His Risk by Shelley Shepard Gray was a good book but for this first time this wasn’t one of my favorites by this author. I always knew that this day would probably come that I read a book by her that I didn’t like, and this book is that for me. I didn’t like this book because it seemed to far-fetched for me. This book was well written I just had a hard time believing that Calvin started out life as Amish and then ended up being an informant. I just seemed like a huge jump and that made it hard for me to believe. Other than that, though it was a good book and I really liked Alice throughout the entire book. I am sure the most people would enjoy this book it just wasn’t a good fit for me.

Keturah by Lisa T. Bergren was a sweet story. I love that the author made the main character’s strong independent women because it isn’t commonly done in books that happen during the 1700’s. This is the first book that I have read by this author, and I can’t wait to read others especially more in this series. I think I loved Verity the most and I hope that she will be one of the main characters in the next book. Since this book is a historical fiction novel, I did get bored from time to time because I always have a hard time staying interested when books take place this much is the past. I spent the entire book rooting for Keturah to come out on top. If you love reading historical fiction books that have a strong female lead than I know you will like this book as much as I did.

The Nephilim Virus by John T. Prather was a book that I didn’t think I would enjoy reading but in the end, I loved the book. I requested a copy of this book because I knew it would either be really good or terrible and I knew I wanted to find out which way it was going to go. I had no idea who the author was when I saw this book and to be honest I still haven’t really looked him up because I couldn’t be careless that he is an actor. I know I judge the book from the start because I was skeptical when it came to him being a writer and I loved that I was proved wrong because he is a fantastic author and I can’t wait to read more books by him in the future.
Anyway, let’s get on to talk about this book and my thoughts and feelings about it. Like I said before I loved this book and I think I may like just as much like the book “1984”. I can’t pinpoint what I want about this book, but I really did enjoy just about everything. I really liked Nick right from the start but it did take some time for me to want Faith but by the end of the book I had fallen in love with her. I didn’t like when they quoted big chunks of the bible because it just bored me. Once I was in the middle of the book I just skipped those parts because I didn’t want to waste my time on those parts. Other than that I loved this book. If you like dystopian novels, then I would for sure check out this book.

The Melody of the Soul by Liz Tolsma was a book that I love right from the start. I knew going into this book that I was probably going to like it and I am so glad that I did. I am a huge fan of any books that take place during WWII, so I always get worried that I will find a book that I don’t like. I love that the characters in this book aren’t Americans because it gives you a different view of the horrible things that happened during WWII. I am so glad that there are more books in this series because I fell in love with all of the characters in this book and the setting of the book. I have read few other books by this author, and I think I loved them just as much as I did this book. If you are a lover of books that take place during WWII than I would pick up a copy of this book because I am sure you will love it like I do.

Imperfect Justice by Cara Putman was a great book. The first thing I want to say is that if you don’t like to read books that have domestic violence in them than I would skip this book because that is a big theme in the book. I have read several other books by this author in the past, and I have liked the ones that I have read. I really enjoy books like this one, and I rarely find one that I don’t want. Like most books in this genre, I was able to figure out what was going to happen by the end of the book. It did keep me on the edge of my seat throughout the first half of the book, but even though by then I had figured out what was going to happen I still read it right through until the end because I had to know all of the details. I really enjoyed all of the characters in the book well everyone but Kaylene’s husband. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves Christian legal thrillers. All Things Now Living by Rondi Bauer Olson was a good book. I really did enjoy this book but I found that I was always comparing it to 1984 by George Orwell and Divergent by Veronica Roth. Those are my favorite two books in this genre so I always end up comparing them all when I am reading. Now with that being said I really did enjoy this book and I can’t wait to more books in this series. Unlike the other books that I mention this book didn’t have anything it in that might offend people and I think it would be great for teenagers of all ages. I really enjoyed this authors writing and like I said I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. This book didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat and I was able to figure out how it was going to end but that didn’t bother me in the least. If you love dystopian novels I am sure that you will enjoy this book as much I have.
