Recently I have started talking to my best friend from high school again.  I have been looking back and I don’t have a single memory from my senior year of high school that doesn’t have her in it.  We always had a great time and my family loved her.  We were more like sisters that friends.  We were always together until we went away to college and then everything changed.  I am not sure what happened or why it happened but we started to grow apart.  Around the time I got pregnant we got in a fight about something and to be honest with everyone I am not sure what we were fighting about.  I know that it was probably my fault though.  I know how I am when I am not on medication and pretty much say that it was my fault and I feel bad because we haven’t spoken in like 6 years or so.  It is crazy to think that it has been that long.  I never thought we would drift apart like we did but I can’t take it back all I can do now is try and rebuild the relationship and don’t let it happen again.  I look back and see where I went wrong with it all.  I was so glad that she emailed me because I was to big a brat to email her first.  Hell when she emailed me I didn’t even know why I was mad her I just knew I was.  After I read her email I realized how dumb I was being.and realized that I did want her back in my life.  I am hoping that we will rebuild our friendship and not drift apart again!

  5. Oh girl, I've been in that same situation! I've know her since birth, pratically. We drifted apart because I didn't approve of the guy she dated and just fought. Now –8 years later– we reconnected…but its just not the same. We've "friended" each other on FB, but nothing more. I hope your friendship will get back to "the old time"!

    I'm a new follower from the I <3 bloggin hop…would love a follow back!

  6. I'm hopping over from Paisley Passions and your newest follower! I hope you follow back!

I've recently gone through the same emotions that you have but haven't had the courage to take the leap yet and contact her….

  7. Aw, so sweet! My BF and I drifted apart after high school and found each other again a few years ago- so glad we did!

  8. I can relate a bit to your story. I have a best friend who I lost contact with for about 8 years. We met in the first grade and were best friends up through high school, and then I was the Maid of Honor in her wedding, and she was my Maid of Honor as well. Then I started having children while she remained in the single world. We got into some stupid no-talking-for-no-real-reason-at-all thing…and it lasted 8 years! At our 20 year high school reunion we began talking again, and we are good now. There's nothing quite a like an old friend, you know? Like yours, she holds all of my childhood memories. I can't think of one single memory during all of my years of school that she wasn't a part of. Friendships like that are rare and precious, and they deserve the time and effort they take to keep them going 🙂

  9. I'm the same way…. it's amazing how we'll forget about what the argument was about. I'm sure it was nothing big. I remember my first fight with my best friend from Kindergarten was because she wanted to play on the swings and I wanted to play on the spider/jungle gym. I look back and laugh… and we still KIT, it just hasn't been the same =( Hopefuly you can restore your friendship!! I'm a new follower, hope you can stop by and say hi @ ModernMomRedefined.blogspot.com I have a blog on Mondays called "Memory Mondays" that I'd love it if you would link up to sometime!
Hope you are having a great hump day!

  10. Sometimes a friendship needs to travel this path. Both people get a good long chance to grow up, build a life and get to a point where they can be friends again. I'm happy for you that you found your best friend again.

  11. So glad you were able to reconnect. My best friend is one I've had since 7th grade and we've had times where we've drifted but we always come back together again.

new follower from the wandering wednesday hop!

  12. That is really awesome that you were able to reconnect with her. I will be praying that you two can rekindle the close relationship you once had.
