Breaking Wild by Diane Les Becquets

Winter Book Review

Breaking Wild by Diane Les Becquets was a good book to read.  I did get lost, but that is because I have been so busy that even when I sat down to read my head isn’t 100% in the book.  This is one of the few books that I know I will go back and read again once things have slowed down at work and I can take the time to really focus on what is going on in the book.  I really enjoyed this authors style of writing and the premise of the book.  I live in a state where people hunt and things like that and even though I don’t do any of those things I felt like I could relate a little bit to book.  If you love books that have suspense than I know you will enjoy this one just like I did.

Breaking Wild

About The Book

In captivating prose, Diane Les Becquets tells the story of one woman missing in the Colorado wilderness and another bent on discovering the missing woman’s whereabouts, in an unforgettably moving and thrilling literary debut.

It is the last weekend of the season for Amy Raye Latour to get away. Driven to spend days alone in the wilderness, Amy Raye, mother of two, is compelled by the quiet and the rush of nature. But this time, her venture into a remote area presents a different set of dangers than Amy Raye has planned for and she finds herself on the verge of the precarious edge that she’s flirted with her entire life.

When Amy Raye doesn’t return to camp, ranger Pru Hathaway and her dog respond to the missing person’s call. After an unexpected snowfall and few leads, the operation turns into a search and recovery. Pru, though, is not resigned to that. The more she learns about the woman for whom she is searching, and about Amy Raye’s past, the more she suspects that Amy Raye might yet be alive. Pru’s own search becomes an obsession for a woman whose life is just as mysterious as the clues she has left behind.

As the novel follows Amy Raye and Pru in alternating threads, Breaking Wild assumes the white-knuckled pace of a thriller laying bare Amy Raye’s ultimate reckoning with the secrets of her life, and Pru’s dogged pursuit of the woman who, against all odds, she believes she can find.

A Moment of Weakness by Karen Kingsbury

FTC: I received a free copy of this book from in exchange for my honest review. I received no other compensation and the opinions expressed in this review are one hundred percent true and my own.

Fall Book Review Graphic

A Moment of Weakness by Karen Kingsbury was a book that at first I didn’t like but by the end I loved the book and the characters.  This is the second  book I have read by this author and I have fallen even more in love with this author than I was before.  I wasn’t a huge fan of Jade and Tanner’s parents throughout the entire book.  I know it is because of  how they acted towards each other and if I am being honest small town crap just bugs me.  I really did like Jade and Tanner though so that made reading the book not so  bad.  This is the second book in the series but you don’t have to read the books in order so if you just want to read this one you won’t be lost.  This book was a super easy read and one that I was able to read in a couple of days so you don’t have to commit tons of time to read this one.  If you love chick lit I know you will love this book as much as I did.

Butterfly Dreams by A. Meredith Walters

Fall Book Review Graphic

Butterfly Dreams by A. Meredith Walters was a fun book to read.  Corin made me smile throughout most of the book because I know people like her in real life and I can’t help but smile.  I also loved Beckett from the start as well because lets be honest he seemed like someone that I would love to meet and date in real life.  I really enjoyed how light hearted this book was and how easy it was read.  I am usually not a huge fan of books like this but it was a great book to throw in middle of some of the books that I have been reading lately that have been more intense lately.  I you easy to read chick lit books than I know you will love this book.

Merry Mary by Ashley Farley

Fall Book Review Graphic

Merry Mary by Ashley Farley was a super sweet story.  This is a short book and I loved that about it.  Some books that are short feel rushed and I wish that the book was longer.  I loved that this one was just the right size and it didn’t feel like anything was left out or that the story was rushed because the author was trying to keep the  book short.  I spent the entire time hoping that Scottie didn’t get arrested and sent to jail because she took the baby when she found the mother dead.  This was an amazing Christmas story and one that made me remember the reason for the season.  If you love amazing Christmas stories than I know you won’t want to miss this book.

Written On Her Heart by Paige Rion

Book Review

Written On Her Heart by Paige Rion was a fun book to read.  There are parts of this book that I didn’t  enjoy but that is because I tend to get bored when you have love triangles going on.  I have to say that I didn’t like Peter from the first time you meet him right up until the end.  All the drama in this book kept me wanting to read but it also at times got old and I found myself just skimming the pages until the drama past.  I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.  If you love new adult novels than I am sure you will love this one.  If you have read it what do you think of it?
