Henry Wood Detective Agency

About

Henry Wood is an average detective, at best. His typical cases are boring, predictable, and safe, that is, until his new client walks through his door.

It is Jan 1, 1955 and up until now his world has been one of black and white, right and wrong, but Luna Alexander’s case is going to change all of that and there will forever be shades of grey. Henry will face the mob, question his own understanding of right and wrong, and need to make a decision that goes against everything he holds dear.

A bit of a lone wolf, he finds that sometimes one needs help from their friends. There are clues, like bread crumbs, being left by a mysterious benefactor who seems to have Henry’s best interest at heart, but will Henry put it all together in time?

My Review

First let me say that I thought it was  cool that that Brian started out as a blogger and the 2nd chapter of this book was written on his blog first.  I am always wondered if a blogger has actually gotten a publishing deal and now I know at least one person is.  I could not get into this book.  I love mysteries and I usually love books like this but I couldn’t get interested in it.  It did have great parts in the book but I wasn’t overly impressed with the book.   That being said I would still recommend the book to other people who like mystery books.  He has 2 more books and I think I am going to pick them up and read them.

If you have read this book what do you think of it?

The memories have started coming back, and it feels like she’s miles away from him. How can he protect her when she doesn’t even know she needs protecting?

Can these characters pierce their way through the darkness?

My Review

You start the book following the teacher  and all you know is that something happened to his wife and daughter a year before and that they passed away.  They a girl transferred into one of his classes and he recognizes her because she was the person who killed his family.  The girl is named Kandi and she has no idea why the teacher hates her.  You find out soon enough that she has no memory of what her evening knowing the teacher or of hurting his family.  Through the whole book you are getting more pieces of the past but you don’t find out how she hurt his family until the last few pages of the book.  I fell in love with the characters and I also loved how you didn’t know in the beginning of the book what happened to Mr Chandlers family.  I kept me so interested because I wanted to know what happened to his family and I also wanted to see if she would ever remember who he was and what she did to his family.  I would give this book 5 stars.  If you like mystery books you will love this one!

My Review

I really liked this book.  When I first started reading it I didn’t think I would like it but I end up really liking it.  It had me sitting on the edge of my seat and once I got to the last few chapters I couldn’t put it down so I stayed up late just to find out how it all ended.  I love the characters and I found that they were super relate able and I could see them being real people.  I hate books where there is no way that the characters could ever be real people because of how the author writes about them.

I would recomend this book to any who likes thrill/mystery books.

PRESCRIPTION TO KILL!

My Review

I loved this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I could not put this book down because the characters are doctors and it is a mystery.  I have never read a book like this before and now I am hooked on them.   I loved the characters and I was sad when one of the main characters gets killed.  I was also rooting for her best friend to figure out who killed her.  Now I knew the main person they thought killed her didn’t do it but I couldn’t figure out who really did it.  Every chapter when they found out something new I would change who I thought did it but I never would have figured out who really did it.  After I found out who did it I just sat there in shock because I never would have guessed in 100 years that they did it.  I also loved how the author wrote a little bit about most of the main characters right at the beginning so you would know a little about them and also so you can go back and look at them if you forget who someone is and how they tie into the story.

I can’t any enough good things about this book!  Everyone needs  to read this book!  Go here and pick the book up you won’t regret it!

The Shadow Of Your Smile

Back Of The Book

A beautiful blanket of snow may cover the quaint town of Deep Haven each winter, but it can’t quite hide the wreckage of Noelle and Eli Hueston’s marriage.  After twenty-five years, they’re contemplating divorce . . . just as soon as their youngest son graduates from high school. But then an accident erases part of Noelle’s memory. Though her other injuries are minor, she doesn’t remember Eli, their children, or the tragedy that has ripped their family apart. What’s more, Noelle is shocked that her life has turned out nothing like she dreamed it would. As she tries to regain her memory and slowly steps into her role as a wife and mother, Eli helps her readjust to daily life with sometimes-hilarious, sometimes-heartwarming results. But can she fall in love again with a man she can’t remember?
Will their secrets destroy them . . . or has erasing the past given them a chance for a future? Read the story behind the story here.

My Review

I loved this book!!!!!!  This type of book isn’t usually what I like to read but I couldn’t put this book down.  I read it in 3 days and was sad when it was over.  I don’t think are words to describe how I feel about this book.  The characters were so easy for me to relate to and her writing captured me in from the very beginning.  I really didn’t think that I would like this book because like I said it isn’t my usual type of book but I am so glad that I read it and have found this author.  I can’t wait to read more of her books.  If you love romance books I am sure you will like this one.  I has a touch of romance along with a little bit of mystery thrown in.  I can’t say anything else but that I love this book and I know you will as well!

Inner Window: An OSS Adventure

The Inner Window Cover

Inner Window: An OSS Adventure
by R. C. Souther

To the untrained eyes, Colena is a picture of a girl next door enjoying the best years of her life. Navigating the waters of Lake Chelan with her love interest, Bill, and close friends, Larry and Susan, she appears to be at the zenith of her life.

Yet the lake triggers memories of a life deeply locked in the inner recesses of Colena’s mind. The memories, as they unravel, challenge her cherished relationship with Bill.

In Inner Window, by R. C. Souther, we see a young girl thrust in the intrigues and life-and-death games of global espionage, all in the service of her nation during World War II. Barely coming out of it alive, she must race to retrieve her memories in order to gain back control of her own destiny.

Will she be successful in the attempt and gain her freedom, or will she wilt and surrender under the stress and fear of what she might discover about herself?

My Review

This book was hard for me to get into.  For some reason the writing just didn’t grab my attention.  It also took me awhile to get through it because I really couldn’t focus on it.  Now my grandma on the other hand really enjoyed the book so it just wasn’t the right fit for me.  I may try and read it again a little bit later and see if I can get into it.  I would recomend that people at least give this book a shot.  Over all it is a good story and it is interesting as she gets her memories back a little bit at a time.
