Thursday Update

It is Thursday and I am so glad for that!  This week has gone fast but it has also been busy and I am tired of always being busy but like I always say it could be worse.  I could not have a job and looking for one.  Anyways I had a doctors appointment yesterday.  She gave me a sleeping pill.  I am going to get it filled this weekend and I will let you all know if it works or not.  God only knows that I really need to sleep.  I will go for weeks withjust only a few hours of sleep and it is really starting to catch up with me.  I wish they could really figure out what is wrong with me so that I can try and fix it so that I can get normal sleep with out taking any pills.  I am going to hope and pray that I will someday get to that point.  This is a short post because I am running out of things to say.  So until tomorrow I hope you all had a great day and have a great Friday!

    1/2 boy 1/2 man
You just won’t be able to stop yourself.

The average age of the military man is 19 years.
He is a short haired, tight-muscled kid who,
under normal circumstances is considered by
society as half man, half boy. Not yet dry behind
the ears, not old enough to buy a beer, but old
enough to die for his country. He never really
cared much for work and he would rather wax
his own car than wash his father’s, but he has
    never collected unemployment either.

He’s a recent High School graduate; he was probably an average student, pursued some form of sport
activities, drives a ten year old jalopy, and has a
steady girlfriend that either broke up with him when
he left, or swears to be waiting when he returns from half a world away. He listens to rock and roll or hip-hop or rap or jazz or swing and a 155mm howitzer.

He is 10 or 15 pounds lighter now than when he
was at home because he is working or fighting
from before dawn to well after dusk. He has
trouble spelling, thus letter writing is a pain for him,
but he can field strip a rifle in 30 seconds and
reassemble it in less time in the dark. He can recite
to you the nomenclature of a machine gun or
grenade launcher and use either one effectively if he must.

He digs foxholes and latrines and can apply first aid like a professional.

He can march until he is told to stop,
or stop until he is told to march.

He obeys orders instantly and without hesitation,
but he is not without spirit or individual dignity.
    He is self-sufficient.

He has two sets of fatigues: he washes one and wears the other. He keeps his canteens full and his feet dry.

He sometimes forgets to brush his teeth, but never
to clean his rifle. He can cook his own meals, mend
his own clothes, and fix his own hurts.

If you’re thirsty, he’ll share his water with you; if you
are hungry, his food. He’ll even split his ammunition
with you in the midst of battle when you run low.

He has learned to use his hands like weapons
and weapons like they were his hands.

He can save your life - or take it, because that is his job.

He will often do twice the work of a civilian, draw half the pay, and still find ironic humor in it all.

He has seen more suffering and death than he should have in his short lifetime.

He has wept in public and in private, for friends who have fallen in combat and is unashamed.

He feels every note of the National Anthem vibrate through his body while at rigid attention, while tempering the burning desire to ‘square-away ‘ those around him who haven’t bothered to stand, remove their hat, or even stop talking.
In an odd twist, day in and day out, far from home, he defends their right to be disrespectful.

Just as did his Father, Grandfather, and Great-grandfather, he is paying the price for our freedom. Beardless or not, he is not a boy. He is the American Fighting Man that has kept this country free for over 200 years.

He has asked nothing in return, except
    our friendship and understanding.
Remember him, always, for he has earned our respect and admiration with his blood.

And now we even have women over there in danger, doing their part in this tradition of going to War when our nation calls us to do so.

As you go to bed tonight, remember this shot. . ..

A short lull, a little shade and a picture of
    loved ones in their helmets..

Prayer wheel for our military… please don’t
break it Please send this on after a short prayer.

    Prayer Wheel

‘Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen.’

When you receive this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our ground troops in Afghanistan , sailors on ships, and airmen in the air, and for those in Iraq , Afghanistan and all foreign                countries.

    There is nothing attached…
    This can be very powerful….

Of all the gifts you could give a US Soldier, Sailor, Coastguardsman, Marine, or Airman, prayer is the very best one.

    Do You Believe In Magic

I was reading my comments and one of my readers left a comment on my blog and told me I should check out her MeMe’s and since I love doing them I checked them out and this was the one for day so I figured why not and it will let some of you in on a little bit about me!

