always makes the book seem more real or at least it does to me.  This was a great book and I was sad when it came to the end of the book.  I would recommend this book to everyone who is looking for an interesting book or a unique idea because this was both of those things.

Borrowing The Doctor by Victoria Pinder

Book Review

Borrowing The Doctor by Victoria Pinder was a fun book to read.  I instantly fell in love with the characters and the authors writing.  This is the second book in the series and I didn’t read the first book and I was just fine with understanding what was going on in this book.  I love when you don’t have to read each book in a series to understand what is going on in the book.  Anyway back to the review for this book.  I love Daniel from the first time you get to see him.  If I am being honest I wasn’t a huge fan of Kate or her sister and I am not sure why.  I mean I know why I disliked her sister from the start but I have no idea why I didn’t like Kate right away.  After a few chapters Kate did grow on me and she became one of my favorite characters.  This book was an easy read which I always enjoy.  I am for sure going to check out the other books in this series.

The Art Of Falling by Julie Jarnagin

Book Review

The Art Of Falling by Julie Jarnagin was a great short story to read.  This was such an easy read and I did enjoy it but at times it felt rushed and I wish that more time would have been spent on some of chapters in the book.  The one thing about short books that I don’t enjoy is they tend to feel rushed because they cut things out to keep the story short.  I really did enjoy the  characters in this book and the setting of the book.  I can’t wait to read others books by this author because she is an amazing author and makes you feel like you are their with the characters.  If you love contemporary romance books than I know you will love this short story.

The Art Of Falling

About The Book

Heather Tornsten needs a man…a celebrity, more specifically, for a fundraising gala for the Dallas art museum, where she works. And what better headliner than bull rider Wyatt Lawrence? Although why people idolize grown men who make their living falling off animals, she’ll never understand.

When his mom was diagnosed with cancer, Wyatt determined to focus on doing what she wants—like visiting some art museum. But when his mom teams up with Heather Tornsten to get him involved in a fundraiser, he knows he’s been set up. The more involved he gets with the pretty events coordinator, the more he realizes falling off a bull is far safer. Because falling for Heather–who has made it clear that she won’t risk her heart on any man who courts danger–might break a whole lot more than his bones.

Secondhand Cowboy by Lacy Williams

Book Review

Secondhand Cowboy by Lacy Williams was a great book.  I have a soft spot for books that involve cowboys and this one didn’t let me down.  I loved the setting of this book and I loved the authors writing as well.  This book didn’t keep my guessing about what was going on but that was okay because I just loved the story and the characters in this book.  The author did a great job of making me feel like I was there with the characters and also making me understand why the characters made the choices that they did throughout the whole book.  If you love sweet contemporary romance books that I would recommend this book to you.
