Swept Away by Laura V Hilton and Cindy Loven

Book Review

Swept Away by Laura V Hilton and Cindy Loven was another great book in the series.  When I first started this book I didn’t like any of the characters but Sara Jane’s Grandma.  After a few chapters in I really did love the characters.  I think after a few chapters you got to see more of the characters and you get to know more about who they are so that helped.  I didn’t like how Sara Jane in the beginning of the book acted like a stuck up brat but after a few chapters you get to see more of who she is.  I have loved all the books in this series but one so I am so glad that this one ended up being another one that I love.  If you love romance books written by Christian authors than I would recommend this one to you.  I also would recommend any book in the Quilts Of Love series because they are all so amazing.

Swept Away

About The Book

Sara doesn’t think she wants love. But her grandmother has other plans.
Sara Jane Morgan is trying to balance teaching with caring for her ailing, stubborn grandmother. When school lets out for the summer, the plans are for Grandma to teach Sara Jane to quilt as they finish up the Appalachian Ballad quilt Grandma started as a teenager. But things don’t always go as planned.
Andrew Stevenson is hiding from his past—and his future. He works as a handyman to pay the bills, but his heart is as an artisan, designing homemade brooms. When Sara Jane’s grandmother hires him to renovate her home, sparks fly between Drew and his new employer’s granddaughter.
Still, it doesn’t take Sara Jane long to see Drew isn’t what he seems. Questions arise, and she starts researching him online. What she discovers could change her life—and her heart—forever.

The Brothers’ Keeper by NLB Horton

Book ReviewThe Brothers’ Keeper by NLB Horton was a good book it just wasn’t the right fit for me.  This is the second book in the series and  I have to say that I would recommend reading the first one before this.  Because I haven’t read the first book I found that I was super confused and kept getting lost as to what was going on in the book.  I am going to read the first book and then re-read this book and see how I feel about it after I know more of the back story.

The Brothers' KeepersAbout The Book

The Brothers’ Keepers | RidgeRoute Press (November 2015)

A friend’s deception. A family’s dilemma.

While cataloging looted antiquities in Brussels, archaeologist Grace Madison learns that her daughter has disappeared in France, and daughter-in-law has been attacked in Switzerland. But before the Madisons can save themselves, they must rescue an old friend—if he’ll let them. Navigating a deadly, four-thousand-year-old artifact trail that crosses three continents, they jeopardize hearts and lives against a foe as old as time—as time runs out.

Because choosing what’s right is all that’s left.

Her first novel, When Camels Fly, was released in May, 2014.The Brothers’ Keepers her second in the Parched series, will be released November 17, 2014. The third in the series will release in the fall of 2015.

Destiny Defied by J.A. Mark

Book ReviewDestiny Defied by J.A. Mark was an okay book to read.  I had high hopes for this book because from reading the back of the book it sounded like something that was right up my alley.  I did enjoy the characters and the setting of the book but that is about all I liked about this book.  I found that I got lost and confused trying to keep up with who was speaking.  Parts of the book also didn’t flow as well as others.  Like I said I usually love these types of books but that just wasn’t the book for me.  I would still recommend it because I know others will love this book it just wasn’t right for me.

Destiny DefiedAbout The Book

Destiny Defied | Book One in The Destiny series.

A dramatic shipwreck emancipates Riki Hammad, but the island where she finds refuge is compromised. Unless she finds a power truly great enough to defeat her dark past, she will choose death over returning to captivity. Lord Vétis, high priest of a cultic underground, will stop at nothing to reclaim their chosen one. Using black magic, he manipulates Riki and her four self-assigned bodyguards, triggering a battle that consumes the entire island. The underground will never allow Riki to live out her dreams of a normal life . . . something she has never known.

The Promise by Beth Wiseman

Book ReviewThe Promise by Beth Wiseman was a good book but there were things I didn’t like and I will get into those at the end of this review.  I love this authors writing and how she makes me understand why they make the choices that they do.  That being said the only reason I had a problem with this book is because I thought Mallory was a total idiot.  I liked this book but I found myself getting pissed at her because of some of her choices.  If you can look past her choices than I know you will love this  book.  I did enjoy it I just didn’t enjoy her character and her actions is all.

The PromiseAbout The Book

Mallory’s search for happiness leads her to a faraway place. There she finds heartache, betrayal—and danger.

Mallory Hammond is determined that no one will stand in the way of her goal—to save a life. She had that chance years ago, and she failed to take it, leaving her adrift and in search of the real meaning of her life. Finally, she meets a man online from a volatile corner of the world who offers her the chance to find that purpose. But she will have to leave everyone she loves behind in order to take it.

Tate Webber has loved Mallory for many years. He understands that Mallory will never be happy with him until her deepest heart’s desire is satisfied. When Mallory decides to travel across the world to fulfill her dreams, Tate begs her not to go but tries to give her the space she needs. Mallory embarks on her dangerous journey only to discover how swiftly and easily promises can be broken. And Mallory can only pray that she will make it out alive.

Inspired by actual events, The Promise is a riveting love story that asks the question: how far will we go for love?

Quilted by Christmas by Jodie Bailey

Book ReviewQuilted by Christmas by Jodie Bailey was such a sweet story.  I really enjoyed this story just like I have with others in this series.  I did find parts of this book predictable but I think that just comes from reading so many books that it is hard to shock me.  Even with that being said I really did enjoy this book.  I loved the characters and the authors style of writing.  I can’t wait to check out more books by this author because she writes amazingly.

Her goal, as a young teacher in the hills of North Carolina, is to leave a legacy in the lives of the middle-schoolers she teaches.

When Taryn’s grandmother Jemma, the only other person who ever held her close, has a heart attack that reveals a fatal medical condition, Taryn is corralled into helping Grandma work on a final project—an Irish chain quilt that tells the story of her history and the love Jemma knows is out there for Taryn. As the pieces of the quilt come together, Taryn begins to see her value. Can she learn to believe that God will never leave her behind even though others have?
