Just Stop

On Monday I wrote a post about 2 groups of people I would love to read my blog and I decided it would be fun to list a few people who I think and/or wish didn’t read my blog.

  • Family-Lets just say if they didn’t read this or I didn’t have to worry about them finding this blog I would have more topics to write about because there are so many posts that I write but can’t publish because I don’t want to have to worry about drama or my grandparents getting mad.
  • People who I have had to stop being friends with because I couldn’t take any more of their drama or bad choices in my life any long.
  • People who feel that everyone who places their children for adoption were forced into placing them or tricked into placing them.
  • People who make it their life to make others feel bad about themselves. I have never had this done to be and I don’t know that I would bother me but it would drive me up the wall.

Those are just a few of the people that I wish didn’t or wouldn’t read my blog. I am sure the longer I think about it I will have more people that come to mind but these ones are the ones I worry the most about.

I Loved . . .

I Loved

This week for the writers workshop I am going to write about number one which is: A movie you loved as a child. There are a few movies that I loved as a child so I am going to post a few of the ones that I loved.

The first one that came to mind when I read this post had to be the movie “Labyrinth“.

Labyrinth

Even now when I watch this movie it makes me smile and I am not 100% sure what it is about this movie that I loved so much. It has David Bowie in it and if you haven’t seen it then I think it is worth watching if you want a good laugh.

The second movie I loved was “Willow”.

I have tried to watch this movie as an adult and I am not sure what I liked about it because I literally can’t get through watching the movie now. I remember parts of this movie but everytime I try and watch it now that I am an adult I turn it off because it is that bad.

The third movie I loved was “The Wizard of Oz”

There isn’t much to say about this movie because I love it that much. When it was realised a few years ago on DVD I bought several copies because the VHS I had broke and I didn’t want to be without it again. I basically have the whole movie memorized and yet I still get excited if I see that it is on TV. To me this will always be a classic movie.

The fourth and final movie that I loved was “The Sound of Music”

I still love this movie and I watch it all the time. It did take until I was an adult to get everything that was really going on in the movie. Once I realized what was going on in the movie I loved it even more. I have always loved WWII so that made me love the movie even more.

Those are the four movies that came to mind right when I read the prompt.

8 Things People Forgot

This week for the writers workshop I am going to write about number 3 which is: list 8 things you think people forgot how to do. I loved this prompt because there are a few things that I think people have forgotten how to do. I always find myself asking out loud to really no one how hard would it be to do this that or another thing depending on the situation so this post was a fun one to write and a change from the normal posts I write.

Anyway now on to 8 things people forgot how to do.

  1. They have forgotten how to use the blinker. You would think it was an optional feature on vehicles because people rarely use them anymore. I love when people get pissed off that I wouldn’t let them but they didn’t use a blinker because if they had I almost always let people over.
  2. People forgetting that they need to stop at red lights or even start slowing down when the light turns yellow. I have to be honest there are times when I speed up when the light turns yellow but I am trying to break myself of that habit.
  3. People have forgotten how to move out of the fast lane when they are driving slower than the speed limit.
  4. People have forgotten how to say “Thank You” when people do something for you. They also don’t say “excuse me” when they want to get past you in a store or any other place.
  5. Some parents have forgotten how to teach their children respect for authority & just respect in general.
  6. People have forgotten the saying “If you don’t have anything nice to say than don’t say anything at all”.
  7. Some people have forgotten that you need to work for things and that not everything is handed to you.
  8. People have forgotten how to respect other people’s belongings. I am amazed at how people don’t care about other people’s things anymore.

Those are 8 things that I think people have forgotten. What do you think people have forgotten?

Best Thinking. . .

Best Thinking

I got the idea for this post from the blog Daily Post and the topic is:

When and where do you do your best thinking? In the bathroom? While running? Just before bed, or first thing in the morning? On the bus? Why do you think that is?

I chose this prompt because everyone has different places where they do their best thinking and I think it would be fun to find out where other people feel that they do their best thinking. I have to be honest this post took me awhile to write because I wasn’t really sure where I did my best thinking until I stopped and really thought about it.

After thinking about it I came to see that I do my best thinking at night when I am should be sleeping which is probably one of the many reasons that I can’t sleep. The minute I lay down my head starts going and I always get such great ideas for blog posts or other things I want/need to do.

I also find that for some reason I write the best blog posts while I am on my lunch break at work. I am sure that is because my brain is already in work mode so it is easy to switch from doing work and writing a blog post pretty easily. I am also lucky that my job doesn’t mind that I blog as long as all my work is done.

So that is when I do my best thinking. When and where do you do your best thinking?

8 Books Everyone Should Read

When I saw this was one of the prompts for the writers workshop I knew I had to write about it. The prompt I chose this time is 5.) List 8 books you’ve read that you think everyone should read in their lifetime. I have read tons of books in my lifetime and I am going to list 8 of the ones that I have read so far that I think everyone needs to read. I chose all these books for different reasons and I will write that next to the title & author of the books.

