Her Second Chance Cowboy by Makenna Lee was a sweet story. It is your typical love story, which I love reading from time to time. I have other books by this author, and I know that I will keep reading books by her because I don’t think I have read a book by her that I haven’t liked. I really enjoyed the characters in this book and I was sad to see them go when I finished reading the book. This book was a great way to distract me from everything that is happening in the world. I was able to read through this book in just a couple of sittings, and for the first time in a while, I wished that the book had been longer because I was sad when It was over. Like many other books in this genre I was able to figure out what was going to happen before it happens but with this author that doesn’t bother me. If you love contemporary fiction novels, I would pick up and this book or any book by this author because I know you will enjoy anything that she has written.
Title: HER SECOND CHANCE COWBOY

When she runs into an old flame, she decides she can live out a fantasy, then leave town to pursue her dreams. But love doesn’t play by the rules…
Makenna Lee is an award-winning romance author living in the Texas Hill Country with her real-life hero and their two children. Her oldest son has Down syndrome and taught her to appreciate the little things, and he inspired one of her novels. As a child, she played in the woods, looked for fairies under toadstools, and daydreamed. Her writing journey began when she mentioned all her story ideas, and her husband asked why she wasn’t writing them down. The next day she bought a laptop, started her first book, and knew she’d found her passion. Makenna is often drinking coffee while writing, reading, or plotting a new story. Her wish is to write books that touch your heart, making you feel, think, and dream. She enjoys renaissance festivals, nature photography, studying herbal medicine, and usually listens to Celtic music while writing. She writes for Entangled Publishing and Harlequin and believes everyone deserves a happy ending.

She opened the driver’s side door, then turned to tell him good night. “Thanks for dinner.” Was that her voice sounding all breathy and wanton?
“You’re welcome. If you come out first thing in the morning, we can get an early start and go for a ride. And work on my great-great-grandfather’s mystery.”
“I like that idea.” Get in, Reese. Drive away. Instead, she brushed a leaf from his shoulder.
His full lips lowered to the corner of her mouth. The caress was gentle. Brief.
The simple, innocent kiss hit a switch inside her. One that hadn’t been tripped since their last kiss, over eleven years ago. One that other men had not managed to tap into. Her entire body warmed, sparking a shiver and a desire to stay, but she needed tonight to gather herself.
This was her chance to stay in the cottage and convince him she could take care of it. Not the start of a summer romance.
But could she manage a temporary romantic reunion?

The Feast by David Vorhees was a good book. I enjoyed all of the stories in this book, but some stories aren’t for everyone. If you aren’t into gore and horror stories, then I wouldn’t pick this one up, but if that kind of stuff doesn’t bother you, then I am sure you will enjoy this book as much I did. I couldn’t bring myself to listen to these books at night, but I wish I would have. I loved how some of these stories were super short, and others were a little longer. I enjoyed the variety of different stories included, so I didn’t get bored with just type of account. I also really enjoyed the narrator of this book. He was able to change his voice enough that I never got confused about who was talking during the stories. I don’t know that I could pick a favorite story because I enjoyed all of them. I also loved that all of the stories in this book had to do with holidays because that gave it something different. I also listen to the entire book in one afternoon because I had to know how all stories ended. I did find that I was able to guess how some of the stories were going to end. I wasn’t able to figure them all out, and the ones that I couldn’t figure out turned out to be my favorite ones. If you love horror books, I recommend listening to this book in the dark because I know you will love it.

Sara
I’m known around 425 Madison, and to my friends, as Crazy Sara. While they never use the nickname to my face, I know my reputation precedes me. That’s just fine with me, after all I’ve got everything I ever wanted. I have an apartment in the swankiest building in NYC, a different date every night, and the future is mine for the taking.
Okay so maybe only one thing is missing – the perfect roommate to keep me company.
Unfortunately, the roommate who wants me is not what I had in mind. And my best friend gave me one rule: Don’t sleep with her brother.
Zack
With an art degree in hand it only makes sense for me to move to NYC. Both of my sisters live here and my new niece. New York has an endless supply of muses for my art and models to entertain.
Things were just fine in my new life, until my sister gets tired of me crashing in her guest room and decides I’ll be the perfect roommate for her friend Crazy Sara. I’m on board with a change of scenery as long as the scenery is my sister’s gorgeous friend. But turns our Crazy Sara isn’t really as crazy as they all claim and she’s not really interested in me – or at least that’s what she claims.
That’s fine, two can play this game.
After all, 425 Madison is the perfect place to fall in love!

Snippet #2
The cold night air nipped at my skin, the temperature falling as we inched closer to the holidays. Stephen had tried once more to convince me to
stay home but I owed my mother—and myself—some answers. An army of silk dresses and black tuxedoes made their way up the two-prong staircase of the Stanford mansion. Earlier, Stephen had told me that Leland Stanford built the mansion in Sacramento years before he built the university in Palo Alto. I’d almost told Stephen that I had no memory of Leland, only his wife, Jane—an impossible idea. The Stanfords were buried a century before my birth.

Vivi
For the first time in my life, I’m with the family I choose.
Living with my cousin, who happens to be a newlywed, is the best thing ever.
There is one pesky downside, and his name is Lucas Clark.
He’s a spoiled rich boy who was put on this Earth to torture me.
He thinks he can intimidate me, keep me in my place, but I have news for him. No way is he man enough.
And it’s annoying. Like, why do his eyes follow me everywhere? Why do I lose all self-control, seeking him out whenever we share the same space?
I should be running in the opposite direction, right?
His words are harsh, hostile. Until one night, the hostility is replaced by a kiss that almost set us on fire.
Luke
She’s a tiny ball of energy. Every bitter and combative word out of her mouth is aimed at me.
My family thinks I walk on water, so I could use any excuse to stay away from her.
She’s nothing more than a man-hating shrew wrapped up in a beautiful package.
Those dark eyes of hers? I see them everywhere.
Her red lips? They beg to be kissed.
And one night, I do. I finally get a taste, but it’s not enough. I want more.
She says she hates me.
I’m used to getting what I want, and what I want is to prove to Vivi that hate is the last thing on her mind when it comes to me.
