Dying Brand by Wendy Tyson

dying brand button

Dying Brand by Wendy Tyson was a book I wasn’t sure I was going to like but I ended up reading it in one afternoon and loving everything about it.  I have read one other book by this author but to be honest I don’t really remember that book.  This is the third book in the series but you don’t have to read the other books to understand this one but some of the smaller plot lines might be easier understood if you had read the other two books before this one but you don’t have to read them first.  Anyway let’s get on to the review of this book.  As I said before I loved this book but there were spots that could have been cut out because they just slowed the story down but all in all I loved the story.  I was a huge fan of the characters and the author writing.  She made me feel as if I was there with the characters and I could understand the choices they made even if I didn’t agree with them.  Allison at times did get on my nerves but that usually happens when the main character is female.  This book made me want to go back and read the other two books in this series.  If you love mystery books than I would for sure recommend this book to you.

Bum Rap by Paul Levine

Book Review

Bum Rap by Paul Levine took me back to the types of books I have loved for years and gave me a new author to add to my list.  I loved the author’s writing and the setting of this book.  I loved all the characters and their backstories as well.  This is the first book I have read by this author but I am so glad that I found him because I can’t wait to check out other book that he has written.  Steve wasn’t my favorite character because of how he acted.  I loved Jake & Victoria from the start of the book.  I loved the setting and I didn’t want to put the book down because it hooked me.  This is the genre that I love so I had high expectations for this book and this book lived up to all of them and surpassed most of them.  If you love thrillers than I would for sure recommend this book to you.

Bum Rap by Paul Levine

About The Book

Publisher: Thomas & Mercer (July 1, 2015)

NFL linebacker-turned-lawyer Jake Lassiter has had it with shifty clients, dirty prosecutors, and a legal system out of whack. It’s enough to make a man want to leave Miami and never look back—until he gets a call from Victoria Lord, the better half of hot local legal team Solomon & Lord. Her partner in life and law has been arrested for murder. What’s worse: the only person who can clear him has fled the city. Now it’s up to Jake and Victoria to track down the witness—a stunning “Bar girl”—before she’s roped in by the feds…or eliminated by the Russian mob.

Jake knows that if he doesn’t get to the witness first, his client’s case is lost. Luckily, he’s got some good advice from his college football coach: “Buckle your chin strap and hit somebody.” And sometimes, the only way to win a tough case is to do just that.

Fatal Trauma by Richard L. Mabry, M.D.

Book Review

Fatal Trauma by Richard L. Mabry, M.D. was an amazing book.  This  book brings the two things I love most in life in a book.  I have read two other books by this author and I have loved them just as much as I loved this one.  I have to say that I wasn’t a huge fan of Kelly at first and to be honest I am not sure why.  I liked Mark from the start which is crazy to me because usually I don’t like characters like Mark right at the start and I usually love characters like Kelly.  By the end of the book I did love both of them but it did take time for me to grow to love Kelly.  Parts of this book I did see coming and figure a few things out before they happened but not much so that is always a good thing with these kinds of books for me.  If you love medical thrillers than I know you will love this  book and any of the others books by this author.

About The Book

Fatal Trauma (Abingdon Press, May 2015)

A gunman who has nothing to lose faces a doctor who could lose it all to prove his innocence.

When Dr. Mark Baker and Nurse Kelly Atkinson are held at the mercy of a dangerous gunman, the lives of every emergency room patient are at stake. At the end of the evening three men are dead. One of them is a police officer who couldn’t be saved despite Mark’s best efforts. The other two are members of the feared Zeta drug cartel.

Though the standoff is over, the killing is not, because when the drug cartel loses its members, revenge is not far behind. Facing an adversary whose desires are dark and efforts are ruthless, Mark finds himself under suspicion as a killer, yet still a potential victim. When he turns to his high school sweetheart, attorney Gwen Woodruff, for help, Kelly helplessly looks on, as she hides her own feelings for the good doctor.

Hunter by Sally Ann Melia Part 2

Book Review

Hunter by Sally Ann Melia Part 2 was a great book.  This is the second book in the series and I did review the first one and if you missed the review you can click here to check out the review.  This is a series of books where you have to read the books in order or you won’t understand what is going on because the books go in order.  To be honest I am not a huge fan of books that you have to read in order because once I finish one I hate waiting for the next book to come out but with this series you don’t have to wait because all 3 books are already out.  This is a sci-fi book and it still makes me think of Star Trek which for me is a great thing.  I already have the third book in the series to read and because of how this one ended I have to read it because I hate waiting to know what is going to happen next.

L.A. Rotten: A Tom Tanner Mystery by Jeff Klima

TLC Book Tours

L.A. Rotten:  A Tom Tanner Mystery by Jeff Klima was a great book.  I loved this book because it is a return to the genre of books that I love the most.  I don’t usually read tons of books like this and it is so nice to get to read ones like this and find new authors.  Anyway back to this book.  I enjoyed everything about this  book so much so that I was sad when it ended because I loved the author’s style of writing and I also loved the characters in this book.  I had to keep reading right up until the end because I had to know how it ended and how things worked out.  I have to say that I really liked Tom from the start of the book and I hope that there will be more books with him in them because I loved him as the main character in this book.  It is fast past and it kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the book.  If you love mystery books than I know you will love this story.

For fans of Dexter and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Jeff Klima’s debut thriller is a chillingly suspenseful novel set in a world of violence and chaos—where one man finds himself right at home.

For a handsome young ex-con determined to stay out of trouble, it’s practically a dream job—until he discovers a grisly pattern to his work: a string of gruesome murders at a cheap motel chain, always in Room 236.

While prying into a serial killer’s nasty scheme, Thomas finds himself with a sharp-witted strip-bar waitress plastered to his side—and his conscience. Even more surprising, the killer starts prying into his life, luring Thomas into a twisted friendship. Twisted Innocence by Terri Blackstock

Book Review

Twisted Innocence by Terri Blackstock was a great book.  This is the third book in this series and I loved it to say the least.  Just because it is the 3rd book you don’t have to read the first 2 in order to understand this book.  I have never read the first book and I have been able to figure out what is going on and fall in love with the books.  I love all the twists and turns that this series takes and how it kept me wondering what was going to happen.  If you love mysteries than this is the book for you.

Twisted Innocence
