Her Second Chance Cowboy by Makenna Lee ‌was a sweet story. ‌ ‌ It is your typical love story, which I love reading from time to time.  I have other books by this author, and I know that I will keep reading books by her because I don’t think I have read a book by her that I haven’t liked.  I really enjoyed the characters in this book and I was sad to see them go when I finished reading the book.  This book was a great way to distract me from everything that is happening in the world.  I was able to read through this book in just a couple of sittings, and for the first time in a while, I wished that the book had been longer because I was sad when It was over.  Like many other books in this genre I was able to figure out what was going to happen before it happens but with this author that doesn’t bother me.  If you love contemporary fiction novels, I would pick up and this book or any book by this author because I know you will enjoy anything that she has written.

Read An Excerpt

She opened the driver’s side door, then turned to tell him good night. “Thanks for dinner.” Was that her voice sounding all breathy and wanton?

“You’re welcome. If you come out first thing in the morning, we can get an early start and go for a ride. And work on my great-great-grandfather’s mystery.”

“I like that idea.” Get in, Reese. Drive away. Instead, she brushed a leaf from his shoulder.

His full lips lowered to the corner of her mouth. The caress was gentle. Brief.

The simple, innocent kiss hit a switch inside her. One that hadn’t been tripped since their last kiss, over eleven years ago. One that other men had not managed to tap into. Her entire body warmed, sparking a shiver and a desire to stay, but she needed tonight to gather herself.

This was her chance to stay in the cottage and convince him she could take care of it. Not the start of a summer romance.

But could she manage a temporary romantic reunion?