    1. Tell us about your superstitions. Do you have any? Do you “x out” black cats on the windshield of your car, avoid cracks in the sidewalk or practice other rituals that make you feel safer?  I don’t have any rituals but I sure do have superstitions that is for sure.  I hate Friday the 13th and I also have to keep pictures of Jesus around to try and keep most of the spirits away while I am at home.
    2. Has anything paranormal ever happened to you that you can write about?  I have seen and heard spirits most of my life and it is getting “worse” as I get older.
    3. Have you ever had a near-death experience? No I haven’t had one but I think it would be neat to  have one!
    4. Pheromones…aka “love fireworks” (I think I remember those)…are a force to be reckoned with. Do you believe that two people can have an uncontrollable chemical reaction to each other? How do you know this to be true?  I do because I have seen it with my best friend and her boyfriend.  There are a lot of things out there that no one knows about or how things work.
    5. Do you believe that modern day witches can put spells on people? I am not sure what I believe on this subject.
    6. ESP! What do those letters stand for in your life?  They mean a lot of things to me!  More and more every year as I get old and have more experiences.
    7. Do you ever hear strange noises in your house? I hear and see strange things all the time.
If so, what do they sound like? It really depends but most of time it is people walking around
    8. Tell us about a time you “knew” something was going to happened before it did. Are you one of those intuitive types or do you know someone who is ? Do tell.  I am at time but my best friends boyfriend is really good at it and he is a lot more gifted than I am with a lot of spiritual things as well.
    9. I’m a tad gifted in the dream department. Really. Sometimes my dreams are prophetic and come true. It can be a blessing and a curse. Has this ever happened to you? If not, would you like to have this gift? (Be careful what you wish for. It can be freaky at times.)  It hasn’t ever happened to me but yes I would love to have it happen.  I would rather have that happen then being able to see spirits.

    Another Damn Tuesday

Well it is Tuesday and I have decided that I hate Tuesdays.  I am trying to find something positive about them but I can’t seem to find anything.  If anyone has any ideas please let me know.  I guess one good thing is I can be random and this is always the easiest post all week for me to write that is for sure.  So here goes the randomness that is in my head all the time!

      MEme Monday-Super Hero

Well it is Monday and that means it is time for Monday MEme with Supah and Mommy Brain!  This week is is all about being a super hero or a spy!  I have listed their prompts below but they also said that we could mix and match to make one that we liked if we wanted to!

Tell us about a time that you pulled off a MISSION that seemed IMPOSSIBLE.

Tell us about a time that you tapped into your inner SPY self.

Tell us who you’d like to SPY on  for a day and why!

What would your spy name be? (Makes me wonder … is that like a stripper name?)

Tell us which Spy Hero you love and why you’d make a good sidekick.
      • James Bond
      • Jason Bourne
      • Matthew McHey Hey   fine  * pout face
      • The Mission IMpossible Guy:  Ethan Hunt!
      • Get Smart Dude
      • Austin Powers

You may re-work it however you’d like. :)

Think on it and come back Monday to Link up!
I found this neat name generator and this is what it says my spy name is!

I don’t know that I would like to spy on anyone.  I would love to be a fly on the wall though so that I could see and hear what some people do when they are behind closed doors.  I guess that could be spying of sorts.  Well anyway I am dying to be a fly on the wall and hear what goes on in my own house when I am working and what not.  I think it would be interesting to see what everyone does all day and what they talk about.  I know I am amazed at times while I am here and can listen to everything that they say I wonder what they really talk about and what they really think.  My family has a really hard time of telling people what they are really thinking most of the time so I would love to know what they really are talking about.  I also would really love to know what they are really thinking so I guess I really just want to get inside there heads and see what is going on.  I would love to get into the heads of other people and see what makes them tick.  Wouldn’t it be interesting to see why people do what they do.  I think it would be the most interesting thing in the whole world.  Anyways that is who I would like to spy on or be their fly on the wall!!!!

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

      Saturday & Sunday Football

UPDATE # 2:   OMG!!!!!!!  I can not believe that we pulled it out in the last seconds of the game!  It was great and I am glad that I couldn’t fall asleep!  It was a great game and a great end to Sunday night!!!  I will always remember this game!

UPDATE # 1:   Well the game still isn’t over but lets just say that I don’t know if my Colts are going to pull this one out.  I am going to try and go to bed so I will post the final score and final thoughts tomorrow.  Lets just say I am not impressed at all.  Even my player isn’t doing that well.  I am holding out hope that we will pull it out.

ORIGINAL POST:  Well it was a rough week for both of my college teams.  BYU pulled it out but Utah couldn’t seem to get anything good going.  They got four touch downs but from the beginning TCU dominated on the field.  It was hard to watch them get the shit kicked out of them but I have to give prop’s to the Utah quarter back.  Even though he didn’t do that great he never gave up and kept trying.  He got hit pretty hard a lot of times but kept on trying.  All I can say is that he has heart!!!!!  As for BYU they should have done tons better and if it hadn’t been for the poor New Mexico kicker they would have lost the game.  It was a big joke watching them play to say the least.  It is going to make for a interesting game when they play each other.  I am not sure who will win it.  All I can do is wait and see.

Now the Colts play tonight so I will be sure to update you all once that game is over.  They are playing New England so we will see.  I can tell you that my husband bet against them so they better win so that he will lose!  When he bets against my team I always want him to lose and so far I have been right every time!

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday and has had a great weekend!
