Things That Drive Me Insane-Men I Work With

Things That Drive Me Insane

So I was going to write this post last week but figured I better give it a little time between what made me mad and writing this post. It has now be a few days and I think I can write this post without getting pissed off and saying something I may regret. I am not sure how many of you know but I work in the construction industry so it is mostly males that I work with.

Right now there is one other female that works in the building with me and there are like 11 guys. Most of the time this isn’t a big deal and it is actually nice. I always thought that working with women was the hardest thing but I come to see that working with all men can be just as bad if not worse.

It seems like there is always finger-pointing and accusing when it comes to them thinking someone took something that belongs to them. I have pretty much stayed out of it because I don’t know who I can really trust. Now there are few people who I will believe over others but that doesn’t mean I chose sides. Since I am the receptionist I have to try to stay and neutral as possible.

I am getting tired of feeling like I am in high school with some of the men always fighting but I guess would happen in any sales field when the guys are on straight commission. What really pissed me off is the fact that someone would turn my computer on and use it then leave it on. I don’t care if they use the computer but at least turn it off after you are done. I always try to turn it off because if I am gone the next day we will have a temp fill in for me and they aren’t allowed on my computer. Now if the computer is on there is nothing stopping them from using it. All I have always said if you use something of mine just put it back where you got it from when you are done. I don’t think that it is anything super hard to understand or at least I have it figured out.

What do co-workers do that bug you?

  1. As a construction blue collar guy myself, I can say that yeah, it’s true. I get pissed off working with all men sometimes! Lol, of course all chicks woudl probably bother me too. How about password protecting your computer? Then when theyt urn it on, they can’t access anything without the password. THen you don’t have to worry anymore about anyone using your computer. And if your boss needs it when you’re gone, you can text him the password (and then change the password when you get back).

Hey listen, since you work in the construction industry, if you ever want to guest post for Blue Collar Workman, just let me know! I can’t pay for posts just yet, but it could help get traffic to each of our blogs. Any blue collar/construction-type story you have would be great! Working with blue collar dudes, like you do, would bring a pretty good angle to the site. Just let me know!

    • Ya I wish I could but since everything goes through corporate and our IT guy I can’t. I have since talked to guy about the problem and he says he will but we will see you never know with them. I will for sure what I can come up with for you. God knows I have stories of all the crazy crap that happens.
