Tips on Placing Your Child in Adoption
Adoption is never an easy decision – whether you’re the one placing a child in adoption or the one adopting. It’s a very emotional and personal experience, and one that requires intense thought and consideration. If you are ever in the position where you want or need to place your childin adoption, it’s safe to say you’re probably dealing with some very heavy emotions and in need of support, even if you know you’re doing the right thing and are happy to be doing so.
1. Find Support
This can be done in the form of a support group, connecting with others who have been through the adoption process themselves, joining online forums, talking with a close friend or family member – anything that allows you to lean on someone during the highs and lows of the process. This is a life-changing experience and you need to make sure that you have all of your feelings sorted out as you navigate your way through the process.
2. Do Your Homework
Spend time researching the different adoption agencies and make sure to find one that you feel fits you the best. This is a very personal decision and experience and you want to be sure that everyone is on the same page and that you feel that the people helping you find a new home for your child are doing their best to find a loving home for him/her.
3. Decide What Type of Relationship You Want to Have
Spend some time figuring out if you want to have an open, semi-open, or closed adoption. You will need to spend some time asking yourself some very serious questions: when you place the child in adoption, do you want that to be it or do you want to have some form of contact with them throughout the years?
4. Figure Out What You Want for Your Child
Some agencies will let you pick the adopting parents while others will only let you give you opinion on what kind of family your child is adopted into. Figure out what kind of family you want your child raised in – is there a specific religion, do you want your child to be raised in a two-parent home, etc. Even if you aren’t able to pick the specific family that adopts your child, it’s still important to voice your opinion (if you have one) so that the agency can take that into consideration.
5. Realize What You’re Doing
You are giving your child the opportunity to have a life that you are unable to provide – as hard as placing your child in adoption may be, realize that you’re not giving them up, but giving them life.
The process of placing a child in adoption can be a long and painful one, but in the end also a rewarding one. You are providing for your child in a way that allows them to have a life they wouldn’t otherwise have, and that is something to be celebrated.

This week for the writers workshop I am going to write about 2.) Create an FAQ page for yourself that answers frequently asked questions…you know…if people were to frequently ask you questions. People make those up all the time. YOUR TURN! I chose this one because it will be something fun to have on my blog!
*Why did you start blogging? I started blogging because a few friends of mine had a blog and it looked like fun. Now that being said it has only been in the last couple of years that I have really gotten into blogging and working on getting followers and things like that.
* What does MS stand for? MS stand for Multiple Sclerosis.
*What does MS do? The simplest way to describe what MS does is to say that my immune system attacks my nerves that are in my brain and spinal cord.
*When were you diagnosed? I was diagnosed when I was 15 or 16. I was pretty young. Most people don’t get diagnosed until they are in there 20’s to 30’s.
* What MS treatments have you tried and what treatment are you on now? Lets see I have tried Avonex, Betaseron, and Copaxone. I am currently on Tysabri and I am so glad that it works for me and if allowing me to live the life of a somewhat normal 26 year old.
*How old were you when you placed your daughter for adoption? I was 20.
If anyone has any questions they want answered let me know! I am going to turn this post into a page so that it will always be able to get to on my menu bar!

This is first information if from the website that sent me the book.
A brutal murder.
An unraveling conviction.
To catch the killer, Roland March must decipher the
PATTERN OF WOUNDS
It’s Christmas in Houston, and homicide detective Roland March is on the hunt for a killer. A young woman’s brutal stabbing in an affluent neighborhood bears all the hallmarks of a serial murder. The only problem is that March sent the murderer to prison ten years ago. Is it a copycat–or did March convict the wrong man?
Alienated from his colleagues and with a growing rift in his marriage, March receives a series of taunting messages from the killer. The bodies pile up, the pressure builds, and the violence reaches too close to home. Up against an unfathomable evil, March struggles against the clock to understand the hidden message in the pattern of wounds.
My Review
When I received the book I was excited because it is the type of book that I love to read. I love the thrill type books. This book is well written but I personally couldn’t get into the characters. It is an easily followed story and a mystery thriller but there are just books that I can’t seem to get into and this was one of them. I don’t have much to say because I had a hard time getting through the book.

As any college student knows other than tuition the books are the most expensive part of going to school. I can remember when I was in college spending around $400 for book. I really wish I would have know about CampusBookRentals.com when I was in school. They rent textbooks for cheaper than what it would cost to buy them. After you are done with the class you just mail them the books back and rent what you need for the next semester. If you decide you want to keep the book you just pay the difference.
What makes this even a better company is that they have partnered with Operation Smile. For those that haven’t heard of Operation Smile before they perform surgeries on children who are born with cleft. They are known as an international charity for children. They have been in existence 1982. Children that are born with a cleft life or cleft palate can be sunned because the look different than other children. Also most of the time the child’s parents can’t afford to have the surgeries done to fix them.
CampusBookRentals.com is going to donate a portion of the money that you pay to rent books from them to Operation Smile! Not only will get books for a cheaper price you will also be helping out children all over the world.
If you are a college student please at least look into renting your books and help raise money for this great charity.
Disclosure: I was not paid to write this review. All opinions are my own.
