The Brickmaker’s Bride by Judith Miller was a fun read. This is the first book by Judith Miller that I have read and I have to say that she is a great author. I can’t wait to check out more books by her in the future. In this book you follow along with Ewan as he tries to make money running a brick maker because that is what he did in Ireland. Even as he works so hard trying to get the business up and running his uncle spends time gambling and almost ruining it all. I love this book because it did have twists and turns but it also had parts that made me just laugh. This is a well rounded novel that I would recommend to anyone who loves historical romance books.

A Lady At Willowgrove Hall by Sarah E. Ladd was another great book by Sarah E Ladd. I have to say that I don’t know that I have read a book written by her that I haven’t enjoyed. Anyway lets get on to the review of this book. I loved this book because it is such sweet love story. I have to say when I wanted to review this book because of the author not because the book sounds super good to me. I was pleasantly surprised by this book and I ended up really loving it when I didn’t know how much I would really like this book. It just goes to show that you really shouldn’t judge a book by even the back cover because I loved this book and I don’t know that I would have picked it up if it wasn’t for the fact that I love the author. I loved the characters and the setting of this book. I have read the other two books in the series but you don’t have to read them to understand what is going on in this book. If you love historical romance books than don’t miss this book.

Fuzzy Logic by Susan C Daffron

Fuzzy Logic by Susan C Daffron was a fun book to read. This was a nice change of pace for me and I am now going to go back and check out the first book in the series because the author does such a good job writing. These books aren’t typically my favorite types of books but I really did enjoy this one and I loved that she made the dogs in the book seem like they were characters themselves. If you love cute stories with animals & people than I know you will love this book!

Slave Again by Alana Terry

Slave Again by Alana Terry was an amazing book. I read her first book and if you haven’t read that review click here to check it out so this book was one I had high hopes for. It did live up to those hopes and even surpass them. This book at times was hard for me to read because of what the poor women & children have to go through. Her books also have opened my eyes to what really goes on over there and it breaks my heart because things like this shouldn’t still be happening in our world.

Anyway let’s get on to the review of this book. Like I said this book was amazing and it lived up to everything that I thought it would. There are parts of this book that broke my heart and were hard to read but none of it made me want to stop reading. This book did have a rough start for me but that isn’t because nothing happened. A lot happened right at the start but I think the subject made it hard for me to read right in the start but once I was a few chapters in I didn’t want to put the book down. I have to say that there are twists in the book and some of them I saw coming and others I didn’t which always makes for a good read. I do wonder what happened to some of the characters in the end but all in all I loved this book and it is one that I am going to keep in my collection.

The Mason Jar by James Russell Lingerfelt was a sweet book. This is a book that I wasn’t sure how I was going to like it but I have to say it was a sweet story. This one was different for me to read because it is basically told from the male point of view and that is a nice change from the books I usually read. This author has an amazing way of writing. I can’t put my finger on what I loved so much about it but I didn’t want to put the book down and I was sad when it was over. There are very few books that I would read over again and this is one of them. If you are looking for a sweet story make sure you check this one out.

Where Treetops Glisten was an amazing book. This book was the best of two types of books that I love to read. It takes place during WWII & it is also is a collection of 3 short stories written by 3 different authors. It also helps that I love all three of the authors in this book so reading it was great. I am not going to get into the stories but this such a sweet book and perfect for the holiday season. This book will leave you smiling and wanting more. I do wish that the stories would have been a whole book because I did love each of them and wanted to read more about them. If you are looking for a heart warming story to read during the holidays than this is the book for you!
