The Vampire Next Door by J.T. Hunter was a great read. It did creep me out from time to time which I always enjoy because it means that I am really getting into the book and story. I can say that this book left me feeling sad and broken for everyone who didn’t get answers and never will get answers as to what happened to their loved ones. This author included things that were happening in the world at the same time and I loved that because it makes the timeline easier to follow because I was able to put it in order with other events that happened at that time. It makes me sick to think of everything that Crutchley got away with. I also had to laugh at how they managed to keep him in jail when he was getting ready to be released on parole. There were several times that I just shook my head because some of the things that people did left me wondering what in the hell were they thinking. This author is becoming one of my favorites in the true crime genre and I can’t wait to read whatever he has come out next. If you love true crime I know will love this author and this book.

While he stalked the streets hunting his unsuspecting victims, the residents of a quiet Florida town slept soundly, oblivious to the dark creature in their midst, unaware of the vampire next door.
John Crutchley seemed to be living the American Dream. Good-looking and blessed with a genius level IQ, he had a prestigious, white-collar job at a prominent government defense contractor, where he held top secret security clearance and handled projects for NASA and the Pentagon. To all outward appearances, he was a hard-working, successful family man with a lavish new house, a devoted wife, and a healthy young son.
But he concealed a hidden side of his personality, a dark secret tied to a hunger for blood and the overriding need to kill. As one of the most prolific serial killers in American history, Crutchley committed at least twelve murders, and possibly nearly three dozen. His IQ eclipsed that of Ted Bundy, and his body count may have as well.
J.T. Hunter is an attorney with over fourteen years of experience practicing law, including criminal law and appeals, and he has significant training in criminal investigation techniques. He is also a college professor in Florida where his teaching interests focus on the intersection of criminal psychology, law, and literature.

Auburn Ride by David Stever was a great story but it did take me a few chapters to get used to the narrator’s voice. Once I got used to his voice I was able to get through this whole book in a couple of days. I really did love this author’s writing and the story. At times I did get annoyed with the main character in this book because of how he acted. I also couldn’t stand Claire because right from the start I knew she was up to something. I spent the whole book hoping that Johnny would come to his senses and realize that Claire was playing with him. I did enjoy the plot to this book even though I was able to figure out what was going to happen before it did happen. Even saying that I did enjoy this book and I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series. I will have a review of the next book up next week so if you are interested in what I think about that book make sure you come back next week.

Welcome to Port City!
Private investigator Johnny Delarosa has seen it all. First as a cop, and now as a private eye. Cheating spouses, embezzlements, and insurance scams are routine. But he meets his match when the alluring, auburn-haired Claire Dixon walks into his bar/office and drops a $20,000 retainer in his lap. She wants the hard-drinking Johnny to find $2 million that was stolen from her mobster family 30 years earlier. But $2 million can be motivating. Old mobsters come out of witness protection to claim their share, and when bodies begin to pile up, and his sexy, enigmatic client disappears, Johnny is taken on the ride of his life; an Auburn Ride. With a wink and a nod to the hard-boiled private eyes of the pulp noir past, the gritty streets of Port City set the stage for author David Stever’s first thriller in the Delarosa series.

Bill Lord has been an entertainer since 1983 when he began a nearly 20-year career as a professional wiseguy on rock and pop radio. After radio, his love of storytelling drew him into the world of acting and audiobook narration. It was a transition that began his exploration of connecting with an author’s truth on a deeply emotional level, while bringing each of their character’s reality to life with an authentic voice.
When Bill narrates a story, he transforms the written word into a multidimensional aural experience that makes you lose all sense of time and what is going on around you. He transports the listener to faraway realms or perhaps across the galaxy, until the world around you is supplanted by the flickering movie screen of your own imagination.
In addition to reading books for major publishers, and indie authors and publishers, Bill is a former coach of Edge Studio’s Investigate Voiceover classes in Washington, D.C., and an occasional cast member with The Lake of the Woods Players. When he’s not on stage or in the booth narrating, you can find cruising the lake on his pontoon boat (in Orange County, VA) while enjoying a Manhattan with his beautiful wife, Joya.
Bill Lord is an Audible Approved Producer. Visit Nothing Rhymes with Orange Studio’s website for more information.

Secrets & Lies by Andrew Cunningham this book made so many things make sense to me in this series. You don’t need to listen to all of the books in order to understand this book but if you are interested in the whole series then I would listen to them in order so that the other books don’t ruin any of the books. This is the fourth book in this series and if you want to see my thoughts on the other books you can click here, here and here. Now I did enjoy this book but I am also annoyed that if they were all real people the would have all died a couple of times but they are all still alive. I do have to say that I think this book might be my favorite book in this series so far. This had a pretty unique plot and that is part of the reason that I enjoyed this book. I also loved that you get more background information on some of the characters. Since this is the third book in the series I almost look at these characters as if they are friends so I really enjoyed getting to know some of the backstories for a few more of the characters. If you are looking for a fun new series to check out I would for sure give this series a chance.

I’m the author of novels in several genres, including, mystery, thriller, and post-apocalyptic science fiction. Under the name A.R. Cunningham, I’ve also written the Arthur MacArthur series of mysteries for children.
I was born in England, but have spent most of my life living in the U.S.—including 25 years on Cape Cod before moving to Florida. A former interpreter for the deaf and long-time independent bookseller, I’ve been a full-time freelance writer and copy editor for many years. A 4th-degree Master Black belt in Tang Soo Do, I finally retired from active training when my body said, “Enough already! Why are you doing this to yourself?” I’m married, with two grown children and two awesome grandsons. My wife and I spend as much time traveling as we can, and are especially fond of cruising the Caribbean.
I have been gratified by the response to my books. When I published Eden Rising back in the spring of 2013, I had no idea what to expect. When I sold my first few copies, I was excited beyond belief that someone was willing to take a chance on it. Numerous books and thousands of copies later, I am still humbled by the emails I get from readers telling me that my books kept them up late into the night.
In October of 2014, Wisdom Spring made me an official Amazon Bestselling author, a thrill I never thought would happen. But it still comes down to being able to bring a few hours of escape to a reader. That’s what it’s all about for me.
I hope you will try my books. Please feel free to email me with your comments.

Narrating audiobooks is highly gratifying. I immerse myself into an author’s story in order to bring it to life for the listener. I’ve enjoyed working with Andrew Cunningham for several years. His books are filled with rich characters, and the stories keep me turning the pages.
I also work as a background actor in movies and TV shows.
For more than 20 years, I worked as a radio news reporter and news writer. I spent half of my broadcasting career at ABC News Radio in the Washington, D.C., bureau. I covered all the federal agencies as well as Congress and the White House. I reported on a wide range of stories during my career, including financial and entertainment industry news.
For nearly 24 years, I worked as a federal government spokesman at three separate agencies—National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), U.S. Mint and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).
