Hooker Avenue by Jodé Millman

Hooker Avenue by Jodé Millman was a great read.  This is the second book in the “Queen City Crimes” series, and this is the first one I have read.  I wasn’t confused at all as I was reading this book, but I would recommend reading them in order if the first book interests you.  The author did a great job of giving you just what you need to know in this book without spending a ton of time giving you details that you don’t need to understand this book.  This book had just the right amount of suspense that kept me guessing but not so much that I got stressed out.  There is a fine line between having too much tension and not having enough, and this author did a great job of giving just enough to keep me reading.  I also loved that the author let crimes that happen in our world inspire this series because it makes the book more believable than other books I have read.  I can’t write enough praise for this book.  I enjoyed it so much that I can’t think of anything I would change.  This is one of those books I know I will go back and read the first book because I liked this book that much.  I also will be reading any other books in this series that the author releases because I love the characters.  If you are looking for a new series to read this summer, I would recommend this series to you.

Fall Out by M.N. Grenside

Fall Out by M.N. Grenside was an exciting read.  I think that this book had just the right amount of suspense in it.  This is one of those books that makes me stay up way too late because I didn’t want to put the book down.   One thing that this book did well was to keep me guessing what would happen next.  The author did a great job of making me understand why the characters made the choices they did.  He also did a great job making me feel like I was there with the characters.  Even though I don’t know anything about making movies, this author was able to help me understand how it works.  You can tell that this author has a lot of practice with storytelling.  This is the first book I have read by this author, and I know I will read more books by him in the future.  I think most people would enjoy this book and recommend it to anyone.

About The Author

Mark Grenside, born and raised in London, began his working career straight out of school at Lloyds of London, specializing in Kidnap, Ransom and Extortion Insurance. At 25 it was time for a career change and to dump the suit and tie, so he started his media career working for Jim Henson and The Muppets©. From that moment on he has been involved in Entertainment and nearly every aspect of it.

He went on to create and produce several television series and mini-series. At the same time, he started a music management company launching million seller artist Neneh Cherry.

In 2004 he arranged the US $250 million buy-out of the Hallmark Channel International which was then successfully sold to NBC. He returned to producing a number of movies and mini-series.

He has recently morphed into a serial entrepreneur and is now a co-founder of seed to shelf CBD producer Dragonfly Biosciences (www.dragonflybiosciences.com) and a founder in two separate digital companies.

In addition to his love of cooking, an unhealthy amount of time and money is lavished on a collection of classic cars that he has raced all over the world.
