One Summer Night by Caridad Pineiro was a sweet but predictable book.  Even when saying that I fell in love with the characters and the setting so much that I am going to read other books by this author.  I was such a huge fan of Owen throughout the entire book.  Maggie at times did get on my nerves but I did like her more than her friend Tracy.  Tracy right from the start got on my damn nerves right from the first chapter.  I was so glad that she wasn’t a super big part of the plot because she just bugged me.  This was a very typical book in this genre but I still really enjoyed it and the author writing as I said before.  If you love chick lit than I am sure you will enjoy this story as much as I did.

Dead Cold by Jennifer Chase

FTC: I received a free copy of this book from Pump Up Your Book in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation and the opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent true and my own.

Dead Cold by Jennifer Chase was a good book.  It actually reminded of the “King and Maxwell” books that David Baldacci wrote.  I loved those books so when this book reminded me of that series this book had a lot to live up too.  I am happy to say that it did live up to what I hoped it would.  I really enjoyed watching Emily and Rick because they reminded me characters that I loved from another series of books.  I am happy that I found this book because I can’t wait to read more books in this series.  This book didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat, but it did keep me interested.  I was able to read this book enough fast which I always enjoy.  If you love thriller type books than I am sure you will enjoy this book and series as much as  I did.

Young and ambitious, Detective Danny Starr, catches the homicide cases and discovers that it will test everything he knows about police work and the criminal mind. Can he handle these escalating cases or will the police department have to call in reinforcements—the FBI.

Emily Stone’s covert team pushes with extreme urgency to unravel the grisly clues, while keeping their identities hidden from the police. Blood Loss by Ashley Fontainne & Lillian Hansen

Book Review Graphic

FTC: I received a free copy of this book from Pump Up Your Book in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation and the opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent true and my own.

Blood Loss by Ashley Fontainne & Lillian Hansen was a fascinating book.  This is the second book in the series, and I haven’t read the first book, but I still understood what was going on in this book.  I did wish I knew more of the back story, but it didn’t make me want to stop reading this book.  Right from the start this book hooked my interest and keep me interested right up through the end of the book.  This book didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat, but it did hold my interest throughout the entire thing.  I was such a fan of the characters that I am going to go back and read the first book even though I do know how it all works out in the end.  If you like mystery books, I would check this book out.

About The Book

Karina and LiAnn worked hard to put the awful memories behind them of the nightmare they walked into at The Magnolia and all the death and destruction caused by the former owners. As they settled into their new roles as managers of the upscale independent living facility, LiAnn reconnects with her true love and Karina continues to explore the new relationship with a sexy cowboy named Bo.

Each are haunted by the atrocities committed at The Magnolia and how close Karina came to dying at the hands of mafia monsters. With the help of her mother, beloved grandparents, new job, an enormous dog, and a hunky, younger man to keep her mind occupied, Karina lets her guard down, naively assuming the worst is over for her family.

Unfortunately, she’s wrong.

When one of the elderly residents of The Magnolia reveals the truth about a shady past, the entire Tuck family find themselves embroiled in one of Arkansas’s most notorious mysteries from 1957. The disappearance of a beloved attorney and her young charge was never solved, bodies never found, and even after over 60 years, Karina and LiAnn discover there are still those who intend to keep it that way.

FTC: I received a free copy of this book from Pump Up Your Book in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation and the opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent true and my own.

The Sullivans by Bella Andre (Boxed Set Books 1-3) was a great set of books.  I have gone back and forth on how I want to review the set.  I think I am just going to talk about them as a whole and not focus so much on the details from each of the stories.  I am doing it this way because each of the stories is different stories, but they all follow the same pattern.  I have loved this author and her books for years and years so when I saw I could get these to review I knew I had to get them.  I loved this series because you are following along with the one family and you are always getting to check in with the characters from the other books.  I love this author writing, and I can’t wait to finish this series and check out other books by her as well.  I found myself getting lost in the stories and I was able to read the books super quick, and they were great books that I would pick up and read when I was bored with the other books I had to read.  If you love romance books, I will check out this book because I am sure you will love it as much as I did.

THE LOOK OF LOVE
Chloe Peterson is having a bad night. A really bad night. The large bruise on her cheek can attest to that. And when her car skids off the side of a wet country road straight into a ditch, she’s convinced even the gorgeous guy who rescues her in the middle of the rain storm must be too good to be true. Or is he?

