About The Author

Daniel M. Annechino, a former book editor specializing in full-length fiction, wrote his first book, How to Buy the Most Car for the Least Money, in 1992 while working as a General Manager in the automobile business. But his passion had always been fiction, particularly thrillers. He spent two years researching serial killers before finally penning his gripping and memorable debut novel They Never Die Quietly.

​His second book, Resuscitation (Thomas & Mercer 2011), a follow-up to his first novel, hit #1 in Kindle sales in the UK and reached #26 in the USA. He is also the author of I Do Solemnly Swear (Thomas & Mercer 2012) and Hypocrisy. A Piece of You is his fifth novel, the third in the Detective Sami Rizzo series. A native of New York, Annechino now lives in San Diego with his wife, Jennifer. He loves to cook, enjoys a glass of vintage wine, and spends lots of leisure time on the warm beaches of Southern California.

The Migrant Report by Mohanalakshmi Rajakumar was a very interesting book.   I loved this book because it takes place in another part of the world and has to do with a culture I don’t know much about so I was intrigued by this story.  I love how the author talks about issues and things that are taking place in the middle east so that people who don’t know what is going on can have a sense of some of the things that are going on.  I loved everything about this book and I love the author’s writing as well.  This is an author who I know I will be reading more books by her because she is an amazing author.  If you love to read books that teach things than I know you will love this book as much as I did.

About The Author

Mohanalakshmi Rajakumar is a South Asian American who has lived in Qatar since 2005. Moving to the Arabian Desert was fortuitous in many ways since this is where she met her husband, had two sons, and became a writer. She has since published eight e-books, including a momoir for first time mothers, Mommy But Still Me; a guide for aspiring writers, So You Want to Sell a Million Copies; a short story collection, Coloured and Other Stories; and a novel about women’s friendships, Saving Peace.

Her coming of age novel, An Unlikely Goddess, won the SheWrites New Novelist competition in 2011.

Her recent books have focused on various aspects of life in Qatar. From Dunes to Dior, named as a Best Indie book in 2013, is a collection of essays related to her experiences as a female South Asian American living in the Arabian Gulf. Love Comes Later was the winner of the Best Indie Book Award for Romance in 2013 and is a literary romance set in Qatar and London. Murder On Safari by Peter Riva

Murder On Safari by Peter Riva was an amazing book to read.  This book is a thrill and I love that it takes you out of the United States and puts you into a situation that you most likely have never experienced.  I love this because you can really can imagine something like this happening which always makes books better to me.  I loved everything about this book and I loved how I felt like I understood what was going on and like I was there with the characters.  I am a huge fan of thrillers and this book didn’t let me down in least.  If you love thrillers than I know you will love this book as much as I did.  If you have read this book let me know what you think of it below.

Then Valarie handed the pipe and torch to Stu, who turned off the torch and put them down. The boys were watching Valarie, and were tripping out on the hit she had taken. Valarie held her breath for as long as she could. When she could not hold back anymore, she let the smoke out in a huge exhale. Jeff’s voice was filled with admiration as he told her, “That was one hell of a blast.” Suddenly, Valarie’s eyes went wide, and her body went absolutely stiff. A horrible sound was coming from her throat, like a constricted scream as she fell backwards. Even though this was happening in front of the two men, her fall was like she was thrown backward. They could not catch her, and she hit the floor hard.
 Jeff dropped to one knee beside her as he was starting to panic. “My God, Stu she’s overdosed. What do we do?”
Stu was on the floor next to Jeff. “Don’t panic man, don’t panic.”
 Jeff grabbed Valarie’s shoulders and shook her. Valarie’s legs were convulsing. There was drool coming from her mouth.
 Stu was screaming in her ear. “Valarie, Valarie! Do you hear me; do you hear me dam it? Stu, go get some ice water. A lot of it. Hurry man!”
As Jeff ran out the door Stu continued to shake the girl.  Her legs stopped shaking and her eyes were starting to close.
“Hurry, Jeff we’re losing her.”
 Stu slapped Valarie sharply across the face. There was a slight reaction. Her legs started to twitch as Jeff came running into the room with two buckets of ice water.
 “Quick, throw a bucket on her face.” Jeffery did so. The water drenched Valarie’s hair and shoulders. Her legs started to convulse again.
 Jeffery was crying, “Valarie don’t die. Please don’t die.”

Howard Finkelstein is 77 years old, who lives with his wife and dog in South Pasadena. He is a master dog trainer, and ASCAP lyrist. He is a former drug addict who has not used drugs in 27 years. Broken Flowers is his first novel.

A Respectable Actress by Dorothy Love

A Respectable Actress by Dorothy Love was an amazing historical fiction book.  I have read several books by this author and I loved each of them so this book had big shoes to fill and in short I loved everything about this book.  I love this authors style of writing because she can make you understand how the characters are feeling and why they do the things that they do.    I also love that she uses just enough details so you don’t get lost in the details but you also can understand why and what is going on with the characters.  I liked India throughout the entire book and I wanted everything to work out for her.  If you love historical novels than you aren’t going to want to miss book.

The Boys Of The Dixie Pig by Stacy Childs

The Boys Of The Dixie Pig by Stacy Childs was a different book than I have read before.  It is always nice for those of us that read tons of books to read books that are so different from what we usually read.  I love find new authors and new interesting books to read when I have a day or two to pick and read a book of my choosing.  I got this book from NetGalley for free but it was one I picked and since I enjoyed the story I wanted to review it here in case anyone else is looking for a fun book to read.  This book kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the entire book and I loved that about it.  I love books that make me want to keep reading them so I can find out what is going to happen and how it is going to end.  If you love books that are super fast pace than I know you will love this book.  I also love how this book started off at a fast past and I didn’t let up until the book was over.  I think this is a book that everyone will enjoy.

About The Author

Dr. Childs grew up in Abilene, Texas, and went to college at Tulane University and medical school at L.S.U., both in New Orleans. He did his internship and residencies in Birmingham, Alabama, and practiced urology there for seventeen years. He and his wife moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1995, where he practiced urology for nine years. His love of the mountains and skiing brought him to Steamboat Springs in May of 2004.

Dr. Childs was active in clinical research for twenty-eight years and started three research companies, one of which went public. His early interests in infection and inflammation of the urinary tract led him to the faculty of The University of Colorado in Denver where he was appointed Clinical Professor of Surgery in the division of Urology in 1999—a position which he currently holds.

He has been on various committees including chairman of the Medical School Admissions Committee for Wyoming and the Wyoming Governor’s Healthcare Commission and was a delegate to the American Medical Association. Dr. Childs is certified by The American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a consulting editor to the journal Urology, and is former editor-in-chief of Issues in Urology and the urology section of Medscape, among others. He has authored three medical texts, six chapters in medical books, and published over seventy-five articles in peer-reviewed medical journals. Dr. Childs began writing fiction in 2006.

Dr. Childs was the first medical Director of Cancer Services for YVMC Yampa Valley Medical Center. He has been listed in Americas Top Doctors since the fifth edition of the organization and has been listed in Best Doctors in America every year since 2007.

In addition to practicing urology for nearly four decades, Dr. Childs enjoys ski racing, road biking, hiking, fly fishing, and rifle and hand gun target shooting. He was a torch carrier for the Salt Lake City Olympics, after which he ran two marathons in four weeks, the last one in New York. He is a prostate cancer survivor.
