No Safe Harbor by Elizabeth Ludwig

No Safe Harbor

About

She came to America searching for her brother. Instead all she’s found is a web of danger.
Cara Hamilton had thought her brother to be dead. Now, clutching his letter, she leaves Ireland for America, desperate to find him. Her search leads her to a houseful of curious strangers, and one man who claims to be a friend–Rourke Walsh. Despite her brother’s warning, Cara trusts Rourke, revealing her purpose in coming to New York.
She’s then thrust into a world of subterfuge, veiled threats, and attempted murder, including political revolutionaries from the homeland out for revenge. Her questions guide her ever nearer to locating her brother–but they also bring her closer to destruction as those who want to kill him track her footsteps.
With her faith in tatters, all hope flees. Will her brother finally surface? Can he save Cara from the truth about Rourke… a man she’s grown to love?

My Review

I loved this book.  Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down.  I fell in love with Cara and hoped through the whole book that she would find her brother.  I knew once she trusted Rourke that everything would get more complicated but I hoped that in the end things would work out for her.  On a side note I have recently started listening to a group of singers called Celtic Thunder and I imagine Rourke to be one of the singers from that group so I always liked him.  Anyway, back to the review I have to say I liked the ending in once sense but on the other hand it made me sad as well.  I wish that everything would have worked out for her but the way it is left it could still work out and I hope that it does.

My Review

A very well written book, combining action, philosophy and science. Though sometimes heavy on the science side of things the book uses dialogue and character development to move you comfortably through some of the heavier bits allowing to the book to flow and bring you along, without making  you feel  like your in some college lecture hall. An excellence example of a talented writer combining mystery and science fiction into a riveting book. For those who like a great read with a lot of technical information, well researched, to back up the plot this book is for you. The author does a great job of introducing ideas and plot twists then bringing you into the story, making you not want to put the book down.

Amazing Artwork With #AlphabetPhotography

#AlphabetPhotography

I was so excited when I this offer to get a free picture because I have always liked the look of them.  I was so excited when I found out that I was chosen to get one and review it.  These would make great gifts for the holiday’s.  They are something that can dress up an area in your home or office.  I chose to get my daughters name who I placed for adoption almost 8 years ago.  This is what mine looks like:
Alphabet Photography-Whole PictureI am still kicking myself because I didn’t take pictures of how well it was shipped.  I was totally shocked at how well they packaged it to ship.  I do tons of online shopping and this was by far the best wrapping I have ever seen.   You definitely don’t have to worry about the glass or any other part of the picture breaking while they are being shipped to you.  I also love how each on of the pictures is signed by the person who put together the picture for you.  Here is a picture of the artist who put mine together:

Author Signature

They also have over 1000 different pictures that they can use to make your words or names.  I love the fact that I could add the hearts to the front and back of the picture.  Here are a couple of close ups on the letters themselves:

lastletters 2

As you can see they are great pictures and a great present to give.  Like  I said before they are great to put up in your house of office.  It would be nice to get your last name done and then put it above your fireplace or behind your desk in your office.  They are great quality and they have so many different pictures of each letter that you can spend hours mixing and matching different letters together until you find something that totally matches your personality and also the decor you already have in your home.

If you are looking for unique gifts this is one that I am sure anyone would love to receive!

The perfect customized gift that includes photographs from all over the world, this is the original Alphabet Photography. Celebrity owners include: Prince Charles, Prince William and Kate, Tyra Banks, Ryan Seacrest, Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, John Schneider, Nelly Furtado, and many more!

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Alphabet Photography. The opinions and text are all mine.

One Place

2.) Name a place in the world that you never want to visit?

I am not sure if you know but I love to travel.  I love exploring new places and eating different foods.  That being said there are several places that I would never want to travel to.  I think the place that would have to take 1st for me is India. One PlaceHere are a few of the reasons why I would never want to travel to India:

  • To many people for me.  I hate crowds and there always seems to be so many people there and I don’t think I can handle it.
  • It seems dirty.  People I know that have gone there say that it has a very distinct smell.
  • I always hear about people getting sick when they are there.  Since they don’t have the same standards that we do in America it would be worried about getting sick from eating the food or drinking water.

Those are just 3 reasons that came to mind right away.  It just doesn’t seem like anyplace I would like to travel too.

Where is your one place?

Printcopia Review & Giveaway

Printcopia

Printcopia is a great place to go and get your pictures turned into artwork.   It is super easy to upload your pictures and adjust them to how you like them.

I just love how the picture I had done turned out.  It reminds me of a painting and it is such a great idea to give as gifts this year.  Canvas prints are a great way to add to walls and give pictures a finished looked. I love that all you have to do is hang it on the wall and it good to go.  I have found that there is nothing worse that getting a print made only to realize that you still have to and find a frame or even find the parts to hang it on the wall.  All you have to do with these is put a nail in the wall and it is ready to hang.

They also make banners so make sure you check out their site!

Make sure you enter to win a free 8×10 canvas print of your own!