  1. 1984 by George Orwell- I read this book when I was in high school and I find it crazy how some of the things that happened in this book are happening in our country now. I think that everyone needs to read this book because it is an amazing book and it is an eye opener.
  2. Fearless by Eric Blehm-This is about one of the Navy Seals from Seal Team 6 that went in and killed Osama Bin Laden. He was shot during the firefight and this is a story written about his life. I cried through parts of this book because he had an amazing story and I feel so bad for his wife and children who lost him way too soon.
  3. The Milestone Tapes by Ashley Mackler-Paternostro- I am not sure if I can even tell you how much I loved this book. I cried through a lot of this book and I still loved it. It is an amazing story and something I think I would do if I had young children and knew I was going to pass away from cancer before they children had grown to be an adult. She basically makes tapes for her daughter for all the big things she knows her daughter will go through as she is growing up without her.
  4. Stress Test by Richard L. Mabry- I put this one on here because I love a good medical thriller and this one delivered on that. If you lost suspense/thrillers than I know you will love this one. (If you click on the title you will be directed to my review on this book)
  5. Anomaly by Krista McGee- I think everyone should read this one because it is about a dystopian society but it brings God into the story and I loved that about this book. The next book in the series comes out in January and I can’t wait to read it.
  6. The Beloved Daughter by Alana Terry-I just read this book recently and I have to say that I loved everything about it. I loved learning about what was going on during this book and I also had to wonder how many people really lived this story. It take place in North Korea and it broke my heart to read and I was also sad because you don’t know what really happens at the end.
  7. The Girl In The Box by Sheila Dalton- I read this book a few years ago and I really enjoyed it because like the book The Beloved Daughter I have to wonder how many people really live like this and how many times things like this happen to people.
  8. Defending Jacob by William Landay- I loved this one because you get to see how some people think and you also get to see what some people will do for their children. I don’t know if my child did something like his does I am not sure how I would handle it and what I would do.

One Million Dollars

One Million Dollars

I received a email from NaBloPoMo that had blog post ideas for the whole month of November and this one was the prompt for November 1st: If you found one million dollars in the morning and had to spend it by nightfall, what would you do with the money? I loved this post prompt so I wanted to write a post about it and tell everyone what I would do with one million dollars and 24 hours.

I would like to say that I would donate part of the money to some charity but I know that I would never do that because at times I wonder what charities actually do with the money. So I know the first thing I would do is by a new MacBook Pro and also an iMac because I have been missing my laptop this year and I have always wanted an iMac.

I also would probably go buy a new car and a condo/townhouse. I don’t want a house because I don’t have the energy or time to keep up a yard. I also don’t care if I share walls with a neighbor. To me being out of my grandparents house is what I really want/need. I could go on about that but for now I am just going to leave it at the fact that I want to get out but can’t because of bills and what I make at my job. I have no idea what type of car I would get because the cars I am liking right now aren’t super good in the winter.

I think I would probably also go and buy clothes and things like that because god knows I love to shop and if I had the money I would be shopping all the time. Other than that I can’t really think of anything that I would do with the money. I guess if I had left over money I would donate it to Villalobos because I would love to be able to help out the pitbulls that she has there and I love everything about the show that they are on.

So that is all that I would do with the money. What would you do with one million dollars and 24 hrs?

My Name Is . . .

This was a prompt from last weeks writers workshop and I had to write about it because it was such a fun topic and there are tons of things that could complete the sentence. I think I am going to just list things that I am and then explain why on some of them.

  • Birth Mom-I placed my daughter for adoption when I was 20.
  • Blogger
  • Daughter
  • Mom to two crazy cats
  • Book lover
  • Introvert
  • Person who truly loves to be alone
  • Huge football fan-I will watch pretty much any game but I love the University of Utah & the Baltimore Ravens.
  • Suffer of an invisible illness-Multiple Sclerosis
  • College dropout
  • Blog Designer

Those are just the few things that came first to me. I know I could go on and on with a list but no one has time to read that.

A Trend I Don’t Understand

Last week for the writers workshop one of the prompts was about a trend I don’t understand. So when I think of trends that are going on right now all I can think of is the shirts that look like you are wearing old drapes or an old couch that could be found in someones attic.

I mean who in the heck wants to walk around looking like you are wearing a couch??? I have never been one to follow what the trend is or anything like that but these last few years I haven’t seen anything for the most part that I would actually wear.

I was looking at trends for Spring 2013 and I saw that people are wearing things that make you you look fat??? How does that work? I mean why in the heck would I want to wear something like this:

I don’t think I need clothes to make myself look fatter thanks though! I don’t how clothes like this are flattering at all for anyone. I am also sure that most people don’t put on their clothes hoping to be fatter or at least I don’t that is for sure.

Best Present 2012 #WritersWorkshop

This year for Christmas I got my first iPod. It is hard to believe that I love Apple products and yet I have never had an iPod. Anyway I got the blue one.

iPod TouchI was so excited to get it and now that I have it I know for a fact that I want to get an iPhone. I just have to figure out where to get one from and then I have to take it to T-Mobile and have them activate it for me. Anyway that was so not what this post is about. My grandparents also paid off my dentist bill so that was nice as well. I literally spent all day yesterday messing around with it and downloading apps on it. I love that I can now carry around all my music and it also gives me something else to mess around with when I can’t sleep at night.

Christmas was better this year than it has been for the last few years so that was nice as well. I think I am going to write a separate post on why Christmas day is hard for me now. I haven’t written about it yet because up until this year I wasn’t able to get through the day let alone write a post about it. So be on the look out for that.