As a successful photographer who frequently travels around the world, Chase Sullivan has his pick of beautiful women, and whenever he’s home in San Francisco, one of his seven siblings is usually up for causing a little fun trouble. Chase thinks his life is great just as it is–until the night he finds Chloe and her totaled car on the side of the road in Napa Valley. Not only has he never met anyone so lovely, both inside and out, but he quickly realizes she has much bigger problems than her damaged car. Soon, he is willing to move mountains to love–and protect–her, but will she let him?

FROM THIS MOMENT ON
For thirty-six years, Marcus Sullivan has been the responsible older brother, stepping in to take care of his seven siblings after their father died when they were children. But when the perfectly ordered future he’s planned for himself turns out to be nothing but a lie, Marcus needs one reckless night to shake free from it all.

Nicola Harding is known throughout the world by only one name – Nico – for her catchy, sensual pop songs. Only, what no one knows about the twenty-five year old singer is that her sex-kitten image is totally false. After a terrible betrayal by a man who loved fame far more than he ever loved her, she vows not to let anyone else get close enough to find out who she really is…or hurt her again. Especially not the gorgeous stranger she meets at a nightclub, even though the hunger – and the sinful promises – in his dark eyes make her want to spill all her secrets.

CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE
Gabe Sullivan risks his life every day as a firefighter in San Francisco. But after learning a brutal lesson about professional boundaries, he knows better than to risk his heart to his fire victims ever again. Especially the brave mother and daughter he saved from a deadly apartment fire…and can’t stop thinking about.

Megan Harris knows she owes the heroic firefighter everything for running into a burning building to save her and her seven-year-old daughter. Everything except her heart. Because after losing her navy pilot husband five years ago, she has vowed to never suffer through loving – and losing – a man with a dangerous job again.

A Wanted Man by Robert Parker

FTC: I received a free copy of this book from Pump Up Your Book in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation and the opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent true and my own.

A Wanted Man by Robert Parker was a good book.  I had to remind myself that this book takes place in Britain, so some of the words seemed to be spelled wrong, but they are spelled right.  I also enjoyed that this book takes place in Britain because it is a nice change from all the books I read that take place in America.  It was such a nice change from what I usually read and really enjoyed that.  I really liked the characters in this book, and I think it moved at a great pace.  I was kept wondering what was going to happen next during the entire book.  I always love books like this because it makes reading them so faster.  He gives you the information you need to understand the book, but he doesn’t give you so many details that you get lost in them.  If you are looking for a new mystery author, I would for sure recommend this author to you because I really did enjoy this book.

Rejected by the army, disowned by his father, and any hopes of parenthood long since shattered, Ben has no anchors in his life.

No one to keep him steady.

No one to stop his cause…

The plan: to wreak justice on the man who had put him in prison in the first place.

Terry ‘The Turn-Up’ Masters, a nasty piece of work, whose crime organisation is based in London.

But before Ben can get started on his mission, another matter is brought to his attention: Jack’s father has been murdered, and he will not rest until the killers are found.

Suddenly, Ben finds himself drawn in to helping Jack in his quest for revenge.

In the process, he descends into the fold of Manchester’s most notorious crime organisation – the Berg – the very people he wants to bring down…

Tell On You by Freda Hansburg

Book Review Graphic

FTC: I received a free copy of this book from Pump Up Your Book in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation and the opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent true and my own.

Tell On You by Freda Hansburg was a book that kept me reading because I had to know what was going to happen next.  I would be lying if I said that I liked Jeremy.  Right from the start, I wasn’t a fan of him and the things that he did.  I couldn’t even make myself feel sorry for him no matter how hard I tried.  I really did enjoy this author writing though, and I would love to check out other books by her in the future.  I also wasn’t a huge fan of the girls either, but they acted how I would assume teenagers would act in today’s society.  I think the author did an excellent job of making the story come to life and I think that is what I enjoyed most about this book.  If you are looking for something different to read this summer, I would for sure recommend this book to you.

About The Book

Tell On You, the story of a married teacher’s fatal infatuation with his beautiful 16-year-old student, best fits into the emerging niche genre of “Grip Lit.” These novels, usually authored by women and inspired by the wildly successful Gone Girl, are thrillers with psychological nuances and frequently unreliable narrators. Readers love the must-turn-the-page suspense, even while they may dislike the characters. The author of Tell On You is a psychologist, well-acquainted with the dark corners of the heart.

About The Author

Freda Hansburg is a psychologist and author of the thriller, Shrink Rapt. She is also co-author of two self-help books, PeopleSmart – which has sold over 75,000 copies and been translated into ten languages – and Working PeopleSmart, as well as numerous professional publications. Her new thriller, Tell On You, will be published by Micro Publishing Media May 1, 2017. Freda lives in the South Carolina Lowcountry, where she is working on her next novel and her Pickleball game.
